OOC:
Quick correction, the murder pigs are on the main deck. Sandra noticed them at the foot of the stairs before she went up them. It's still technically their turn, the roll was just to see if they get a sneak attack or we roll initiative. So go ahead and roll mwahaha.

Rolls

Fakin' Bacon - (1d20+3)

(13) + 3 = 16

Nov 30, 2022 9:05 am
KCC, Bryson lashes out with a whip but it misses by a few inches. Gryff has more luck as the injured creature tries to take a bite of him and Gryff shoves his chain-wrapped fist in its mouth. The creature struggles to breathe and eventually chokes on Gryff's fist. Merilda and Eggo both attempt attacks but the shadows and jostling of the people around them make their attacks ineffective.

Len, On top of the desk is an ocean map showing several islands and coastlines. Longfoot recognizes the names of Alviz (your island home) as well as Lys (your destination). The desk drawer is unlocked. Joseph opens it and a needle shoots out of the keyhole! In the room next door, Joseph grabs a sharp kitchen knife (1d4 dmg) and begins stoking a fire. It will take a minute to get going. Meanwhile before Sandra can mount the stairs she gets an odd feeling of being watched. Turning around she sees three pigs have stood upright on hind legs, their beady eyes trained on her. She is being cornered against the railing. Down below, Baldwin performs as well as he acts! His hammer blow strikes true. He smashes the head of the creature which explodes like an overripe melon. It is dead instantly.

Harrigan, Up on deck Belamina grabs a sailor's sword (1d6 dmg). After she asks about the animals, she sees in horror as three pigs have stood upright on their hindlegs and are advancing on poor Sandra. On the ladder Dengus shouts down to Eugene as he climbs out of the hold and arrives on deck. Down below Eugene elbows the others with force and secures himself the first place in line to begin climbing the ladder.

ogion, Gerdich risks his life to follow after Elix and pull him from the creature's clutches and back towards the ladder. Both of them make it to the ladder and begin climbing. Christnar waits for everyone else to get on the ladder first. Cerdan climbs out onto the main deck just in time to see poor Sandra spontaneously combust in green hellfire and her charred skeleton fall overboard.

2 more creatures dead! Only 3 remain.
OOC:
We have 4 down below, 3 on the ladder, and the rest on the deck.

Sandra
"I don't wanna die!!!!" Sandra screams as the murder pigs advance on her. She stumbles backwards, unable to command her legs to move.
OOC:
Initiative roll = 13 ... not great!
Baldwin
Baldwin drives the hammer through the dragon's skull, spurting gore everywhere. "I AM THE DRAGON SLAYER!" he screams in an animalistic rage, lost deep within his role as an actual hero. "LOOK UPON ME, DRACONIAN FILTH, AND DESPAIR. I AM YOUR RECKONING!" He hoists the gore-coated hammer in the air to ward off the other dragons.
OOC:
Baldwin is trying to intimidate these other dragon babies after murdering their sibling. Should I make a roll for that?
Brother Longfoot
OOC:
Should Longfoot roll a reflex saving throw for the needle?

One of the three pigs charges at Sandra in an attempt to knock her overboard! The porcine menace hits Sandra so strongly she is incinerated in demonic green hellfire and burns so bright and hot it scorches the wood 3 feet all around her. Her blackened skeleton tumbles over the railing and into a watery grave.
OOC:
Ouch. Crit result: Major life burn. The character permanently loses an additional 4 hit points.

Eugene, breathing hard into the strange mask he’d donned, climbs as fast as he can. He’s getting close to the top when he hears a whoosh of fire, a scream, and Dengus swear.

Dengus the Ditch Digger
"Langria’s frozen teats! The gods have forsaken us! These pigs walk like men, and one of them just burned up the halfling like she was a wee piece a dried moss!"

Having witnessed the terrible event, Belamina shrieks and shrieks until the ditchman gently pushes her towards the stairs leading to the upper deck. "Up there!" he says to her, pointing as he stoops to retrieve a sword from one of the dead bodies. Blade in hand, he positions himself defensively as he makes to follow behind the fleeing, willowy-limbed fortune-teller.
OOC:
Eugene climbs, Belamina runs for the stairs and the upper deck, Dengus better arms himself and will move as far towards those steps and the upper deck as he can. Rolling init for them both if it matters, and if a pig-thing comes towards them and Dengus can attack, he will.

Rolls

Dengus init - (1d20+0)

(20) = 20

Belamina init - (1d20+1)

(12) + 1 = 13

Gerdich
GERDICH, THE DIGGER

Gerdich helps Elix up and they both stagger towards the ladder.

