You reach the landing bay just a light freighter settles onto its landing gear. Once the ramp is down, Ken and AD-hoc recognize the human woman striding toward them. Danith 'Dancy' Colton.

[b]"Ken Tetsu, well you guys have certainly been busy since we all blasted out of Raxus. You know they told me this place didn't have a bar and then they told me you were here. Tell me both of those statements can't coexist..."

"Ken insisted that we needed several varieties of libations. I am genuinely surprised he was correct" AD-hoc adds. Still thinking of several more practical options for the copious amount of space the bar takes up on the ship.

As you turn to head for the Ghest you notice a Human male come down the ramp from Dancy's ship. She nods at him to follow and as he approaches. She says, "Ken and team, Tomas. Tomas, meet the team."

Once you're all seated with a drink, Dancy picks up again.

"I have a target of opportunity and I know you guys never miss picking up what someone else leaves unattended." Smiling at the group, she takes a sip and continues. "The Empire is ramping up its presence on Obroa-skai, it appears it will be quite a significant presence once they are done. In the meantime, supply ships are dropping in faster than they can be unloaded. I've just been told that they have had to resort to creating makeshift landing yards on the outskirts of the city to park ships until they can get to them. That, gentlemen, is our opportunity, a landing yard full of light and medium freighters, stuffed with military supplies. Now all we need is an intrepid group of entrepreneurs to acquire a ship and I'll handle the resale."

Ken nods to Tomas and offers the human a bright golden Nova Blaster in a high ball glass. He sips his own and the cold drink slips down like liquid gold, pure class. Sighing contentedly he says 'Piracy you say?' and laughs, covering up one of his eyes with his hand like an eye patch. 'Sounds risky. We got a way to get in and out without being shot down?' He gestures at Tomas, 'And what's the human's part in this?' Ken's always dubious about humans. They don't seem to have the staying power of other species.

"My ship out there is loaded with standard imports, food and the like. On final approach, you guys can para glide out the back. That should allow you to land within a couple klicks of the landing yard. Getting out without getting shot is kinda the job. Hopefully, if you're quick and quiet you can be off the ground and have a head start before anyone comes after you. As for Tomas, I had just hired him to be part of the mission when I found out you guys might be available. I figured it might be easier to add him to your team than to keep trying to put together a whole team from scratch. Besides, he can fly and knows his way around a blaster, gotta be useful. "

She winks at Ken and covers one eye. "Rrrr, you in?

Tomas nods to the crew in greeting, hands on his hips. His face is young, though it looks like he's no stranger to scrapes.

"Greetings. Glad to be aboard." His voice sounds calm, but reserved. His eyes make it clear he's doing some sizing up as he looks around at his new companions. And there's something else about his face making the subtle implication that he isn't entirely happy. It isn't written all over him, but the hint is there for anyone with the eyes to see it.

"You had me at paraglide into enemy territory." Nox sighs with a contented smile. "Now this is what I've been looking for!"

Nox gives a look-over to the newcomer, looks at Meebo to gauge his assessment, and then greets the new guy. "Good to meet you Tomas. Name's Nox."

AD-hoc replies in confusion "Not only are you willing to risk gliding into an unauthorized zone, stealing from the Empire, and risk being shot at upon exit, but you are enthusiastic about it?" the droid's demeaner hides his utter befuddlement.

Tomas nods to Nox, returning his greeting, before saying to the group (with a bit of a sigh), "Alright, when do we get started?"

Ken flashed his disconcerting thin-lipped Rodian-smile at Dancy. 'For you, anything my dear,' and gives an elaborate bow.

He notices Tomas's reticence, 'Hey, we can always use an extra blaster but if you're not up for it now's the time to back out. Before the shooting starts.'

The usually talkative Meebo has his head buried in a datapad for most of the conversation. He's reading specs on the blaster rifle he picked up from the battle droids, thinking about potential mods. He looks up when he hears someone mention "shooting".

"Hmm? What?" he says, looking around the table. He does a double-take as his gaze passes over Tomas, as if he only just noticed the new arrival. "Oh, hi. I'm Meebo. I'm one of the ones that does the shooting." Then he looks off to one side as he tries to pull pieces of the half-heard conversation into something coherent. "So... we're stealing a ship?"

Dancy finishes her drink and stands up.

"Excellent, I'm going to take a quick stroll around and check out this place. Then I'll head back to my ship, we can leave whenever you folks get your gear together. "

Tomas eyes Ken with a confidence trailing off to a small despair as he speaks. "Don't worry, I'm game. This is just my first under-board gig. I was hoping things wouldn't come to this, but that's life I guess."

