If later on you use Ranged Combat Attack which uses the Pyromancy Skill then use Continuous Attack then it will use the Pyromancy Skill since it is continuing the Ranged Combat Attack.

No you do not assign Continuous Attack to a Skill -- Continuous Attack uses the Skill associated with the attack Ninpo you are continuing -- in this case you used Close Combat Attack Ninpo which uses the Hand-to-Hand Skill -- this means that the Continuous Attack in this case also uses the Hand-to-Hand SkillIf later on you use Ranged Combat Attack which uses the Pyromancy Skill then use Continuous Attack then it will use the Pyromancy Skill since it is continuing the Ranged Combat Attack.

As Aaron approaches Takezo launches into maneuvers that resemble a stylish dance more than combat maneuvers. He meets Aaron's initial attack with a side-step spin and blocking strike to his extended arm with is fiery hand continuing the spin into a spinning back kick but was unprepared for Aaron's quick counter attack.

I am not sure if it matters what Skill you defend with but your closest to Performance is Seduction making the TN 6 however if it does matter I think either Investigation (TN 8) or Trap (TN 9) would be viable but that is a GM call.Last edited March 24, 2021 10:58 pm

As his punch goes out, Aaron picks up on something... an incoming attack! A spinning back kick like the one he saw in the poster on the way in. The cleanliness of the strike and sense of strength and foundation that emanated off that poster was a sure clue that his opponent was no slouch in the fighting arena, even if the kick seemed more dramatic than strictly necessary for a fight.
He tried to roll away from the kick while still landing his punch.

Just as Aaron second strike was about to land, it collided with an invisible barrier that then flashed into the shape of a small flaming bird with a shape much like that of a phoenix. Both men are a bit surprised by it as neither were expecting that to happen. Takezo dances back a bit and prepares himself thinking, 'Well I'll be danged, I wonder how many times that will happen'.

Aaron jumps back a few steps, surprised and unhappy. "So... you've made some deal with the Phoenix, or figured how to use it's power huh? Well, no matter. I'll still win him."
He drops down into a fighting crouch to get ready for the next volley. No time to rethink strategy. Just get back into it.

Choosing to change things up a little Takezo switches from the crane style into capoeira moving forward quickly in a series of swirling leg sweeps to control space and erratic tumbling maneuvers to disguise the real direction from whence the true attack will come. Moving both inward and outward without any seeming pattern while building up energy until finally striking out with a low rising chi thrust to the solar plexus.

Okay technically the fight is over after Aaron takes that 1 hit -- I can roleplay out the final exchange if you like but it might be better if you alter your post accordingly. Perhaps the hit knocks him off out of balance and instead of coming down on his feet he hits the ground in more a sprawlLast edited March 27, 2021 8:50 pm

"Do you need help tending to that, prior to having tea? Otherwise I will wait." Takezo's tone is relaxed conversional as if they had not just undergone a quick intense deathly exchange. Further there is no sound of condescension in is tone as if he holds a good level of respect for Aaron.

Aaron stands. He hits a few points above and below the wound, instinctively following the rote movements his masters taught him about about medicine and energy control. It's not something he can do in the heat of battle but it can come in handy.
Although the wound isn't healed yet, and will slow down and throw off any stealth actions he tries to take, it does stop bleeding. It's enough to blend back in.
He takes a few tender steps to double check his work, he's much more used to dealing damage than healing it, then walks confidently to Takezo. "I'm fine. I'm Aaron, by the way. Let's get that tea."

Takezo escorts Aaron to the center building where the tea can be served. Once inside he proceeds to make the necessary arrangements for the tea ceremony. He dons the provided kimono and makes sure that the selected room and utensils are of the appropriate stature to show full respect to his guest. Once these are settled on he begins the actually artistic ceremonial process of serving tea to Aaron. "So Aaron have you ever participated in a tea ceremony before?"
[ +- ] Tea Ceremony
Japanese tea ceremony (known as sadō/chadō or cha-no-yu -- "The Way of Tea") is a Japanese cultural activity involving the choreographic ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha, a powdered green tea, the art of which is called (o)Temae. Serving tea is an not only an art form but also a spiritual discipline. Preparing tea in this ceremony means pouring all of one's attention into the predefined movements. The whole process is not about drinking tea, but is about the aesthetics and preparing a bowl of tea from one's heart. The host of the ceremony always considers the guests with every movement and gesture. Even the placement of the tea utensils is considered from the guests view point (angle), especially the main guests called the Shokyaku.
The objective of the Japanese tea ceremony is to create a relaxed communication between the host and his guests. It is based in part on the etiquette of serving tea ((o)Temae), but it also includes the intimate connections with architecture, landscape gardening, unique tea utensils, paintings, flower arrangement, ceramics, calligraphy, Zen Buddhism, and all the other elements that coexist in a harmonious relationship with the ceremony. Its ultimate aim is the attainment of deep spiritual satisfaction through the drinking of tea and through silent contemplation. On a different level, the Japanese tea ceremony is an entertainment where the guest is invited to drink tea in a pleasant and relaxing room. Where the bonds of respect and friendship between the host and guest are strengthened during the ceremony as the host them self makes and serves the tea.

Aaron takes all of this in. He was thinking of just getting an Earl Grey, but this is something else. "No. I haven’t had the opportunity yet. Seems interesting. Thanks for... bringing me. ".
Mar 30, 2021 4:48 pm
Takezo goes over the finer points of the tea ceremony and once that is covered says, "I am glad you accepted the invitation, there is no reason agents in the field need be uncivil to one another. If it helps ease your mind any, the phoenix is already dead and what happened earlier was as much a surprise to me as it was to you. Perhaps a final blessing from the creature as I made it comfortable for its final hours. Further I do not believe our organization is at odds with yours as we both have the best interest of the Japanese people in mind. However, I do find it unusual for someone of obvious non-Japanese decent to be focused on such an agenda. Can I ask how you came by putting my people's interest in such importance?"

Aaron thinks on the myriad ways he could talk about how he got here and settles on "I'm a government administrator. A liaison really. It was made known to me that Tesla was working on something with huge medicinal value and it was taken from them. I wanted to get it back. That's really about it. If it's dead, it's dead. But it is a Phoenix. Won't it rise again? If you got what you needed from it, I'll gladly take the remains to back."
The whole time Aaron has been doing his best to follow Shinmen's motions and do as he does. He's trying to make friends with the victor and it seems he isn't a bad guy. At least as far as bad guys go.
"Can you tell me why you're doing this? Why did you take it?"
