Cur spots the telltale marks made by its (metallic) claws in the soil, on trees, and even on flagstones.

The trail of the Feathered Ape leads your group to an area your guides have not visited in years. Through a greenhouse-like area with a particularly rich, musky scent they come upon a chamber where a single type of plant grows, covering the walls and floor quite thickly. A lone narrow path twists and undulates across from one door to the next.

The blooming plants are a rich, deep red, fat with moisture. The Xhotatse guides know nothing of this plant, stating only that is was not here when they last passed through years ago.

Indistinct shapes bulging out under the creeper on the walls and floor are human. Some are dry, long-dead husks, while others are skeletal near-mummies whose sunken eyes move so slowly it is hard to tell that they are still conscious. If examined, the Xhotatse guides can identify the victims by their distinctive elongated skulls as landless, "dreaming" Tangani.

"Well, this is not what I expected to find," Cur says to the others. "I'm feeling fortunate our guides have not yet turned and fled so far. What do you make of it?"[/b] He turns to others and mulls the site around him.

Jarik draws his sword and begins to hack at the creeper entombing the cadavers; "Here, do you know whose they people are?" he demands of the Xhotatse guides The reply comes quickly, and Jarik questions further - "What do know of the 'dreaming' Tangani?"
Mar 29, 2021 11:52 am
"I like this not"! snarls Rederigo, "were we brought here to be the next victims!" with that he joins Jarik in hacking away at the creepers.

The red creeper does not give up its food easily. As soon as any embedded tendrils are disturbed, the red creeper begins to writhe and defend itself! Tiny red tendrils reach out to ensnare and trip anyone in the area.

You can all attack first.

Sorry, is this just a free shot on the creeper?

I have no idea if that hits, Phil, your character sheet is a disaster, haha.
Jarik hits. Roderigo hits (with an extra success). Please roll damage.

Here is a link to a character sheet formatted. If you quote it, you can grab the formatting codes including the funky monospace font.

Or add a link to the jpg of your sheet onto your sheet.
Tenbo, your warrior guide, slashes with his spear, too, trying to defend you from the crazy plant, but misses.

The vines (Red Creeper) had no Soak, and Vigor 14. Each damage reduces it's stress (Vigor) by 1.

Jarik does 1.
Roderigo does 2 with 2 effects (Vicious 1 means 2 more damage).
Cur does 2.

So the Red Creeper takes 7 from the three attacks.

It lashes out at Jarik, the first to attack. It does 6 damage (reduce by your armor/soak), plus two stun damage and has grappled you.

Jarik is unable to do any actions except Acrobatics or Athletics (D2) to get free. Further, he is Staggered (until the end of his next turn) from the stinging poison of the plant, and so would have to spend a Doom to do try and break free.
[ +- ] staggered
You're all up.

Tenbo attack and damage - (2d20, 4d6)
