Miriht will attempt to parry this attack with one of her scimitars. She fails, which means she'll suffer a Major Wound! Oh yeah, and since she can't roll her Resilience with -50%, she also falls unconscious and... well... it's that fight over... Congratulations everyone! You get to pummel your unconscious enemies to death, and then kill that paralyzed beastling. You'll then be free to search that chapel in more detail.

"Baelric the Tawdry? Seems more like Foehammer."

Tyr praised his companion after the wet work was done. "As for you Orc, I know not what you will do with your freedom. But you have earned it."
Nov 10, 2022 5:10 pm
Daglin exhales in respite. "I must say, I'd rather be on your side in any fight, gents. Well done!" His smile recovered, he starts searching the temple, not willing to deal yet with the beastlings and their mistress.

With his foe smote with a single mighty blow, Baelrick struggles to keep a grin from his face. "I suppose it was time this piece of wood earned its name. Breaker." A little flourish, and the naming is complete. Baelrick and his staff Breaker.

The large man strides into the temple, hounds at his heels, and watches as the dwarf scurries around in search of treasures. Reaching into his pack, he retrieves some more treats for the hounds; they had done their duty with honor, and he wanted to ensure they understood that. Protect Baelrick, and be rewarded.

Content, his long legs carry him into the large room and before the altar. Such a piece would surely have some magicks, and that was all he was interested in.
Thallan assists Tyr in the dispatching of the enemy. It was his duty as an elf to ensure such matters completed, though it was part of his heritage he despised the most. His heart yearned for the jovialities of a tavern and good company, but he understood the necessities of life that came before such joys. With a heavy heart, he searches the bodies for anything that might have value; he as well inspects the swords that Miriht had carried.

You will notice at the south of the chapel a small table with several jars on it. The jars seems to be filled with some sort of purplish sludge which has been mixed with blood. The altar at the centre of the chapel is stained in dried blood. At the north end of the chapel there seems to be some sort of stone coffer or coffin. It is currently closed and you can't spot any obvious way to open it.

As for the bodies of the beastlings and Miriht, the beastlings each had a shortbow and 10 arrows and a battle axe. Miriht for her part was carrying 6 wicked scimitars, though she could only swing 4 of them in combat; 2 of her 6 arms look rather shriveled... This is when you remembered Miriht stating that devouring Baelrick should give her some strength back like the other magician she devoured... Was she talking about Janos? You haven't found the man yet... Searching the beastlings and Miriht more thoroughly, you find a fish bone, some bloody rags, and a single trail ration.

Answering Tyr's question, Gragor simply shrugs. "Gragor not know. Gragor has no tribe now. Life for a tribeless is harsh..."

"If Janos is still alive, he must be in another room. We will explore the puzzle of this coffin after we are sure we are safe. Baelrick moves back towards the door, and eyes the two other doors.
Nov 12, 2022 7:54 pm
Well, it's more like 3 doors now... Which door exactly do you have in mind?

Seeing that the second door in the hallway (from the entrance) and the door in the chapel seem to lead to the same room, Baelrick stands before the entrance in the chapel.
Nov 12, 2022 11:07 pm
So you're opening the door you suspect leads to the same are as the door in the chapel?

Baelrick's instincts the the two doors would connect was right. This rooms seems to be some sort of study. Paper written in a harsh-looking language floods a writing desk and a close-by shelf. A bookshelf is set up against the other wall next to a low table. Finally, a chest rests in the corner.

Not that much attracted by books, Daglin will cautiously enter the room and inspect the chest in the corner.
Nov 14, 2022 3:23 pm
The chest does not seem to be locked. In fact it doesn't seem to be able to be closed all the way as it looks to be overflowing with even more papers. With what little Daglin can see without opening the chest, those papers look far more ancient then the ones on the desk and shelf...
Nov 14, 2022 4:37 pm
Baelrick scours the bookshelves looking for any documents or tomes that seem to be about magicks, as well as any evidence of what Miriht was doing in this cave system (or what the caves were originally purposed for).
Nov 14, 2022 8:16 pm
Can you read Bestial? If so, go ahead and make a Perception check at -50% because whoever took those notes wasn't exactly meticulous or organized...
Nov 15, 2022 4:16 am
OOC:
He absolutely cannot read Beastial!
Nov 15, 2022 4:39 am
The jumble of papers looks like an absolute mess, being piled up here and there with no regard to organization. Even if you could read the foul-looking languages on those papers, you'd feel it would take you quite some time to re-organize everything in order to figure out what the papers are about...
Nov 15, 2022 5:14 pm
Daglin cautiously opens the lid of the chest with his ax.
Nov 15, 2022 5:50 pm
Opening the chest, Daglin notices it is still more paper written in this foul-looking language. There is also a dagger on top of the papers. You don't know if it was put there as a sort of paperweight to help copmress the mas of paper so the chest could be "closed", or if they intended to keep the dagger as it looks rather valuable... In fact, Daglin will immediately recognize the dagger as dwarven steel!
Nov 16, 2022 8:20 am
Daglin approaches, but not too close, and tries to identify the nature or use of the dagger.
