"Huh... Yeah, sounds good. Gragor is getting a bit peckish right now..."
Jan 19, 2023 2:20 am
Tyr gathered as much of the food as he could manage to fit in his pack and nodded assenting they should head back to the village.

You can write on your sheet you have 5 ENC worth of fresh meat, and the bag of dried herbs which effectively weighs nothing...

How much meat if he doesnt take the humanoid flesh?

OOC:
5 ENC. I already assumed you did not touch the humanoid flesh.

Baelrick slows his stride to speak with Peli, his arms filled with papers and tomes. It would seem he was heading out of the cave, and towards his cart. "Whether it was scary depends on your point of view. From mine, for example, it was merely an enchanted relic, not strong enough to influence my powerful mind. But you would have seen untold horrors dancing within the facets, and would have found the urge to harm yourself overwhelming. It is fortuitous that it was I who found it. Now as for what to do next, I suggest we finish collecting these tomes, and then we begin the journey back to town. There may be more secrets hidden here, but I cannot foresee any boons for us staying here.

Tyr agreed with Baelrick nodding and excited the cave whistling as he did. That whistle he had taught both Fylgja and Thorbjorn to respond to.

You return to the cells to meet with Finch who is finishing up with his inventory.

"Those darn savages! Of course they took my weapons! I suppose you haven't seen any scimitars laying about? They also took my pots and pans. I bet they must've soiled them with their crude cuisine. No use getting them back, I doubt I'll be able to get a good price for them now..."

You're now ready to leave back to Alhereth. Of course, there is always the mystery of that coffin back at the chapel let...

As Baelrick and Daglin had found themselves busy with deeper passages, and Tyr and Peli with foodstuffs, Thallan was left to wander the halls of this compound alone. Try as he might, he couldn't stop thinking about that blasted coffin. What was its significance? What could it contain? He finds himself for the third time standing before it, looking for any way to open it.

Even though he usually likes caves, Daglin is not disappointed to leave these ones as well. He will help to carry as many tomes as necessary, and go with the party, on its way to town.

After loading Thorbjorn with the meat, and tying him off much to his protest Tyr comes back through the cave to see a very unwise elf disturbing an enshrined sarcophagus, in the chapel of a snake demon.

"Hmm.... this ought to be fun."

He muttered to himself. Leading Thorbjorn by the bridle to the sarcophagus he looped some rope around the lid and directed Thorbjorn to pull.

Hmm, Thallan's check is a fumble...
Thallan felt that obviously, the best way to open this sarcophagus was through the use of a lever to apply force. Finding nothing to this satisfaction in the room, he tried with his own sword which promptly snapped in half. Tyr then came in and tied his bison companion to the coffin, urging him to pull, but the large bovine merely snorted in protest...

"Thorborn you don’t pull and I don't give you a treat with dinner." Tyr chided the Bison. Crossing his arms he goaded the Bison in the hip. Getting nowhere with this Tyr pulled the rope back and glared at the stubborn beast that would not pull the burden.

With broken sword and standing beside a bickering northerner and his beast, Thallan lets out a string of elven curses that would make the most despicable man blush. He storms out of the room, and tries to gain composure before rejoining the others. But it is clear to see that he is upset.

With little else to keep him at the cave, Baelrick looks at his haul of treasure (and by that, he means the tomes) stacked in his cart, and nods. "We had best be off, then. There is much work ahead of me, and perhaps one of these will explain matters more clearly."

Attracted by the commotion, Peli temporarily leaves her activity of giving Gragor her best attempts at trail rations and instead runs after the others, poking her head into the cave to see what's happening now. She eyes the sarcophagus and Baelrick's booty of dusty tomes, follows storming off Tyr with her gaze and then shrugs, deciding that it's probably better not to ask.

"Hey, do you think we should let the town know about all of this? Authorities of some sort?" She taps her pockets, looking for her map just so they don't get lost on the way back. She finds spices she bought instead and gives up on looking almost immediately, distracted by thinking of what she still needs to buy. "...I don't know if they have a town hall or anything, but we should at least inform them of what happened! Right?"

Packing Baelrick's cart with as much as Fitch's gear you can fit, and as much books and papers you can carry (you'll probably need several trips to carry all back to Alhereth), you make your way back.
The bear is leaving you alone, probably still scared of Baelrick, and now the 3 hounds accompanying you probably also help.
You manage to make it back to Alhereth Just as the sun starts dipping low on the horizon. You notice people are settling in for the night. You have maybe but a few precious minuted of daylight left to find someplace to sleep yourselves.

Upon returning to town, Baelrick heads straight for the tavern. Though he still has no money, it would be unlikely that they would turn away the savior of the town! He bursts in through the door with his mighty staff held high, and cries out to the patrons, "I have returned with tales of wonder in exchange for ale! And mighty deeds for a bed in which to rest!"
Jan 23, 2023 8:34 pm
Following his word Tyr heads straight to the elders house. Arms full of food he gives a gentle kick to the base of the door and waits for the promised feast and tales of yore.

Baelrick (and I assume most of the rest of the party) makes their way back to the tavern. The locals welcome you as heroes before someone asks the obvious.

"Wait, where are the people who disappeared?"

Meanwhiule, Tyr makes his way back to the Thimblebottom estate. He knocks on the door and is answered by the same young woman who greeted him the first time.

"You! You have some nerve coming back here! I don't know what you gave my grandpa, but we had to calm him down. Something about seeing spiders everywhere... He's okay now. He's in bed resting, but no thanks to you!"

She then slams the door in Tyr's face...
