The Dragon Hatchery

As you approach the camp, you find it mostly abandoned. The stinking huts of the kobolds have been burned, but the human's huts and guard towers remain.

All the wagons and pack animals are gone, but some hunters remain with their horses. And the large ornate tents off the leaders still stand, and are still guarded.

The cave mouth is at the far back of the camp, it's large, but obscured by shadow from your vantage point.

Four hunters walking a chain of 8 horses are walking slowly out of the camp's gate towards you.

"The more people that leave before we go in the better." Clarice whispers to the others as she looks for some cover to duck behind.

Elceran ducks into cover as well.

Oh, ok. Linston will try to be unseen.

"These guys are taking forever to get out of camp." Clarice whispers to the others as she keeps a close eye on the hunters milling about the gate of the camp.

"How many of those dragon eggs do you think they have?"

No clue, but if I had to guess, could be anywhere from 6 to 15 eggs. he whispers back to Clarice.

"That shouldn’t take too long once we’re in, especially if all of the big baddies are on the march."

"But what if we kept just one. How much do you think it could be worth?"

"Other than someone who would use the evil thing for their own evil purposes, who would purchase such a thing?"

"How would I know? A dragon would make a good guard dog." Elceran shrugs unseen.

"Until it eats you."

"But that could apply to anything, really."

"Especially dragons!" Clarice exclaims, a little louder than she wanted.

"I tell you what." she continues in a lower tone.

"If you want to keep an egg and raise an evil dragon to do your bidding, be my guest. Just don't come crying to me when it makes a meal out of you."

Maybe I'll keep an egg for myself tooGrim says half joking

Can we just get this done before the army comes back?

"As soon as those hunters clear out we can head in and let Grim and Elceran adopt their new pets..."

"I've seen legless cattle move faster than these hunters."

"I wonder how a legless cow would move? Do you think it would just roll along on its side?"