He then looks over to Meebo, answering with a pained smile, "I think we're all going to be shooting on this one, my little friend."

Ken shrugs. He's not sure he's ever done anything above board. 'You get used to it,' he says. 'And the rewards are good,' he gestures to their ship, The Slippery Ghest, bounty from their last go at stealing a ship.

You gather together aboard Dancy's ship, an 4R3 Light Transport. A relatively non-descript ship with no visible weapons. Dancy is in the cockpit with an older looking R4 droid. It looks like she's started the pre-flight checks.

"Welcome aboard, cargo bay and the para gliders are all the way in the back. We'll be on our way as soon as your settled."

Tomas takes in the sights with interest, though not in an overly obvious manner, and he casually tries to keep some distance between himself and the others. His observation becomes a bit more keen when he enters the cockpit. He slightly nods at times as eyes dart here and there, soaking it in.

Without any equipment to stow, or a need to sleep, AD-hoc skips the search for a bunk, and sticks to his normal routine. The Droid heads to the engine room,and listens to the hum of the machinery.

Meebo picks a paraglider and checks it out, making sure everything is in order - and most importantly adjusting the harness to his size. Then he checks over the rest of his gear, and finally finds a spot to take a nap during the rest of the trip.

Nox admires the paragliders and picks out what he considers to be the fastest looking one. He makes sure his bag is ready and investigates around the cargo bay for a while.

After checking out the cockpit (and chatting as little as politely possible with the pilot), Tomas secures his own little space in the vessel, and then examines the paragliders. At first he sets one aside to use for himself, but then wonders if the others would be suspicious of this. "So this is what it's like," he thinks, "going illegitimate. Suspicion all the time; never being able to trust anyone." He sighs as he places his paraglider back in with the rest. After this he slowly begins making his way back to his bunk.

Once everyone is settled, Dancy lifts the ship out of the landing bay and maneuvers for the jump. The hours in hyperspace speed by as everyone finds their own way to pass the time.

Arriving in Obroa-skai, those choosing to look outside can tell there is an excess of ship traffic. Dancy's droid transmits the ship's information as she pulls into the approaching ship queue. Checking her console, she speaks over her shoulder. "The lines aren't as bad as I expected, we should be cruising toward the shipyards in about 17 minutes. I'll lower the cargo ramp at that time and you can go from there. We're coming in from the west and the temporary ship pads are set up to the south west of the city. You should be able to get fairly close before you need to set down."

Ken grabs the biggest and most ostentatious bunk he can the moment he's aboard and then spends the rest of the journey messing about in the galley doing the best he can to make cocktails with the meagre beverages on offer.

On entering Obroa-skai airspace he reluctantly downs the last of his drink and starts picking up his equipment. 'I think we'll be travelling light for this one gentlemen.' He pulls across the velcro fastener to secure his jacket, thumping his chest to reassure himself the plastoid plate is still in there after having the suit repaired. He slips in a holdout blaster and some brass knuckles before holstering his heavy blaster at his hip and securing it with a thumb break. He looks over his selection of grenades, 'I think this is going to be more of a frag grenade kind of day,' he says, popping three frag grenades and a stun grenade into his webbing along with some stimpacks. Finally he pulls on his scanner goggles, connects up his comlink headset, and fastens a rebreather over his mouth.

He strolls over and grabs the nearest paraglider without checking it, he knows Dancy's reliable. He crouches beside the cargo ramp, 'Insertion in T minus...'

Tomas hear the announcement and takes a breath to center himself. He spends much of those seventeen minutes in a meditative state.

When near the time of insertion, Tomas makes his way to the cargo bay. When he passes by Meebo he calls out, "Wake up my sleepy little friend! Time to die!"

It's not long before Tomas takes up one of the gliders. He figures if it's faulty it will only serve him right. He looks over at Ken, hearing him speak. He replies, with a hint of sorrow, "I always travel light." And as he puts on and tightens his gear he adds, "You must blow up a lot of stuff, huh? And people too, I'm sure?"

Nox works through much of the same checklist that Ken does. The difference being that Ken has far gear than Nox, meaning that Nox finishes securing his gear early and has the remainder of the time to spend drooling over all the cool gadgets that Ken has.

"Ken, when we finish this job, you have got to introduce me to your supplier."

Looking to Tomas with a smile, "Die here? No way! Now if we were parajumping into a Nexu nest with only a combat knife, then those might be deadly odds. As it is, you've found yourself in the company of some competent individuals, or at least that's what I've found."

