Cur loses his grip and as soon as the archer is free, Cur begins throwing punches.
OOC:
I wasn't sure of the damage for this. Is it automatically 2, or am I rolling?

Rolls

Attack (Fists!) - (2d20)

(53) = 8

Feb 7, 2021 8:10 pm
OOC:
Extra d6 for the momentum generated on my attack

Rolls

Momentum - (1D6)

(4) = 4

Feb 8, 2021 4:06 am
Roderigo does 4 damage plus 2 Effects which is 6 damage. Armor 2 reduces that to 4, and causes another Harm.

Cur can roll 2 damage dice, plus another for Momentum
OOC:
Unarmed/Improvised Strike
This is a basic strike with any body part, or whatever object comes to hand. An Unarmed/Improvised Strike is the basic attack for a Melee or Ranged attack. It has a Reach of 1, and inflicts 2§ damage and includes the Improvised, Stun, and Thrown Qualities. As it literally represents whatever the character can bring to hand, there is no limit to the number of shots the character has when making a Ranged attack — the character is assumed to grab a rock or other small, hard object as part of the attack. Ultimately, however, the gamemaster may determine that no further ammunition is available for Ranged attacks in certain environments.

Damaging with dice

Rolls

Damage - (2d6)

(52) = 7

Feb 9, 2021 3:10 am
OOC:
I'll roll the other dice for you
Four damage, plus 2 Stun, less armor.
[ +- ] Stun

Rolls

Extra damage - (1d6)

(5) = 5

Qralloq says:
OOC:

[ +- ] Stun
OOC:
When does Cur lose momentum then? I had added to the grapple check he had done previously, but the grapple was broken. Momentum persists even after the action it was used on is resolved, so to speak?
Feb 9, 2021 5:23 pm
OOC:
You generated an extra Momentum in this attack, by achieving two successes. Since you only need one to succeed, the extras success becomes Momentum.

Jarik and Odan are up.
Feb 14, 2021 1:13 pm
"Damned sword, find your mark!", Jarik complains, and lunges forward to attack once more.

Rolls

Attack roll - Agility 8(1) - (2d20)

(2015) = 35

Feb 14, 2021 4:17 pm
Jarik swings hard, and his weapon bangs into the stone, clattering in his hand which goes numb.

The two archers, both of whom are outnumbered, and one of whom is beaten pretty badly, throw down their weapons, fall to their knees and beg for mercy with no shame.

Below you, the friendly tribesman are ready to shoot down either if they flee.

You're up.
Feb 14, 2021 11:53 pm
Cur jumps in the way of the defeated archers, and shouts out, "Wait!" He throws his hands up and makes sure that he's continuing the bloodshed, at least for now. "We should interrogate these fools before killing them."
Feb 15, 2021 12:59 am
The friendly villagers assure you they're in agreement with your plan, and only mean to shoot them if they get away from you.

In their near language, one asks, "Ask them why they break peace!"
Feb 15, 2021 4:54 pm
Roderigo says (in Kushite) "Why did you attack us? you worthless dogs!"
Feb 19, 2021 1:44 pm
You notice when getting close, that these other warriors, the Mekutu, have distinctive "long smiles" — eerily broad mouths which are ritually sliced wide upon reaching adulthood.

They stare in hatred at the Xhotatse, your allies. An argument breaks out and the Xhotatse quickly execute the prisoners, before you can stop them.

"They attacked us because we are enemies. They are evil and torture and kill any they can."

The Xhotatse patrol recognizes what an advantage you as outsiders could provide them. Your skill in battle amply demonstrated. The tribe swiftly invites, even begs you to accompany them back to the safety of the Ebony Keep of the Xhotatse to meet their ruler, "wise" Queen Chitaka.
Feb 19, 2021 5:45 pm
See the prisoners executed so brutally, Cur says nothing, but laments the scene before him grimly.

Turning to the others, Cur says, "I think we should accept, for now. It may help us in the short-term, but we should probably keep our guard up, at the very least. The speed with which they killed the captives is fairly telling, don't you think?"
Feb 20, 2021 4:30 pm
Roderigo nods and says "We cannot trust these savages, I agree but let us meet their Queen, we have nothing to lose and might discover something to our advantage".
Feb 21, 2021 4:07 am
The Xhotatse patrol leads you along darkened, crumbling corridors and overgrown gardens, occasionally stepping over, or ducking warily under, trip wires for dart traps and vine snares. Soon, they are care-fully picking their way through the camouflaged lion pits guarding the approach to the Ebony Keep of the Xhotatse.

"Tread carefully. Do not stray from our path."

The patrol does not willingly explain to you why you are being directed on a strangely winding path, often ignoring what appears to be the most obvious and direct path.
Feb 21, 2021 6:55 pm
Confused by the route taken, Jarik siddles up to a Xhotatse warrior and says in Kushite, "where I come from, the say the shortest path is the straight one. Why do we take this meandering way to your Queen?"
Feb 22, 2021 4:16 am
Cur remains silent doing his best to note the route they've taken. "If they've made this effort on purpose, then it was certainly for a reason. It would be a good idea if I could retrace their steps if needed," he thinks to himself
Feb 22, 2021 1:18 pm
A warrior stops Jarik as he tries to move and points at the ground he was about to step on, and says, "Traps for enemies. Keep Xhotatse safe."
OOC:
You can attempt to spot these traps, is a Challenging (D2) Survival test.
A series of small white cairns also surround the immediate approach to the keep. These are made of the piled, whitened bones of intruders who trespassed on Xhotatse territory, as the patrol freely explains.
OOC:
If you want to deduce the path, it is a Daunting (D3) Insight test.
