When Marie digs in her claws she can really move fast. The Sandemin vineyard. She worked on their winepress just last month. Good folks, fun kids.
She is on the move directly to the vineyard as fast as she can.

Enise shifts awkwardly as people agree to her suggestion and avoids the urge to tug her cloak furtehr around herself. Her hand goes up to play with the crystal around her neck as she nods. 'I..if you give me the general area we are looking it I can try and look at possible routes tonight..'

She tries to ignore the statement the oread was at odds with the village. It would be fine. The others seemed competent, she would just have to guide them, that was all.

The the door bursts open and the alderman seems to be expecting something of them. If her. Her eyes widen as her brain tries o catch up with what happening even as Marie and Marabi rush to leave. What exactly was wrong? Would she even be able to help? Part of her wante to stay behind and ask questions but others were already out the door. She didn't want them to lose confidence in her as a guide so she draws in a deep breath and goes to head out after them.

OOC:
LOL. I didn't notice the added on writing to the starter picture. Might explain why I was a bit lost. Found now.
Grant will rise up and grabs his Betty. He quickly out the door as well. Grant is fairly sure where Sandemin vineyard is. He calls forward, I know the faster way through the forest. For a big oof and heavy armor, he keeps a fast stride with his Betty in his hands.

You all know the Sandemin vineyard, it's a little less than a mile north and east outside of the Five Lions, toward Ulver's Lance. The meadery the farmhand is from is maybe a quarter mile up the road from that.

The farmhand is clearly exhausted, but he turns to head out with the rest of you...

"It... it's the Sandemin wedding... They...", he just gasps and shakes his head, trying to stay on top of his feet while sorting out his own thoughts, "... something's wrong! ... I ...", he staggers, shaking his head even more.

"They're killing themselves!!", he goes down on his knees.

There's wet streaks caked in dirt trailing from his eyes, but it's impossible to tell if the tears are from his exertion or from whatever it is that he's seen...

Grant says as he rushes with the group, This madness must come to an end and I fear we not arrive in time. as he figures how long the boy took to get here and for us to get there.

Marabi chases after Marie. Although Marabi is naturally athletic, Marie could always beat her in a sprint. Still, over a mile, Marabi reckons she can catch up to her.
OOC:
Just filling time, until we get there.

OOC:
Enise at least seemed to be interested in more information, so I just wanted to both provide a little bit more as a baseline, and make it clear that even more information could be had, if desired. Just takes time to talk.

If you guys travel at a "Fast" pace, you can get there in ~10 minutes. No problems. But if anyone wants to get there faster than that, gimme an Athletics check please. Failure to hit a minimum DC 11 will put you at risk of Exhaustion (save vs.), but you'll still get there a little faster. Greater degrees of success may get you there even faster.

Be aware however that moving faster than your slowest comrade(s) could put you there minutes ahead of them, which could mean you're dealing with whatever is going on, alone, for several minutes. Most combat of course lasts less than a single minute...

Just some considerations.

Enise will try and keep pace with whoever is the leader of the pack.

Marié is a sprinter, not a long-distance runner. A 10 min run, back and forth means that they have been killing eachother for 20 minutes at least when they get there. She is readying herself for a gruesome sight.

What the what... killing themselves? The Sandemins seemed to be a jolly lot of people when I was there the last time.. Something must be wrong, let's go fast! Rolen exclaims and runs towards the vineyard as fast as he can
Unfortunatly though he runs straight against the doorframe. Rolen bangs his head and is unconscious for a couple of minutes. After a few minutes he can get up again.
Where is everybody? Weren't we going to try to stop some kind of murder at the Sandemin's vineyard?

Big Grant just plods ahead with Betty over his shoulder and expecting trouble but has hope none are dead, but that isn't a lot of hope.

Lets see how well Enise can keep up..

Scrol says:

Unfortunatly though he runs straight against the doorframe. Rolen bangs his head and is unconscious for a couple of minutes.
OOC:
Lol. I enjoyed that dirty zero narration. If we’re allow to nominate for inspiration, then I nominate that slapstick moment.
May 2, 2021 2:54 pm
OOC:
Heh, I was gonna place the consequence for that natty 1(/0 😅) at automatically taking the level of Exhaustion, but we can take your self-inflicted "wound" there, Scrol. And yes, thanks for the comic relief, have Inspiration!

I will still need a CON save however for not meeting the minimum Athletics threshold, DC 11 again for the save.
The farmhand is already exhausted, and even though he clearly wants to come and help too, he just isn't able to keep up. Even with Rolen, who, after getting back up soon finds him down the road and passes him, as the lads feet just drag.

"Thank you... thank you..., he gasps as Roles goes by.

Up the road at the Sandemin vineyard, Marabi and Enise arrive first, at the long narrow path that leads to the vineyard grounds. The sky is just beginning to turn orange with the sun nearing the mountain tops in the west, and with the dwindling light and cooling air comes a misty evening fog.

The two don't see anything particularly out of the ordinary, given there is a wedding going on, as they round the curve which takes them up the foothill a bit to the press and bottling building. There's several carts and horses-hobbled out front, ribbons festooning the fence-line and buildings.

Given the farmhand's warning of what was going on here, perhaps the only odd thing is that there is the faint, rythmic sound of ... music? ... coming from somewhere inside the complex.

OOC:
Alright, so we'll zoom in with Marabi and Enise on the path near the lone tree with two rocks by it, in the top right quadrant of the map.

I'll let the rest of you know when you reach that same point.

Adam and LoM, what do you do?
May 2, 2021 3:50 pm
Marabi continues down the path, dropping her sword and shield by the trees at the entrance. She then makes her way towards the music.
May 2, 2021 4:31 pm
Enise pulls to stop behind Marabi. As she watches the warrior drop her weapon and shield she voices her concern even as she continues to follow here. ' I..is that a good idea. If they are attacking one another.. at least the shield? She mumbles the last bit, but just keeps following Marabai, one hand clasped around the crystal at her take as she tries to keep her breathing calm.
May 2, 2021 4:35 pm
Marabi turns to look the quiet girl up and down, then raises a finger as though making a pronouncement.

"That is very wise, Enise. Thank you. I will get the shield. Stay close to me."

As she retrieves the board, she's scolding herself for being so impatient.
OOC:
Especially as her fighting style uses it!

When a creature you can see hits a target, other than you, within 5 feet of you with an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage the target takes by 1d10 + your proficiency bonus (to a minimum of 0 damage). You must be wielding a shield or a simple or martial weapon to use this reaction.

OOC:
ok I can see we have been sprinting then. Then Marié will sprint as well

In the future, feel free to roll such rolls on my behalf to keep the game flowing.

Rolls

(11) - 1 = 10

Rolen's head hurts like hell from the collision with the doorframe but he is determined to rech the vineyard as soon as possible. He ignores the pain and runs as fast as he can
