Thallan will finally put an eand to that orcess' streak of amazing luck, which means that Daglin will have probably advanced to attack that female goblin... Speaking of which, Gragor is up next and will probably attempt to end those goblins. He signals his hounds to take care of the goblin attacking Peli while he makes his way to the next room to give Baelrick a hand.

One of his hounds finally hits, and puts an end to that pesky female goblin, however, Gragor himself misses his own attack.

Fifth round of combat.

A frustrated roar erupts from Baelrick as he makes powerful strikes against the tricksy goblins, themselves dodging blow after blow. But each swing brings him closer to opening the goblin's guard, and he suddenly sees his opportunity. A blow with all of his strength flows from the man, but he failed to recognize his own fatigue which lead to the aim being off.

The goblin will attempt to dodge... which it does. However, having a look at Tyr to be able to dodge his attack, the goblin now notices it is alone, and well, goblins are going to goblin, so it throws its weapon on the ground and grovels to be spared.

Daglin exhales a sigh of relief, but still feels thoroughly disappointed by his performance. Out of frustration he yells at the surrendering goblin, whether he understands him or not:
Quote:
"That served you well, you filthy treacherous, sly creature! Is there any more of your kin in these caves anyway?"

The terrified goblin merely shakes his head in a "no" motion.
Jan 1, 2023 5:21 pm
What a pitiful creature. Baelrick would hate it if was worth the emotion. But goblins were not born warlords, they were servants of the Enemy. They were cast the worst lot in life. And so the sorcerer came to a decision.

"You will flee, now, for we shall spare your life. But you must tell the rest of your kind what had happened here today. Tell them of the men and woman who fought back and won. Tell them of Baelrick, and of Breaker. And tell them that our mercy is not without limit."
Jan 1, 2023 6:49 pm
The goblin vigorously nods.

"Yess, I flee. Tell others of Bal-ruck and breker. Tank yuu, tank yuu."

It thens gets up and runs, away.

Peli catches her breath and wipes off her sweat, then looks around curiously - at the carnage and general destruction, then at her companions. "So..." She bounces on her feet. "What did we miss? Did you find Mirith? Who were these guys, more of the snake lady cult? Fitch's back at the entrance appraising stuff, by the way - I'm not sure what he is trying to find, but he should be fine! I heard the commotion and decided to investigate; he didn't want to listen to me talk about cherry pies anyway..." The halfling pouts.
Jan 3, 2023 10:01 pm
Gragor merely nods.

"Yes, more of tribe poisoned by lies of false god. But false god is dead now, and tribe is broken."
Jan 3, 2023 10:06 pm
"Mmm Cherry Pie."

Tyr mumbled leaning heavily against the doorway. He was nodding slowly as bloodloss had exhausted him. "Talk more about food, I'm pretty sure I'll die if I fall asleep."
Jan 3, 2023 10:12 pm
"It was Breaker here," Baelrick says to Peli, hoisting his stout staff, "...who smote down Miriht. A mighty foe was she, but laid low by the strength of men. There is much still here to see and do, and I would collect as many scrolls and tomes as I can carry. Alas, we have found no other captives... it would seem that the demon-bitch had been consuming them for sustenance. And speaking of food, I would not eat anything in this foul air. Corrupting, it must be."
Jan 3, 2023 10:22 pm
Tyr was muttering to himself in prayer in his foreign tongue. The light burned the wounds shut as he continued chanting he moved to Baelrick and offered him the light.

"Ooooh, sound like it was an epic battle! You should absolutely replenish yourselves with food after it, before any of you keel over from a lack of sustenance - a proper celebratory feast, once we're out of the cave!" Peli belatedly sheathes her weapon, then whistles for Bean to come to her - distracting the terrier from sniffing inquiringly at the hounds. "I can't promise cherry pies - baking on a campfire is a bit of a struggle, sorry Tyr, - but I have some tasty rations back at the wagon, so we can snack there before returning to Alhereth. Unless there is anything more left to explore?"

She turns towards the orc. "Are you coming with us, Gragor? Or are you going to your tribe?"
OOC:
PS: I know there is more to explore, but Peli probably doesn't. XD

Gragor is a bit confused by Peli's offer.

"Come with you? But pink skins have no love of green skins..."
Jan 3, 2023 11:26 pm
"We are not yet finished here, and I care little for the company of orcs. But Gargor has served us as sworn, and should be left to make his own choices. But he will not be allowed to enter city walls, no matter who might vouch for his quality. Let us concern ourselves with this after we have discovered the remaining secrets. Now, there are doors in the kitchen. Daglin, Peli, check those. Tyr, you should remain here in your wounded state. I will find all that the northern room has tried to hide, aside from orcs and wildlings."

Baelrick will notice that the norther room (which he was already in when finishing off the goblins) seems to be some sort of barracks or sleeping quarters. There are a few beds. Some well-made but old-looking and in a state of poor repairs, others have been made rather crudely with whatever wood and cloth could be found, still others are nothing more than piles of fur. There are some shortspears lines against the wall and various bags or piles of personal belongings dotted here and there between the beds... At the centre of the room, there looks to be some sort of drain or grill. Baelrick can hear the sound of running water through it (and will see running water if he does look through the grating).

For those exploring the kitchen doors, the east one will lead to a well. The sound of running water can be heard from it... The souther door leads to what looks to be a food storage. There seems to be fresh animal kills stored here, with a variety of mushrooms, roots, and leaves (these last two probably used for flavouring). There are also some pieces of meat of... dubious origin stored here...

As for Gragor, he nods in agreement with Baelrick's statement as he grabs himself a shield and leather armour from the fallen bodies.
"Gragor's happy to hear you would have him in your tribe, but Bah-el-rick is right, your towns will never accept Gragor... Maybe Gragor can follow for a little time. Gragor still need to teach Bah-el-rick the commands for the hounds."
He chuckles at his own words.

Daglin will look at the spears, evaluating their build, and at the bags and items in the room, evaluating their usefulness.
Jan 4, 2023 5:57 pm
The shortspears are exactly like the goblins and wildling were wielding. They look of crude make, but are still very serviceable (really, how difficult is it to mess up a spear?).

He then searches the various bags, piles, and knick-knacks and finds... 3 rotten meats, 2 bread crumbs, a piece of string, a frayed grubby blanket, 2 gaudy marbles, and... 5 meters of mouldy rope, and 18 glass stones.
