Scene 1
It is 3 days after harvest season has begun.

The citizen council of Five Lions called a town-hall meeting, to discuss the year's weak harvest (and indeed the previous season's too, now forming a disturbing trend). The mood was very downcast, subdued, and depressed.

The goal of the meeting was to figure out something to do about ... whatever was going on. No common sense reason seemed to align with what was happening. And a powerful Priest of Chauntea whom had been brought in was unable to affect change.

After some speculation and deliberation, it was decided that forming a group to go to the oread would be the best course of action. As a fey creature, it was speculated that she may be the most in-tune with the land.

At the end of the meeting an emergency arose, and our heroes rushed off to help.

Scene 2
What they found was that a wedding party at a local winery had been going on, in a very unnatural way, for four days. People whom had apparently danced until they dropped from complete exhaustion, extremely excessive instances of over-consumption, and abnormal levels of hostility.

Two individuals were found to be responsible, an elf and a half-elf. One of whom was seemingly capable of casting charm and entangling magicks, and the other who was seemingly using their music to enthrall the party guests into the never-ending dance and conjured mists.

When confronted, the two fled, but were eventually caught. Seemingly out of nowhere - no move was made by the elf - several animated plant-monsters emerged, and attacked everyone. The elf was killed in the confusion of the fight.

Afterward, when questioned, the half-elf seemed to not remember most of what she was accused of. It was speculated that she was possessed.

When more help arrived from town, our heroes learned that there has been other... very strange, and tragic, occurrences recently.

- A loving husband left his family in the night, was observed "speaking in tongues" and was later found dead in a stream.

- A young woman found in a field after having ripped the throat out of her neighbor's sheep. She was jailed.

- A child who jumped off of a roof believing he could fly, shattering his legs.

Scene 3
The party embarked on the journey to the oread, intending to visit an old mountain man first who might have news of the mountain and roads.

Upon arrival at the mountain man's, it was discovered that he was afflicted with lycanthropy. Having already killed at least two people, and seeing no way out of the curse, and fearing he would inevitably kill people again, the mountain man was overwhelmed with despair and wished to die.

The lycanthrope, and the man, were destroyed with a silver sword, which he requested our heroes use to destroy the lycanthrope that afflicted him.

Scene 4
With strong emotions of sadness and loss casting a pall over the procession, and having learned from the mountain man's journal the bridge was out, our heroes left to navigate the mountain.

The trek was more technical and more treacherous than the troupe could have known, and they ended the first day completely exhausted and worn down. That night they were set upon again, seemingly out of nowhere, by animated plant-monsters and creatures of shadow, as well as an unknown figure who used darkness magic, stealth, and cunning to harry the battle and ultimately escaped.

After the battle it was observed that the plant-monster corpses turned into a rather immaterial goo and simply melted away. It was known that this was not a manifestation of conjuration magicks.

Our heroes completed the journey to the oread's peak the following day, and were only disturbed by the sounds of howling drawing ever closer to them in the night but it's source never showing.

Scene 5
Arriving at the oread's door step, our heroes used a ritual from old world, known to attract and contain fey. However, it was found that what arrived in the summoning circle was one of the animated plant-monsters! Leaving the thing in the circle, the group went to meet with the oread.

Upon arriving at the peak, the known residence of the oread for centuries if not millennia, our heroes found only a goliath woman. A veteran of decades of war who seemingly recently traveled to the peak to make herself a new home.