Tomas listens to Nox and can't help but sport a somewhat incredulous look. "I'll have to take your word for it - and Dancy's." After a sigh, he adds, "I have to admit, I've never done anything like this. I mean, I've been in harm's way, been shot at, that sort of thing, but this is... different, and not just because it's under-board. This is the Empire. We're about to throw rocks into the krayt dragon's nest."

AD-hoc arrives just in time to catch the very end of the conversation..not quite grasping metaphors yet,he ask: "Has the mission changed? That seems less profitable and more dangerous. Are Krayts indigenous to this planet? Will I still need to risk my circuits in one of these gliding contraptions?

Meebo startles awake when Tomas wakes him.

"Die?" he says as he rubs his eyes and then blinks a few times. Then he yawns. "No time to die. Got a job to do," he says, his energy slowly ramping up to its usual levels. Then he starts gathering his gear together and getting prepared.

It doesn't take too long for him to be strapped into his paraglider and ready to go. He listens to everyone's banter, but most of his attention is on his gear - checking and re-checking. He's not afraid of the jump, or the mission in general. But he does want to make sure he's fully prepared.

After AD-hoc arrives, Meebo smiles. "Still the same job. Still gliding in on contraptions. But we should get to fly back out in style," he says with a smile.

"See you back at base." Echos over the ships speakers as the cargo ramp lowers into position. As you walk down the ramp and consider the minimal instruments on the paragliders, you realize you're at 250 meters. Anyone with pilot training realizes that you're probably low enough that any scanners will dismiss you as back scatter or ground induced noise. It looks like Dancy is giving you as good a chance as you'll get to land undetected. In your own order, you each step off the ramp and deploy the glider wings.

As the ramp descends Ken gives his paraglider a brief once over and then sets off for the opening with a run. 'See you down there. Don't get killed.' As he sprints past AD-hoc he shouts 'Try and follow me down' and leaps into the atmosphere, deploying the paraglider wings and circling down towards the landing zone.

So that's just my 4AGL plus the Blue for the +1 Handling. If I get any Advantages can I pass them to AD-Hoc? Chocks away...

Four paragliders and a meteor exit the ship, the four paragliders bank quickly around toward the southwest as the meteor begins scribing a course towards the ground.

AD-hoc's paraglider wings deploy but he seems to be pointing straight down, running the numbers, gravity, air resistance, terminal velocity... 7.8 seconds until 'landing'. He should pull up.

AD‐hoc was about to reply to Ken that his advice wasn't needed, but to anyone watching, it most likely appeared that the Droid didn't know what he was doing. "Thank you, attempting to reduce velocity now." Sure, AD-hoc knew what needed to be done, but actually executing it....

Ok, so anyone can attempt a Hard (3P) Piloting check to fly up to and push AD-hoc in the right direction. Success will mean he gets a piloting roll to regain control, failure means his next roll is to mitigate crash damage. Ken, since you asked, you can choose to RP feeding AD-hoc instructions to change those advantages into bonus dice for him on the next roll.

Circling above the rapidly plummeting droid, Ken focuses on his commlink, he tries to envisage in words what he does instinctively when flying the paraglider. He's got to give clear and unambiguous instructions the overly literal droid can understand and follow.

'Listen to me carefully AD-Hoc. Use your right hand to pull the blue handle above you, that'll give you some lift. Now, grab the yellow cord with your left hand and gently slide it down, that will turn you to the left and start a slower downward spiral. If it turns too fast let it slip back a little. Keep the balance, right hand, left hand. Now legs up and brace for impact in...'

AD-hoc follows Ken's direction and with the nudge from Nox pulls out of his dive. He's lost a lot of altitude and will have to set down soon. Nox is in a similar position, having sacrificed his altitude and speed to assist AD-hoc. He'll need to be picking a spot to land soon. The others are still high enough to make most of the distance to the edge of town before landing, if they choose.

You guys were aiming to land about 2 klicks from the ships. AD-hoc will be hitting the ground landing around 5 klicks out and Nox will need to come down pretty soon after.

Tomas realizes they're much farther out than expected. He figures, "Well, that's just a great start to this insanity." But it's still a strange(?) relief to see Ad-Hoc getting righted.

It's also with some pleasure that Tomas feels the wind in his face and in his hair, and sees the landscape as it passes by. "There's always beauty if you know how to see it, and feel it..."

Watching AD-hoc and Nox getting close to the ground, Ken looks out into the distance to see the planned landing site. 'Nice flying you two. I'm going to come down about a kilometre ahead of AD-hoc,' he says over the comlink and looks for somewhere to come down and secure a defendable firing position.

