Scene 1
It is 3 days after harvest season has begun.
The citizen council of Five Lions called a town-hall meeting, to discuss the year's weak harvest (and indeed the previous season's too, now forming a disturbing trend). The mood was very downcast, subdued, and depressed.
The goal of the meeting was to figure out something to do about ... whatever was going on. No common sense reason seemed to align with what was happening. And a powerful Priest of Chauntea whom had been brought in was unable to affect change.
After some speculation and deliberation, it was decided that forming a group to go to the oread would be the best course of action. As a fey creature, it was speculated that she may be the most in-tune with the land.
At the end of the meeting an emergency arose, and our heroes rushed off to help.
Scene 2
What they found was that a wedding party at a local winery had been going on, in a very unnatural way, for four days. People whom had apparently danced until they dropped from complete exhaustion, extremely excessive instances of over-consumption, and abnormal levels of hostility.
Two individuals were found to be responsible, an elf and a half-elf. One of whom was seemingly capable of casting charm and entangling magicks, and the other who was seemingly using their music to enthrall the party guests into the never-ending dance and conjured mists.
When confronted, the two fled, but were eventually caught. Seemingly out of nowhere - no move was made by the elf - several animated plant-monsters emerged, and attacked everyone. The elf was killed in the confusion of the fight.
Afterward, when questioned, the half-elf seemed to not remember most of what she was accused of. It was speculated that she was possessed.
When more help arrived from town, our heroes learned that there has been other... very strange, and tragic, occurrences recently.
- A loving husband left his family in the night, was observed "speaking in tongues" and was later found dead in a stream.
- A young woman found in a field after having ripped the throat out of her neighbor's sheep. She was jailed.
- A child who jumped off of a roof believing he could fly, shattering his legs.
