Okay, so we got two options here. I can help you build, or you can just submit your sheet when you're done and let me know here.

Just started working on "Gene Bond". ;)

D–1: The Power Brokerage
POINTMAN

The character is started and applied so you can see the mess growing.

4d6, drop one is fine.

I'll keep an eye on it. Going to approve characters as they're done so I can remember which ones need work
Apr 6, 2021 3:07 pm
stats: 17, 14, 11, 11, 10, 8

4d6 - ( 2, 2, 2, 4 ) = 10 = 8
4d6 - ( 6, 3, 5, 1 ) = 15 = 14
4d6 - ( 1, 1, 5, 5 ) = 12 = 11
4d6 - ( 5, 6, 3, 6 ) = 20 = 17
4d6 - ( 5, 1, 3, 2 ) = 11 = 10
4d6 - ( 2, 3, 2, 6 ) = 13 = 11

I have put in the stats. LOL. as best I can I guess. I have a boat load of info on the character that I will trim down some day. What other stats/features or what ever is the next step.

Do I need to throw a d10 for Vitality now?
Do I need to select 5 (6 base -1 INT)x4 skill points now for being a pointman?
Is there also Versatility six more skills to chose as class besides the ones given to me as class skills?
How do I do Gear?
Apr 8, 2021 6:26 am
Vitality is maxed at 1st level, so you'll have 10+ your CON mod.

You do need to buy your skills, you have 20 points to spend per your math. It's the same as d&d 3.5, class skills cost one point per rank, cross-class are 1 point per half rank, and yes, you get to choose six skills to add to your class skill list.

I have Bluff (CHA), Bureaucracy (CHA), Craft (INT), Diplomacy (CHA), Driver (DEX), First Aid (WIS), Knowledge (INT), Profession (WIS), Sense Motive (WIS), Sport (STR or DEX) as Class Skills.

Versatility: At 1st level, a pointman may select 6 cross-class skills to become class skills. In addition, he may select another cross-class skill to become a class skill at 3rd level and every three levels thereafter. When multiclassing, the pointman’s versatility skills are considered cross-class skills unless his new class also features them as class skills.

So do I now pick 6 more skills that are cross-class skills and make them also Class skills?

And then pick what skills I wish to apply my dear 20 skill points to? As I had 8 class skills and now I have 14 class skills due to Versatility?

How many feats do I receive?

I have:* Bonus feat: Any style feat. I must still meet all prerequisites for the feat, including ability score and base attack bonus minimums.

I see lots of interesting feats to choose from.. :)

Be nice too if we get more people :).

I'm asking. We can run with 3, but I'd rather have 4 or 5.
Apr 9, 2021 12:42 am
How about on feats. Do we get starting ones?

I have my skills selected. Coming up hard on gear.
Apr 9, 2021 2:18 pm
You get one feat at 1st level, plus whatever your choices give you.

For gear, I'd suggest one small gun, plus anything you can see using on EVERY mission. Any gear you pick right now will be your personal property.

I'm not going to be dealing with encumbrance unless necessary. I don't figure you're going to have all that stuff ON YOU, just easily accessible.
Apr 12, 2021 4:40 pm
Backgrounds are fine. You'll each get one, no charge.
Apr 12, 2021 7:11 pm
What do you think of these backgrounds. Trypanophobia is the free one. The Lost (or Forbidden) Love is what has to be decided. I can go with anything you want there.

(5) Trypanophobia: Fear of needles/injections

(2) Lost (or Forbidden) Love: Maybe you’re in a relationship you shouldn’t be having, or that could be damaging if discovered, such as a dalliance with an enemy agent. The number of points invested determines the injury you could sustain if your lover is revealed. On the other hand, your lover might have been taken from you. The number of points invested indicates the power of the persons who split you up or those who hold your lover hostage.

Added some more info about (2) Lost (or Forbidden) Love on the character including a picture.

Just adjust one of your Trained skills to have a +2 bonus instead of a +4 and we'll be good.

On that note, I'm not clear if you've re-done your skills based on the house rule I set up. Can you verify how many trained skills you're supposed to have and which ones you've chosen?
Apr 13, 2021 11:06 pm
Below is before you skill change that I hadn't done.
___________________________________________________________________________________
I have a total of 16 Class skills:

Pointman Class Skills (10 Skills): Bluff, Bureaucracy, Craft, Diplomacy, Driver, First Aid, Knowledge, Profession, Sense Motive, Sport
Versatility (6 Skills): Culture, Gather Information, Handle Animal, Intimidate, Languages, Spot

18 Skill Points: (2 skill points used for Background)
Bluff +4, Bureaucracy +1, Cultures +1, Diplomacy +1, Gather Information +1, Handle Animal +1, Intimidate +4, Sense Motive +1, Spot +4

Department Skill Bonus: +1 to Diplomacy, +1 Intimidate

Note: The Skills listed on the character are all Class Skills and none are Cross-Class Skills.

___________________________________________________________________________________

The change you made:

SKILLS
You have a limited amount of skill points, and you have certain skills you NEED TO HAVE. Because of this, you're going to almost always end up with a number of skills at max ranks, and a number that have no ranks at all. To simplify skills, and make your agents slightly more capable, do not buy skill ranks. Instead:
-- If your class says that you gain 4+Int mod skill points per level, you instead gain 4+Int mod Trained Skills. Trained Skills have a bonus of your level +3.
-- Untrained skills will gain a bonus equal to half your level, rounded up.
-- If you have a negative Int mod, you do NOT subtract it, you simply get no extra trained skills.
____________________________________________________________________________________

Results???: I have 16 Class skills. Pointman has 6 + INT.

So now I have:
6 Class Skills at Rank 4 (Base 3 + 1 (My level))
10 Class Skills at ???
All the Cross-Class Skills at 1 Rank (Half my level rounded up.)

How do I handle "(2 skill points used for Background)"

You'll have 6 trained skills at rank 4 (level + 3).
All other skills are rank 1 (0 + 1/2 level rounded up).
Your first background is free. If you want another, just lower the bonus of one of your Trained skills by the cost (in this case, 2).
Apr 14, 2021 9:27 pm
Cool. I redid over the skills. I put in a spot for languages that he knows. I dropped one of the ranks to 2 to account for the extra background. Put in Wounds value in and put in a spot to account for damages when they happen.