Ken will try and land about 3 1/2 km out from the target (i.e. about 1 1/2 km from where AD-Hoc and Nox are landing) He'll wait for them to catch up and try and keep a secure postion in the meantime

Meebo makes a high-pitced sound that is barely within the hearing range of most species - a chadra-fan obscenity of sorts. He doesn't like the idea of splitting up, but he's also not keen on talking about it over the comms. He thinks briefly about following Ken, but decides he doesn't want to leave his buddy Nox behind. So he glides down to where he and AD-hoc are landing.

Tomas sees what the others are doing and figures someone should probably be with Ken, and aims to land near him. He's quite frustrated that things are already not going according to plan. He chides himself. He knows it's just fear.

The ground is light scrub, some grass and scattered trees. AD-hoc has no trouble landing now that he's gotten control. The two groups reach the ground without further incident.

Nox, Meebo and AD-hoc can see that Ken and Vespin have put down in roughly the right direction. From a rise where they landed, Ken and Vespin can make out the city in the distance.

Tomas detaches himself from the flight contraptions. "So here we are!" he says, reaching down for his blaster. But right before he pulls it, he figures it's probably a bit early for that. Instead he begins to look around for any danger. "Ken! Did you see anything on the way down? Are we good?"

Ken notes they are just over 3 klicks from the landing area. Probably an extra 10 minutes of hiking more than planned, once the others catch up. You can see the landing area and even from here it looks large and make shift.

As Nox, Meebo, and AD-hoc head off towards the others, Vespin pulls out his scanning gear.

Vespin sweeps the area and finds nothing additional.

Ken tries to keep in cover while approaching the landing area, he doesn't want to have to explain what he's doing out here on foot. Once they're nearby he will stroll in amongst the crates and fuel tanks like he owns the place, looking out for a target.

Meebo is most interested in looking for movement - both on the ground and in cockpits (if any are visible. A secondary priority would be to look for surveilance equipment that might be watching the area.

As you get closer to the landing area you notice how quickly this was erected. The 5-meter posts that hold up the perimeter fence have been jammed into the ground and none of them appear to be plumb. The fence itself is rows of electrified lines .25 meters apart starting .25 meters from the ground and going about 3 meters up. Circling around towards the main gate, you can see the rows of ships, the 'temporary' landing area is nearly 100 meters deep and close to 300 meters long. On the side away from where you landed, there is an opening in the fence, about 5 meters. A couple of Imperial army stand on either side of the opening as a stream of loader and lifter droids move cargo onto waiting speeder trucks. It seems they are unloading some of the smaller ships while waiting to move the bigger ships to the starport.

AD-hoc turns his photoreceptors towards the fence. His instinct, or programming rather, really wants to start making improvements. For now though, he wants to see if the sub-par construction will allow them undetected access.

So, I guess I want to know if it's possible to work on the fence to allow us to get it, or know how much damage AD-how would take if he just ripped a hole in it. I'm assuming Perception? (but would happily roll Mechanics instead :) )

Just as Meebo is mentioning the power connections, AD-hoc spots a transformer box about 50m further down the fence. It's kind of in the open, but no one seems to be paying it much attention.

AD-hoc - If you touch the wires (hands or possibly tools), the wire gets an easy attack on you with a base damage of 10. Successfully cutting or ripping at the wires would create a chance that the loose ends connect other wires and make sparks, etc. :) Depends on if your going for Stealth or Diversion.

@Mephistophilis, Not really. The ships are coming and going at a fairly steady rate. The whole thing is to supply a military buildup here. So you could find anything from stacks of durasteel, crates of speeder bikes or cases of ration packs. It's very much a circus of activity inside the fence.

There are a lot of droids and other folks, (humans in Imperial uniforms of various sorts) moving in and out of the gate area. The guards seem to be more interested in the in&out traffic than anything else. Ripping through the fence would be reckless and spectacular.

With the push of a button, nothing visible happens. Meebo and AD-hoc both note the fading of the hum that the fence must have been making. They realize that the fence is now off. One of the guards at the front gate starts to step towards the fence but is distracted by a group of workers walking between him and the fence.

Ken jogs over to the fence, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. He climbs between the hopefully no longer electrified wires and tries to merge into the crowd on the other side without being seen by the guards.

Nothing jumps out as a winner for Ken, but he does notice that the smaller ships, the ones being offloaded onto trucks, are all closer to the gate. The larger ones, the ones just waiting to be moved over to the starport are parked farther from the gate.

