Chapter 10 - The Basement

It's summer, so they wouldn't be wearing that many clothes. Definitely no scarf...
And the man's clothes would be way too thick for them.

Al pulls up her shirt until the neck is above her head. She's not about to actually take it off in front of the boys, so she more comfortably wear it around her face. It really limits her mobility but it does shade her eyes a bit. "I guess I could climb like this," she says.

Between the limited visibility caused by the strobing violent lights, and the limited freedom of movement that the shirt on her face affords, this is going to be an interesting climb for Alana.

Alana goes full on for the table leg and starts climbing. With the strobing lights it is hard to find handholds, and she soon makes a false move, sliding all the way back to the basement floor.

OOC:

this is a dark basement, and the intermittent flashes of light are tricky to move by.

As she lands on her bottom, Alana sees that the leg of the table she was trying to climb is shorter than the others by quite a bit. A thick folded piece of cardboard has been wedged underneath to give it stability.
Without the cardboard, the table would be quite unstable.

Logan stands there looking around the room and watching Al try to climb up the table leg. Walking over when she slides back down, Logan checks on her. You okay?

"Yeah, of course!", Al replies, trying not to show that that fall actually did hurt quite a bit. She looks at the wobbly table leg. "Maybe if we get that cardboard out, we could get the light-thing at the top down to us. Maybe it would already slide down to us. Or we could wobble the table until it does fall."

"Sounds good to me," he says, and walks to the base of the table leg, where the cardboard wedge is.

The table leg has a square cross-section, and one side of the square is as tall as you. The cardboard wedge sticks slightly out from the square, and Cody tries to pull it. It is stuck pretty tight, kept in place by the table weight, but there is a little leeway.

"This is going to be tough... come on, guys, let's pull together."

OOC:

it will need 4 successes in one round to dislodge the cardboard wedge. There is room to pull all together.
