Since that widling is currently in a berserker furry and cannot dodge, she goes down on that attack. Next are the goblins. The on who threw their spears last round go back into the barracks to get more. Meanwhile, the one who tried to attack Bean and missed twice in a row has decided to switch target, hoping the larger Peli will be easier to hit... Oh, and that's a hit for another 4 points of damage.

Rolls

Goblin attack: 45% - (1d100, 1d6+1-1d4)

1d100 : (14) = 14

1d6+1-1d4 : (6) - (3) + 1 = 4

Peli grimaces as the sharp spearhead catches her shoulder, coming just short of pinning the halfling to the closest wall. She then tries to retaliate, swinging at the goblin in the hopes that now that they are closer to each other, it will be easier to catch her with the blade. Bean growls lowly and jumps up in the air, snapping at the goblin's arm, his grey fur bristling in all directions.
OOC:
Another Great Attack. Let's do a bit better this time, Peli?

Bean manages to bite the goblin, but sadly, the small dog fails to get enough of a grip to pierce through the goblin's leather armour.

The orcess is next, turning her attention to Thallan.

Speaking of which, Thallan is up next.

Thallan continues slashing and parrying and stabbing at/with the orc surrounded by hounds, hoping that they will keep her sufficiently distracted. But it would seem that his streak of bad luck would continue.

It is the wildlings' turn again. The one in berserker fury will attack Peli again, and the other will attack Baelrick again. Peli is hit again for 5 (well 3 after taking her armour into account), and the one attacking Baelrick misses.
OOC:
No wait, I just realized, the beserker fury wildling had been brought down earlier, disregard her attack and damage.
Gragor and the hounds are next. Gragor will move to attack the wildling on Baelrick. The hound will still attempt to bring the orcess down (and switch on the raging wildling if too many attacks hit).

The doggos all miss the orcess (as usual), and Gragor finishes up the non berserker-fury wildling.

Fourth round of combat.

Combat Order (DEX+INT)/2
Baelrick: 16
Tyr: 15
Goblin: 14
Peli: 14
Orc: 13
Thallan: 13
Daglin: 12
Wildling: 12
Gargor: 10

Battlemap Tyr and Baelrick have a light source each, allowing you to see deeper into the cave and alleviating some darkness penalties (p.31 and p.56)

Conditions:
Bean is shaken (-25% to all skill checks) for 8 rounds.
Baelrick is shaken (-25% to all skill checks) for 5 rounds.
The female wildling nearest to Peli is currently under the effect of berserker rage (auto-success Resilience checks, double % of close combat skill, cannot parry/dodge or cast spells) for 10 mins. or until end of combat. (-3 round duration)

The fight seems to be well in hand, as orc after orc falls slain to the ground. To the fray do Baelrick's eyes dart, but his keen mind moves towards the door to what he assumes is north. With haste, his large bulk rushes over corpse and through door, to face the goblins that had hid from the fight in the next room! Smash goes his staff, with the intent of breaking others.

The female goblin will continue to try and attack Peli while the remaining goblin in the other room will charge Baelrick with it's spear. The charging goblin misses Baelrick, but the female goblin scores a critical hit on Peli!

OOC:
Critical damage for this hit is 7, correct?
I guess I'll try to get a success on Dodge and upgrade it to a critical with fate - otherwise Peli is out of the picture (and probably also dead soon).
This time, Peli narrowly avoids certain death: some unknown power or seventh sense alerting her to the attack so that she can duck just in time for the weapon to hit her in the shoulder instead of chest. It still tears a nasty wound through her and the halfling stumbles backwards, wincing in pain and clutching at her side, her left arm shaking from the pain. She still manages to grin - though perhaps not as boisterously as before - and point her scimitar at the goblin. "You won't get me that easily!" The statement probably would have held more weight if the weapon didn't visibly jump in her unsteady hands.
OOC:
Spent 1 fate to upgrade Dodge into a critical success (per halfling trait) and reduce damage to 5 minus armor.
After a moment of catching her breath, Peli steels her hold and tries to attack the goblin in retaliation, with Bean following as a compact but fierce support. Rather predictably, both of them see little success: general exhaustion of combat and received wounds completely shatters Peli's focus, and her faithful canine companion struggles to find an unarmored goblin limb to snap at.

So, you're downgrading a major wound to a normal wound?
Dec 31, 2022 4:32 pm
OOC:
I don't have my book available. That's probably the best idea, or just negating death instead.

You know, let's keep him in the fight. Downgrade to a regular wound.
Dec 31, 2022 5:21 pm
OOC:
Yeah, looking at his CS's screenshot, he has 13 HP, and I think this is his first damage, so downgrading the major wound would make sense...
Thallan can attack, and then it's going to be Daglin. That orc has attacked, so she can't take a reaction (as per horde rules).
Dec 31, 2022 5:43 pm
With a sword in his side, Thallan looks down and sighs. Blazing eyes return to the orc, and his blade flashes steel in the dim light of the cave. The sword meets flesh and proves itself superior.