AD-hoc spots several Astromech droids moving around the parked ships, apparently doing routine checks.

The team moves out, following closely behind Nox. It's not long until you reach the end of the smaller freighters, the medium freighters have a little more space around them and aren't tucked in as close as the smaller ones. Most of them have their ramps down and several have various crew members milling around.

As the crew approaches the nearest freighter, several of the Imperial clad pilots/crew that were milling about stop and stare at them. Out of the corner of your eyes, you see AD-hoc firing his goo gun at an Astromech droid that goes screeching off toward the gate. Hopefully that means his distraction is working as planned.

One of the pilots steps towards you, "Hey, are guys supposed to be here?"

The pilot thinks about Nox's answer for a second before responding. "Probably can't hurt, never been somewhere so backed up moving supplies into a place. I think I saw some ships farther down the line that looked civi." He motions towards the back of the landing area.

AD-hoc, you see your R2 unit double time it up to some guards near the front gate, he immediately starts beeping wildly at them. Since they probably don't understand 'Droid', it may take them a few minutes to figure out what he's saying.

"Alrighty then. Which ship do you think? That one looks nice. Or that one?" Meebos says as he he points at nearby military ships that have their ramps down but don't seem to have too many people around them.

Meebo is hoping to get some kind of indication from Nox or Ken about which ship to go after. If someone indicates one seems better than the others, he fixates on that one. If no one makes a preference known, he just fixes on one with the fewest people around it - or the nearest one if they're all the same.
Meebo digs a tool of some kind and his droid scanner out of his pack, then shoves his blaster rifle at Nox. "Here," he says. "Somebody carry this. Use it or don't use it, but please don't lose it. Now, give me a minute, then come back me up." Before anyone can ask him what he means, Meebo starts jogging towards the chosen ship.

As he approaches, Meebo waves his scanner at the imperials around the ship, as if it is some kind of credential. "Hey. R2-54 said that C-2X9 said that the deck chief said they were getting some weird readings off this thing when you landed," he says to the closest crewman. His intent is to jog right up the ramp without stopping, chattering the whole time. "Grolf is busy, so he asked Shandra to ask me to run a diagnostic. Gotta keep this operation moving you know. Oh, and if Fibitz comes over here with gravity locks, don't let him put those on your ship. I told him it's fine, but he's just itching to gravity lock something. Aqualish - am I right?"

Meebo is trying to confuse as much as deceive the crewmen, really just hoping to get all their attention focused on him and causing them to hesitate for a moment. He's hoping his friends will take advantage of whatever distraction results. I'll throw a standard Deception check just in case it's relevant.

As the group was pondering their target, Meebo darts off to the left and up the ramp of one of the ships. An unending stream of nonsense pours forth from him as he strides past the couple of crewmen nearest the ramp. As you pause for a second at this surprising departure, from your right you hear, "ID badges, show 'em". Looking toward the sound of the voice you see six stormtroopers in a double line. The lead one has one hand out and seems to be waiting for your ID.

Ken fumbles in his jacket, 'It's in here somewhere, just give me a moment.' His hand closes on a stun grenade and he activates it with his thumb. 'Ah, here it is officer, this is what you're looking for...' And he throws the grenade into the crowd of stormtroopers. 'Follow Meebo' he shouts as he attempts dodge around the Imperials and sprint after the Chadra-Fan.

So Ken will chuck a stun grenade at the Imps. Disorient 3. Stun Damage. Blast 8. Not too sure how we deal with someone getting all aggressive in such an unexpected way - whether we get a free attack or have to roll initiative. I think that's Ranged Light and I'm giving myself a Blue for surprise and another Blue for Quick Strike. I'll also chuck in a Cool roll in case it is needed for Initiative and spend some Strain on Rapid Reaction for a success and some on Side Step to upgrade the difficulty of attacks against Ken. He has Quick Draw so it should be easy enough to pull out the grenade. Presume we're at Short Range. This could all go very very wrong very very quickly!

Okay. Not bad. Let's use those Advantages to trigger Blast. So 10 stun damage to anyone engaged with the target (most of the Stormtroopers I hope). I'll take the spare advantage to reduce the strain. So that leaves a Triumph. I guess anything that facilitates us getting past the Imperials and onto that ship.

As Ken pulls the grenade from his jacket, the lead Stormtrooper snaps up his rifle and yells "Grenade!"

The troopers immediately back up and fan out, with the two closest to Ken firing at him.

And they Miss. Ken tosses the grenade at the feet of the lead Stormtrooper and it goes off with a blue flash. Dropping the trooper and the two troopers flanking him. Three down and three to go.