---

Christnar
CHRISTNAR, THE ANARCHIST

"It is the people who should be saved. The individual does not matter. I will be the last to leave this fateful place."

She patiently waits her turn to go up the ladder.

---

Cerdan
CERDAN, THE DANCER
OOC:
She jumped for the ladder and rolled quite well. I don't know what happened after that.
---

Elix
ELIX, THE HALF DEMON EXILE

"Thank you, friend"
he manages to whisper to Gerdich, while they try to get closer to the ladder.

Cerdan is up on deck. Elix and Gerdich make it onto the ladder. Will update my last post with the latest info and then make a new post for monsters.

Baldwin's heroic display of vicious slaughter on one of the creatures sent the three remaining ones scurrying for cover momentarily. Up on deck, the two other bipedal pigs who did not kill Sandra turn and begin advancing toward the cargo hatch where everyone is coming out of. One charges Cerdan who is standing at the top in an attempt to knock her back down the hole and into the hold. The other charges Dengus in an attempt to knock him overboard.

1 damage each to Dengus and Cerdan. DC 8 Reflex to avoid being knocked over the edge for Dengus. Cerdan would get one too but she's only got 1 HP which means she's unconscious. Need everyone on the ladder to make a DC 10 Reflex save to avoid being hit by Cerdan's falling body. That's Eugene, Elix, and Gerdich. A fail means you take 1 damage from, which is cumulative to how many people above you on the ladder failed. If anyone fails there's a chance it saves Cerdan from instant death.
OOC:
PCs are up. Anyone up on deck can give me initiative rolls vs the Baconators.

Rolls

Attack vs Cerdan - (1d20)

(18) = 18

Attack vs Dengus - (1d20)

(10) = 10

Damage vs Cerdan - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Damage vs Dengus - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Dengus the Ditch Digger
"Back you porcine prick!" Dengus shouts as the strange creature comes at him. He grunts as the thing barrels into him before he can defend himself with sword or hammer, and the gunwale behind him strikes him in the back of the thighs… but he stands strong and narrowly avoids going overboard!

Bryson
"Come on, you old bag. We’ll die down here if we keep this up!" Bryson roars, trying to pull the man away. He looked about, and sees how few the remaining captives are.

"We need to go!"

Gryff the Elder
"Bugger to that, lad. Lady Hovelsworth is still down here. Fighting for us, she is! Least we can do is fight for her. Come on, now! Let’s give it to them!" Gryff the Elder retorts, more of a royalist than dear Bryson.

Merilda Hovelsworth
Certainly not fighting for anyone but herself, Merilda draws back her blade from the failed attack and readies her defense. When the time is right, she prepares to strike out again. The ebb flow of battle. The proper order of melee combat. Studied, dignified…

"On three." she says, not looking at the lizard man beside her.

"One, two…" she readies her blade.

Eggo
"Three…" Eggo snarls, jumping forward at the creature, in a frenzied manner totally at odds with the dignified poise of Lady Hovelsworth.

Together, they stab at the creatures about them!

Rolls

Strength - Merilda - (1d20+2)

(16) + 2 = 18

Strength - Eggo - (1d20+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

Short Sword - Damage - (1d6+2+2)

(1) + 4 = 5

Dec 3, 2022 12:16 pm
Bryson lashes out and scores a solid hit on a retreating creature, severely wounding it. Merilda skewers one straight through its torso and pins its dead body to the deck.

1 more creature slain. 1 injured. 2 left alive.

Let's say Elix gets hit first for 1 damage and Gerdich next for 2 damage. You break Cerdan's fall though so she can make a Luck roll to see if she survived. All 3 of you are at the bottom of the ladder now.

Just waiting for @Len

Baldwin
Baldwin, Slayer of Dragons, spins his gore-slicked hammer like a warrior of old (at least, in his mind) and levels a mighty blow toward the injured lizard, screaming a war cry that shook the very timbers of the Nostro (at least, in his mind).

Brother Longfoot
Brother Longfoot winches as the dart strikes his groin. Sweating terribly, he struggles to extract the metal spine. Once free, he will rummage through the desk to see if the discovery will be worth his pain.

Joseph
Joseph tries to find a way to bar the door to the kitchen as he waits for the fires to gain their full flame.

Rolls

Baldwin Strength - Check, damage - (1d20+1, 1d4+1)

1d20+1 : (11) + 1 = 12

1d4+1 : (2) + 1 = 3
