if you actually intend to hunt....

Grim is an outlander, and can find small game to feed up to 6 people automatically. Then we have an urchin and two entertainers. No rangers or druids. So yes a survival check would be the first step.

if you plan on just hiding out, waiting for the army to leave, Grim can keep you all fed

My vote is to hide out.

I'm up for hiding out. The longer we stay the more likely we are being caught

Clarice is all for hiding!

OOC:
since no one is looking for you, hiding will not be difficult. But it may be...uncomfortable.

The ground around the area is rolling and craggy, lots of crevices and large boulders to hide among. But waiting may take several days. And a fire or shelter would be seen instantly.

Let me know how far away from the camp you want to move, and how you want to spend your time waiting, and I'll let you know, well, how it goes....

I would ask if we could make it to town and back, but we don't know when they're leaving. So idk.
Jul 15, 2021 9:17 pm
OOC:
you could.... you made it from town to the camp in one (long) day.

Clarice would argue to stay close, strike shortly after the baddies march out.

I say we stay an hour away from camp. Close enough to check on it, but far enough away that random patrols won't run into us. Somewhere hidden, and not where hunting parties would go.

"Let’s get to it then. I wouldn’t mind putting some distance between us and this camp!"

Agreed. There isn't much we can do here it seems.

A few shouts from the camp can be heard as the group saunters out

"no more damn rabbits! we need some meat with some fat on it!"

"try to find some eggs!"

etc. etc.

as soon as the camp is out of sight, the group moves cautiously away. The ground is rolling, tall grasses with a few trees here and there. Giant boulders, bigger than houses, jut out of the ground. And crevasses with little rivers running through them cross the landscape from time to time.

Hiding, at least from the camp, seems pretty straight forward. Keeping an eye on it, a little less so. There are also all the typical things to consider sleeping out in the open on the Sword Coast.

Let me know how you plan to handle comfort, provisions, stealth, security, surveillance, etc. and give me an appropriate roll:
stealth, survival, perception or nature. Whichever makes the most sense, or you are the best at.

Elceran uses the cover of night to check in on the camp periodically up until they leave.

Finding what passes as a comfortable spot besides one of the large rocks, Clarice will spend any free time studying her spell book, resting, and playing with Zsa. While not as proficient as the others at scouting and keeping watch, she will still do her part, circling the camp at a distance during her turn and keeping an eye out for trouble.

When Elceran goes to scout the camp, Clarice will send Zsa to tag a long behind - just in case there is any trouble.

EDIT: Hahahahahaha...

Grim goes out to hunt for food for the group.
OOC:
Do I need a roll for this?
Jul 22, 2021 2:35 am
OOC:
A thought just occurred to me when thinking what to do during this time. Would it be possible to throw two daggers at once?
Jul 22, 2021 2:22 pm
OOC:
Grim does not require a roll to find enough food to get by. (outlander background)

I would think you could throw two daggers, (one with each hand or two with one hand) and follow the same rules as duel wielding, but with ranged attacks

sorry guys, I fell off the radar there
the group has prepared a small, simple camp, a few bedrolls and a cold dinner as a cooking fire would be way too risky. Clarice and Zsa are quietly reading, while Grim is preparing some mushrooms and truffles he found for a meal.