Nox's volley catches the one Vespin had shot and the one beside him and they both go down. AD-hoc is nearly back to the group and is now hearing and seeing some flashes of stun blasts. Meebo is well inside the ship but you can faintly hear the sounds of blasters from outside the ship as they echo up the ramp.

The remaining Stormtrooper fires at Nox.

Ken hasn't switched his heavy blaster to stun, the thought doesn't even cross his mind when it comes to Imperials. He calmly levels it at the remaining trooper to finish him off, execution style to the head.

Then he continues his run into the ship. Looking out for Meebo and any more trouble.

He'll spend 1 strain for Side Step to upgrade the difficulty of any incoming attacks (he's also got |Defence 1 from his armoured clothing). I think/hope that 10 damage should finish off the stormtrooper. Advantage to regain strain.

Ken's shot does indeed drop the remaining stormtrooper. As he begins to run towards the ship Meebo entered, you all hear the wind up of the sirens posted around the landing area. The Imperial crewmen that had been standing around start to come to their senses. Most are not armed and suddenly start running away from you.

Ken just blinks, uncomprehendingly at Tomas. 'My clan was exterminated by Navik the Red, exiled from Rodia, hunted and murdered. The few of us left scratch in the dirt of Hutta Town's skyslums to survive, always looking over our shoulders for the Chattza hunters coming to finish the job.' He taps Tomas on the chest with his blaster. 'Everyone has to die sometime, no shame in that. I made sure his day was today and mine was not.' He shrugs. 'You humans don't understand. Maya outmian. Du Rodia murishani, Du Rodia crispo. Soon haku jee jee che.'

Ignoring anything further Tomas has to say, Ken sprints up the ramp into the ship, looking for anyone putting up a struggle to finish off.

Once the ship is secure Ken will radio Nox to prep for takeoff and man one of the weapon turrets (if there are any) and start taking pot shots at the ships in the vicinity in order to discourage any attackers.

When Meebo first got on the ship, his first priority was to see if anyone else was in the ship. If he found one person, he was going to try to stun them. If more than one, he was going to do more talking. Seems like the ship may have been empty though.

If there was any time after the sweep, his next step was going to be to start the ship up. Meebo doesn't want to be the pilot, but he knows enough (1 Piloting skill) to turn the power on.

AD-hoc is close enough to the ship to see the Ken and Tomas run up the ramp. Meebo has not encountered anyone, he moves to the bridge. Wow, medium freighters are way bigger than the ships Meebo is used to. There are eight seats on the bridge... He moves to one of the pilot positions and starts bringing up the power. A few moments later Nox enters the bridge and after a pause, joins Meebo in powering things up. Ken heads down the main corridor looking for the guns.

'Hey, Meebo, kill the lights in the main corridor,' he activates his scanner goggles. Hoping they'll give him an advantage over any attackers in the dark.

"Switches flipping!" Meebo may not be a great pilot, but he's a good co-pilot. At least, he thinks he is. While Nox is focuses on getting the ship flying, Meebo goes through some basic diagnostic checks. When Ken asks for lights out, he shrugs but complies.

Ken and AD-hoc move through the dark corridors, clearing the rooms of the main level one at a time. It does appear that the entire crew was not aboard. Nox can feel the power systems coming online and the buzz of the systems begin to fill the air. Looking up he notes AD-hoc's 'mess' has finally arrived. A squad of Stormtroopers is in the process of setting up an E-web blaster and one of them appears to be 'talking' to the ship.

Nox waves at the trooper who seems to be attempting contact, showing him the universal signal for "I can't hear you". He then switches through a few channels on the public comms frequencies attempting to make contact. Nox does all of this as slowly as seems reasonable, still trying to stall for the ship to warm up and Ken to get a shot in.

Nox is busy miming at the Stormtrooper when the port laser turret tosses a few shots at the assembled troopers. It's not able to angle close enough to get the E-web, but the nearby shots cause the troops to scatter for a moment and reassess. Nox spots 4 troops and an R2 unit run up under the cockpit towards the ramp.

Nox, go ahead and give us a Piloting check, with a boost from Meebo to fire up the engines and be ready for take off.

Ken, none of the other freighters seem to be lifting off. You can tell that most of the crews that were on the ground have gone running for cover. But your pretty sure, once in the air, someone will come for you.

Realising there'll be no need to shoot up any ships if they don't get off the ground, Ken leaves the turret and joins the fight on the ramp. He glances at the frag grenade he's found himself about to throw, probably not a good idea inside the ship.

He whips out his heavy blaster and opens fire.

