Yeah, being smaller, Bean can squeeze in between the larger dogs. Hmm, that's a fumble on that blowgun attack... What is it with those fumbles!?
In her haste to shoot one of the wildlings, Peli accidentally inhaled her dart. She begins suffocating. Please make a Resilience check.

Peli coughs and hits herself in the chest in an attempt to get the seed out. She knew she should have used cherry ones instead!

The goblin which was about to be tied is up next. Seeing sudden reinforcements, he reconsider his surrender, using a move action to retrieve his spear, he attempts to skewer Baelrick... and it's a hit. Baelrick can use his reaction to attempt a dodge or a parry.

Baelrick saves himself the damage. Thallan is up next!
Sep 28, 2022 11:54 pm
As the goblin that should be subdued suddenly stabs at his friend, Thallan leaps to action! He takes his bow, nocks another arrow, and sidesteps to a position where he has just a narrow view of the tiny, pitiful creature! He looses the arrow, and yelps out in surprise as Baelrick's bulk moves suddenly. The arrow flies off course, striking a wall on the far side of the chamber.

Daglin is up next!
Sep 30, 2022 9:14 am
Daglin gets up, still shaken by the blow he took from his own companion. He cannot help but wince when seeing the cold blooded execution of a prisoner. Is he mingling with mindless murderers? He steps back for a while to recover from all this, still ready to defend himself - against anybody.
Sep 30, 2022 1:08 pm
Finally, the two wildings. seeing their companion fall before them, they grab their spears and both focus on a single guard dog, hoping to bring it down as this is their best hope of survival before being overrun themselves... and those attacks pitifully miss (and that damage would have sucked anyways, wow, that RNG!)

Second round of combat.

Combat Order (DEX+INT)/2
Baelrick: 16
Tyr: 15
Peli: 14
Goblin: 14
Thallan: 13
Daglin: 12
Wildlings: 12

Combat Map Tyr and Baelrick have a light source each, allowing you to see deeper into the cave and alleviating some darkness penalties (p.31 and p.56)

kalajel sent a note to kalajel
It's Baelrick's turn again!

Does Baelrick need to make that Nature Lore roll each round? Or are the pups on the offensive?
Sep 30, 2022 1:18 pm
OOC:
Really depends what you want them to do. Yeah, they're already on the offensive now, but they're also bottlenecked by the door, so all four of them won't be able to attack the remaining wildlings, also they probably won't focus fire on a single one of them either. Finally, note that even though the dogs are cool with you, there's nothing guaranteeing they might not turn on the rest of the party due to lack of targets, as that's what they would normally be used to attacking...
Sep 30, 2022 1:22 pm
OOC:
Gotcha. I'll play around with that.
I'll need to teach them the takedown. And stop, most likely, thinks Baelrick as he watches the hounds continue to tear away at the wildlings. They were vicious animals, but even the wildest must be tameable.

The two front most hounds continue moving in, each beginning an assault on the wildlings in the passage. Biting and tearing, they begin foaming at the mouth from overstimulation and exertion. It won't be long before they are worked into a frenzy even Baelrick won't be able to halt.
OOC:
Hound 1 is the top, hound 2 is the bottom. Each attacking their respective wildling.

Can't seem to edit the map on my phone, I can do so a little later.

OOC:
If you want, once the adventure is done, I'll allow you to spend an improvement point to forge a bond with any of the surviving hounds so that you don't have to roll Nature Lore each round to control them, a bit like how Peli can control Bean because since he was part of her starting gear, it is assume she spent years bonding with him before the adventure...
Also, please give me that Nature Lore check and roll damage for that successful attack.
Sep 30, 2022 2:12 pm
The attacked wildling will attempt to dodge... and succeeds (good news, he used up his reaction for the round!). The other two hounds who could not reach wildlings instead makes their way towards the rack and bark and snarl at the goblin they can't reach... Hopefully, those wildlings are the only people within reach of the barks, and no one else will come investigating...

Tyr is up next!

Tyr takes the advantage of the distracted wildling(the one who dodged) whipping a smooth stone from his pocket and taking careful aim, he hurls it as before.

Tyr's stone sails harmlessly past the wildling's head, clattering loudly some distance behind in the darkness.

Peli's up!

OOC:
Sorry, it took me longer than anticipated to get to this...
Seeing that the goblin went back on its word to surrender, Peli drops her blowgun and takes her move action to draw her scimitar, attacking the goblin from behind and form the high ground of the rack (I'll give her +25% to her attack roll). Meanwhile, Bean will squeeze between Baelrick's larger hounds and try to bite at the ankle of the nearest wildling...

Hmm, two missed attacks... The goblin will continue attacking what he's perceived to be the leader of this band: Baelrick.

And another missed attack... Thallan is up next!

Rolls

Peli's attack: 78% - (1d100, 1d8-1d4)

1d100 : (85) = 85

1d8-1d4 : (4) - (4) = 0

Bean's attack: 40% - (1d100, 1d6)

1d100 : (94) = 94

1d6 : (2) = 2

Goblin attack on Baelrick: 45% - (1d100, 1d6+1-1d4)

1d100 : (83) = 83

1d6+1-1d4 : (1) - (3) + 1 = -1

"I'll be of no use until you give me some room, friends," Thallan calls out impatiently. He waits in the back with his bow drawn.

OOC:
Hmm, Thallan could move through people and get behind Baelrick's hounds to shoot at the wildlings. There is plenty of room. Remember that each square is a 2 meters (about 5.3 foot) area. Don't let the large counters fool you.
