Great point! The way I see it: something like grabbing your lightsaber from 5 yards away is just a small ability, so it's covered by the Force skill application--doesn't need a power. But throwing someone at a wall to do damage; now that's a Seasoned Jedi scenario in my mind! And that's when a power would come into play. I mean, in canon some Jedi never get to throw others levels!

Makes sense. The differece between moving a rock, and moving a starship

I found myself another power, that kind of fits

lol, that's how I sure see it!

Going back to the blaster deflection for example, lol, I've seen many Legends Jedi die from some good ol' blaster bolts!

Also, consider Blast, even, as a force push:
[ +- ] Blast
I'd trap that as throwing things with the force--just lacking the fine control Telekinesis gives. I'd even trap that as throwing people at walls or knocking them down, just less forcefully.

I know it's a bigger convo that's a rabbit hole, :D, but I generally don't believe in mechanics per se--I just follow buy-in and narrative permission; and I'll buy-in on most trapping you'd come up with.

I see my character as an explorer that is unphased by vacuum, posion gas's or lack of oxygen. It builds on the newly settled planet where she found a Holocron

I think I am ready to start

Cool cool. I'll get something rolling shortly!

Cool - did a tally of the initials of most of the characters I have made and saw that I have't used U and Q for a character name yet. Thus the Ura Quin name came about :)
And as always in pbp, I want a short name that I can easily spell when typing in third person.

Good to go here too

Ura and Ee-yay dig it

Just a fun fact, if I seem to know a bit about flying. Thats because I have hundreds of hours logged in flight for fixed wing aircraft and 91hours in vtol.

Still 0 for VSTOL, which is what a spaceship flies like but the fundamentals are the same.

Repulsor tech makes things stranger.

Hopefully my prose is at least coherent.

I wouldn't even know if it was! Haha, no but seriously you did make it clear, and I was definitely wonder if you had some experience flying! Very cool!

I am just wondering what is up with the rolls:

Agility - (1d6, RA)
(2) = 2

Piloting - (1d8, RA)
(8 ->5) = 13

Use the Force - (1d8, RA)
(4) = 4

I'm just wondering (1) why was agility rolled, and (2) why two skill rolls were made; was it multi-action?

Just looking for clarification! Not worries! Just want us all on to be on the same page :)

It also looks like maybe your Wild Die aren't getting rolled! My experience with the sheet automation has a Trait roll look like this:

Common Knowledge* - (1d4, 1d6, RA)

1d4 : (1) = 1

1d6 : (1) = 1

^ The d4 being the skill and the d6 being the wild.

I was wondering that as well
Skillrolls are the skilldie
ability rolls are the ability die
Because we are players we are "Wild cards" and have the wild die to all rolls
Jul 22, 2022 2:53 pm
And to add to runekyndig's point, Abilities are very rarely rolled--outside of "saves." You'll never roll an Ability to "do something" only to "avoid something" as response to an opposed Skill.

and the abilities are the cap of the underlining skills as I recall. You can't have a d8 in a skill unless the ability is also a d8 or above

This is absolutely correct.

Wait, I misread this. This is wrong. You can have a skill higher than the ability--it just costs more (2 points rather than 1 point if it takes it over the linked attribute dice size).

O.K., lol, it does look like I we need to look over your sheet Jomsviking! It's all good though--easy fixes!
Jul 22, 2022 4:30 pm
O.K., with three Edges -- Brawny, Brute, Charismatic -- you'd spend all your hinderances points.

Meaning, we have too many d8s in your Traits.

If we go, just top to bottom in your skills...
Athletics - d8
Common Knowledge - d4
Notice -d6
Persuasion - D8
Stealth - d4
Fighting - D6
Piloting - D8
Focus - D8
Language - D8
...we'd hit 12 points spent by the time we get to Pilot d8.
Jul 22, 2022 4:36 pm
For example, this spread would work:

Athletics - d6 (2 points | agility 6)
Common Knowledge - d4 (Free)
Notice -d6 (2 point | Smarts 4)
Persuasion - D8 (2 points | Spirit 8)
Stealth - d4 (Free)
Fighting - D6 (2 points | agility 6)
Piloting - D6 (2 points | agility 6)
Focus - D4 (1 point | spirit 8)
Language - D4 (1 point | smarts 4)

That's 12 points spread.

I'm also not sure where you are getting +1 to strength.