Tomas open withs a few shots at the stormtroopers, one strikes the lead trooper and staggers him. Firing from farther back down the corridor, Ken's shots fly between AD-hoc and Tomas, finishing the lead trooper and wounding the one behind him.

Meebo takes off from his seat, draws his blaster and makes it to the corridor beside AD-hoc.
OOC:
AD-hoc, you can make a computers (RRP) or mechanics (RR) check to get the door to close it and temporarily lock the outer controls.

After the stormtroopers go, it will be Tomas, AD-Hoc, Ken and Meebo. Nox's action is parallel, so you can chime in when you can.

Tomas and AD-hoc, you both have 10 damage coming in.

AD-hoc calculates the best course of action would be to close the ramp. They need to leave, and not getting shot at again would also be beneficial. Knowing what needs to be done, and being able to accomplish it, are different things though.

My intention is to create a seperation between the ship and the ground that is enough to prevent further entry but not necessarily high enough to be a deadly fall.

Tomas's shots slam into one of the remaining troopers knocking him to the deck. AD-hoc fails to convince the ramp to close, but the mechanical back and forth makes it jerk about and become unstable. As Nox lifts and begins to maneuver the ship, anyone not able to grab something is shifted off balance.
OOC:
Nox's maneuvering causes anyone not able to brace to need an Agility check or fall down. Based on everyone's location, I'm pretty sure that's only the Stormtroopers who do so at a penalty because AD-hoc's Triumph is making the ramp twitch up and down.

Meebo's blasts knock the one standing trooper backward off of the partially open ramp. The remaining trooper, knocked down by Tomas's shots clings onto the ramp. AD-hoc realizes that when they lifted, the R2 unit he was fighting with became detached from the outside controls.

The trooper stands and fires at Meebo and Misses.

is a check needed to close the ramp? If not, AD-hoc will get to one of the ships computer terminals, using two manuevers to get there this turn if needed.

Seeing the rear hatch now closed and hearing no more blaster fire, Nox begins to take the ship up.

"Attention everyone, this is your pilot speaking. Please have a seat and fasten your seat belts. We are commencing our takeoff and may find some minor turbulence. Please feel free to shoot down any and all pursuing craft. Thank you for flying Imperial air." For a split second Nox's laughter can be heard over the comms before they turn off.

Ken and Vespin make it into their respective turrets and Ken can see the Imperials on the ground running for cover, especially after the turret points in their direction.

The landing field falls away quickly as Nox and Meebo guide the ship out of the atmosphere. The hails from the Imperial picket ship comes in quickly, almost as quickly as the 4 Ties bearing down on you.

Clocking the TIEs coming in at range and realising he won't be able to hit them with the laser cannons, Ken radios 'I'm going for the turbolaser.' He slides out the port turret and sprints to the dorsal turret. He jumps into the firing seat and powers up the targeting computer. 'Let's show them we mean business.' He begins tracking the nearest pair of TIEs, waiting until he can get off a shot.

Nox manages to find a signal coming from the small picket ship at long range in 'front' of you. "... freighter, cut your engines and prepare to be boarded." About which time you see the flash from the dorsal turret.

The first of the Ties erupts as the turbolaser blast is really a little excessive for such targets.

@Meebo- yes. So, Ken hustled out of the dorsal turret to one of the side turrets, opposite Tomas and Meebo ended up in the dorsal turret.
Tomas's turret spews out a volley of laser fire that connects solidly with one of the Ties and it explodes.

The lead element now gone; the second pair of ships opens fire.

The lights flicker for a second as the Ties rake across the ship, your shields absorbing the damage.

As AD-hoc is the only other one on the bridge, he alone witnesses the flurry of actions taken by Nox as he flips switches and directs levers across the multi-crew command console. AD-hoc also wonders what it was all for, as the ship continues on straight towards the approaching Imperial picket ship.

Meebo vacates he dorsal turbo laser as he realizes the ship isn't really maneuvering. He figures any ship with 8 stations on the bridge might be more than Nox can handle alone and heads back to co-pilot.

Tomas and Ken spin their turrets forward and spot the light Imperial corvette moving across their path. The ship is still at long range and they are closing steadily.

The crew of the Imperial ship begins firing, their still not in range, but it's something before the freighter jumps away into hyperspace.

Tomas, who was holding onto something at the back of the bridge by the time the ship went into hyperspace, is visibly relieved at their escape. He says quietly to himself, "Now I get to be even more afraid of the Empire. Great." He answers Nox with, "Still breathing."

