The trail is simple to follow. Human, kobold and drake footprints are everywhere. The weather is cool and clear, and travel is easy. The trail leads south about twelve miles, to a more rugged region where steep sided, rocky plateaus replace the gently rolling hills. The land between the plateaus is largely flat, broken only by outcroppings and wandering streams in deep gullies.

Zsa, move towards the smoke and then return to report back if there’s danger.

I had planned on continuing to trudge forward, figuring Zsa could leg it ahead of the group a bit and find them along the trail on the way back from the smoke. I hadn’t intended to keep the group from moving.

the cat pitter-ptters off into the distance as you take a more defensive approach to movement. You've gotten about a half mile closer to the smoke plume by the time the cat returns. Apparently none the worse for wear.

There are four of those hairless apes, and twice as many of those tiny dragons. They look like beggars darling, no fashion sense at all!
They are trying to cook some kind of hens darling, but the smell!

We can try to attack them on two fronts, as they aren't likely to be really sleeping this time of day. Though 2v6 still seems like it would be difficult
