As the goblins enter his reach, the massive frame of Baelrick moves into action. His heavy-headed staff rises into the air as if trying to reach the heavens, then drops back down to the mortal realm... More specifically, the realm of a goblin's skull.
OOC:
Great Attack with the staff. +25% chance. Max damage modifier.

Baelrick maneuvers to swing at the goblin who already had dodged, with a mighty swing of his staff, he hears the satisfying sound of bones breaking and the goblin falls limp on the floor. On is left, but there is still noise coming from the cave...

Third round of combat.

Combat Order (DEX+INT)/2

Tyr: 15
Goblins: 14
Peli: 14
Thallan: 13

Baelrick is up again! Only one goblin is currently in sight, but more are most likely on the way...

With a twist of the heel that seems uncharacteristic for a man of his size, Baelrick takes his wooden stave once more and swings to wollop the remaining goblin. Nasty buggers, too dangerous to be left alive!

Given the likelihood of more creatures lurking within the cave waiting to pounce, the fat man ducks back behind the dwarf to await their inevitable charge.

Tyr's prayers had a result, light erupts from the wound sealing it in an instant. From the brink of death he kept a defensive posture and stared balefully at the goblin who had stabbed him. "I am Tyr Foxfoot, son of Bestla, Called Lightbringer. Go back to the Shadow!"
OOC:
Tyr will use 2mp to heal himself for 1hp.

The goblin will take its reaction and attempt to dodge Baelrick's mighty blow... and fails.

this hit is not as devastating as the last one, but this goblin still suffers a Major Wound! He cannot hope to make his Resilience -50% roll, so he automatically falls unconscious, and will most likely die soon...

Tyr has only learnt the Heal spell at Magnitude 1, so far, he can only spend 2 Magic Point to heal 1 HP (cost for innate magic are doubled for elven lineage humans, see p.11 and p.37).

The goblins are next... Being disorganized little pests, the goblins rush in, either not noticing or not caring for their fallen comrades. The each take a different target and attempt to skewer it with their spear. Baelrick, Daglin, and Peli will each be attacked once. The attacks on Daglin an dBaelrick miss, but Peli is hit! She can use her reaction to either attempt a dodge or a parry, after which it will be her turn...

Peli yells in excitement as she sees the goblin charge at her, adrenaline making her forget all of her previous reservations against engaging in a fight. And this time it were the goblins who attacked them first, so the halfling feels much less sympathy for them than for the bear - which contributes significantly to the glee with which she raises her scimitar, prepared to parry the spear-wielding opponent. Not the best matchup of weapons, perhaps, but it will be all the more impressive if she succeeds!
OOC:
I'm going to assume that even if this fails I'll still survive and declare my actions right now. :D
Before even registering the result of their clash, Peli immediately goes on the attack, swinging her blade at the goblin with a warcry. Bean barks from below, weaving around the goblins and generally creating chaos, snapping his fangs at their legs and hands whenever possible, distracting the opponents to allow Peli to strike at them. Unfortunately it doesn't result in much success for either of them, but the experience is certainly... disordered.

Peli fails to avoit the attack and... harmlessly slides off Peli's armor.
OOC:
I'm not sure if the minimum damage is supposed to be 1 or 0, but either way, with an AP of 2, Peli is safe.
Thallan is up next!

Still showing the cool patience and skill of the fairer folk, Thallan reaches for a second arrow from his quiver. Each had been inspected by the elf, and he knew by touch the slight variations in each arrow, whether due to the fletching or an imperfection in the shaft. His fingers find the arrow he is looking for, and he draws it in a smooth motion, setting the arrow to bowstring... pulling back... breathing... and loosing. A whistling sound screams death through the air...

And the sound of arrowhead striking stone echoes through the caves. Perhaps, Thallan thinks to himself, More time should be spent in practice instead of at the tavern...

Being entangled in melee with a goblin is not what Daglin had in mind just a few hours ago. But these are dangerous times, he knows, and he decides to put all his heart in it despite his lack of practice. It is, after all, a question of life or death!

Baelrick is up again!
Aug 11, 2022 9:52 pm
It was as if there were no end to the goblins! Baelrick, clearly out of shape and not fit for combat, was already breathing heavy from striking down but two! And more kept pouring out of the cave. Raising his staff yet again, the man bears it down on the nearest goblin to him, hoping to crush the devilish creature into the ground.
OOC:
Crit, for a potential 12 damage ignoring armor. Damage, in case it negates the crit.
OOC:
Screw sorcery, Baelrick is a combat machine!

Okay, wow! That's going to be two critical hits! Well, the only hope for those goblins is to turn those critical hits into a regular hit with a critical dodge/parry...
Quickly, two staves comes crashing down towards delicate goblin skulls with great force and accuracy. will our green little friends manage to survive this onslaught? Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion to this post!

Well sunuva... Baelrick's goblin manage to dodge his attack just enough to turn it into a more sustainable blow, but considering our rotund friend's strength, this will still probably be enough to kill or at the very least down this goblin. Baelrick must roll his damage normally. As for Tyr, his goblin fails to turn the attack away, so he inflicts full weapon damage and full modifier damage which ignores armour. This will most likely result in a very dead goblin...

Oh, sorry, missed that, so yeah, two very dead goblins.
Well, speaking of goblins, the last goblin seeing all of his comrades fall runs back into the caves screeching...

So Peli is up next...
Aug 12, 2022 12:17 am
"Yeah, you show them!" Peli cheers loudly for her companions, and even Bean barks in support as both of them circle around the fallen goblins to look inside the cave - carefully, not exactly planning to get another spear thrown at them from the darkness. "Are we going inside?"
OOC:
Using movement to get to the cave mouth, delaying the standard action until Tyr moves.
If we are going in, feel free to consider Peli using standard action to move with everyone.

OOC:
Well, unless you're immediately running after the goblin, I think we can consider you're out of combat and round-by-round actions. Besides, Tyr has some kindling burning, but has yet to light a torch with it IIRC...
Aug 12, 2022 12:53 am
Tyr kicks the burning pile off his slingstaff and taking his pack off recovered a few torches. Setting to ignite them he looked into the darker bowels of the cave. "Our work is not yet done."