As tensions relax somewhat among the crew, he asks, "So are we away? Did we do it?"

Ken finds no residual crew, but he's surprised to the see the cargo hold. Other than a meter wide path down the center, it's completely full of shipping containers. As ubiquitous as they are plain, they are stacked end to end and floor to ceiling in the cargo hold. You'll have to unload them before they can be opened, but that shouldn't be all that much trouble once your back at base.

Exiting hyperspace on the edge of the asteroid belt presents a pretty deserted area of space. All the better for slipping over to the base. You work your way through the asteroids and as you approach the base, you see a pair of ships leaving, X-wings maybe, though at this distance they could be Z-95s. Comms seem to be working well now and the base clears you for landing.

As you ease down into the landing area, you can see signs of life that definitely wasn't here when you first discovered this place. A small droid waves landing sticks as Nox brings the ship to ground.

As you walk down the ramp, Dancy comes out of the main door.

"By the stars, I hire you to steal a freighter, expecting any old tramp and you come back with a '775. That thing is worth more than any cargo I thought you'd make it out of there with." She pauses for a second and looks at Ken, "Is it full?"

Ken strolls down the ramp carrying two squared glass tumblers, each containing a drink made up of black, white, and orange layers. Sipping from one he hands the other to Dancy. 'Dancy, Dancy. Only the best for IsoTech, you know that.' He gestures to all the activity, 'You seem to have been busy while we were away.'

Taking the offered drink, Dancy smiles at the group. "Come on up to the mess and we'll grab a seat and see about getting you guys some credits."

Leading you into the base, she waves down a tech and sends him off to get started unloading and inventorying the ship's cargo.

Once on the upper level, you find yourselves in the mess hall. It's considerably cozier with the lights and heat on. Not to mention the comforting sounds of life and people moving about. Once seated, "I may have to find harder jobs for you guys, nobody appears to have any holes that they didn't leave with, and you brought back a pretty big haul." A droid walks up and hands Dancy a handful of credit sticks.

" It'll take a day or two before we account for everything in that cargo. In the meantime, here's five thousand for each of you. You're welcome to hang around here, or there's a couple mining stations scattered across the belt. They're bound to have places eager for your credits. Then again, it's a big galaxy, just check back with us in a couple days and we'll see what we can do to square everything up."

Ken ambles up to the Slippery Ghest and gives it a once over externally, looking for any signs of someone having interfered with it, installed trackers and so on. Then he opens up the ship and retires to the galley to fix a few more drinks and look over his weapons and armour. I think I need an upgrade.

Then AD-hoc heads onboard and starts some routine maintenance to try and repair some of the damage he's taken.

Okay well AD-hoc would like to buy a slicing computer for the ship (5,000 credits, rarity 6 ), and the integrated Ascension gear (350 credits and is Rarity 3). And he will install it internally instead of on his armor.

Ken is always up for a bit of haggling and will stick his nose into any deal the others are trying to strike. He's a particular master of theatrically flouncing away in order to get a better price when the vendor senses they're losing a customer.

Shopping for himself Ken looks to pick up an electronic lock breaker (R1000cr, r5), some shock gloves (300cr, rarity 2), disguise kit (100cr, r2), and refills his grenades and stimpacks. But most of all he's looking for an upgraded heavy blaster. His one has served him well but he's looking for something bespoke, something stylish and deadly (Heavy Blaster [700cr, r6] with a Blaster Actuating Module mod [500cr] plus 2 Damage +1 Mods or 2 Weapon Quality (Pierce + 1) Mods [not sure how these are priced] OR Superior Weapon Customisation [5,000cr] plus Blaster Actuating Module [500cr] plus 1 Damage +1 Mod or 1 Weapon Quality (Pierce + 1) Mod [?pricing]).

I've chucked in a couple of Negotiation rolls in case they're useful. The first few can obviously apply to Ken's own attempts at buying gear. Nox rarely sees so much money at once and doesn't hold on it very well. He hopefully does find some things worth spending it on.

I'm thinking of a set of old ARC trooper armor (laminate, 2500) with enhanced optics (attachment, 1750). Then a Marksman Barrel for his blaster rifle (1200). The cherry on top would be a jetpack with the armor. (4500)

So, I'm down with pretty much everything, but Mandalorian armor has never been easy to find. Your best bet is to take it from one's cold dead ... Anyway, then everywhere you go, someone's going to call you out for it. :(

Jet packs on the other hand, aren't really that uncommon, people just don't put the effort into learning how to use them, or trust that they won't go poof at 10k meters... So totally, pick some style of armor and a Jetpack. :)
