KCC, Bryson and Merilda strike true and kill one while injuring another, which Baldwin finishes off soon after. Eggo and Gryff find less success but thankfully don't come to any harm.

Len, Baldwin's mojo is flowing as he crushes his second creature to death. His hammer is like a holy weapon in his hands. Joseph barricades the door and begins building up the fire. Brother Longfoot painfully removes the needle from his genitals. Tossing it aside he rummages through the desk. Inside he finds a spyglass, a purse containing 15 gold pieces, and the Captain's Log.
OOC:
It will take 6 rounds to get the fire finished unattended, 4 rounds if you tend to it. You are free to search the room while the fire is growing. Give me an Int check if you do. Or you can just stick with the fire to get it done faster.
@Harrigan, you are up as well. Dengus and Belinda are in melee range with 2 of the pigs. Eugene just reached the top of the ladder when suddenly the dancer's body gets knocked through the hatch, crashing into Eugene, who loses his grip and crashes into Gerdich, who crashes into Elix. You all hit the deck in one mass of bodies.

ogion, Cerdan is hit hard right in the ribs from the charging demon pig and knocked down the ladder. Fortunately for her, and unfortunately for the others on the ladder, she crashes into some of them, sending them all falling own, but it breaks her fall. She has several cracked ribs for sure but is clinging on to life. Gerdich and Elix were on the ladder as Cerdan falls down, crashing into them and sending them falling to collapse in a large pile.
OOC:
Sandra has 1hp but is still alive in the cargo hold with Gerdich and Elix under her.
1 more creature dead! Only 1 remains. There are 3 pig demons on the main deck. Everyone who fell down the ladder takes 1 damage.
OOC:
We have 7 down below, 0 on the ladder, and the rest on the deck. I'll post monster's turn after Harrigan posts.

Rolls

Harrigan's DCC Schlubs: Agility - Save - (Ref1d20+1)

(3) + 1 = 4

OOC:
Sorry, I somehow missed that Eugene was behind Cerdan. Can I have him try his Reflex Save since he was next in line and not below the others?
Belamina the Fortune Teller
On the deck, Dengus and Belamina faced down of the bizarre pig creatures. The woman is halfway up the steps and has the advantage of height as she swings her recently acquired sword...
OOC:
Made a mistake on Belamina's roll -- should be +0, not +1. Either way, likely a hit is she had some sort of advantage, and a miss if she didn't. Rolling damage in case it's needed.

Once I know the result of her attack, I'll have Dengus take his action.

OOC:
I rolled Eugene's save above. Belamina's attack hits, but her sword is only 1d6, not 1d8. I'll still give you max damage though which is still enough to kill a fakin' bacon.
Dec 6, 2022 8:21 am
OOC:
Gah, I could have sworn I read 'longsword' at some point. Sorry about that.
Dengus the Ditch Digger
Seeing the fortune teller strike hard with the dead sailor's sword, Dengus grits his teeth. He was going to try and whisk the woman to safety, but there was a chance they could beat these things! So instead, the man darts forward, to another pig-thing, and strikes!
OOC:
Oh, and what happens to Eugene then? 1 damage? If so, he's dead!

And hrm -- I thought I'd adjusted the sword damage. Rerolling so it's a d6.

make a Luck check for Eugene to see if he survives. At least his Luck score is pretty good!
Dec 6, 2022 3:37 pm
On the main deck, Belamina swings and catches the pig across its throat. Blood fountains out over the wooden deck and its dead almost as soon as it hits the floor. Dengus lashes out with his sword and catches the second pig across its chest, carving off a large chunk of bacon. It squeals in pain and anger and blood flows down its pink body. Its eyes flare and it attempts to knock Dengus overboard again. Dengus retreats a few steps up the stairs and the creature crashes into the stairs. The third pig makes its way across the deck to get ready to attack.

In the galley, Joseph continues to stoke the fire. Strangely though, he noticed the spilled blood starts to attract coal dust like iron fillings to a magnet.

Down below, a pile of four bodies lie in a heap at the base of the ladder, some groaning, others motionless.

1 pig dead, 1 injured, and one moving into melee for the next round.
OOC:
PCs are up.

Rolls

Bacon charge - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Eugene the Raving Lunatic
At the bottom of that pile in the hold, Eugene groans beneath his mask. He was so close to escaping! Has he breathed his last?

No! Rising like a masked wraith, stinking of fungus and gold, the lunatic laughs again, and again begins his climb!

Belamina the Fortune Teller
Moving back down the stairs against her better judgement, the bloodied sword awkward in both hands, Belamina swings the thing as hard as she can, straight towards the wounded pig-man!
Dengus the Ditch Digger
"No, woman! No!" Dengus cries as the gypsy appears at his side, brandishing her weapon ineffectually. "Get up to the damn upper deck! Get to safety!" He cries as he slashes again with his own sword.
OOC:
At the wounded piggy.

Uh oh.

Bryson
"Whats happening up there?!" the baker exclaims, as he looks back and sees the bodies tumble down the ladder. He swallows deep, a lump sitting in his throat.

"What’s up there?"

Gryff the Elder
"Worry about what’s down here for now, lad. Up there isnt our problem." there’s an unsaid ‘yet’, there that both men understand.

"Let’s carve this beast up and then worry about that, eh?" the elder man says.

Eggo
Eggo licks his lips at the prospect of carving up some of these creatures down here. Teeth, bones, hide; arrowheads, weapons, armor…

But the snarling from across the way attracts him, and he sees two human men still fighting a final beast. He looks up at the noble woman, and then points a scaled finger at the creature. In a shot, he’s skittering across the floor, sword ready to be plunged into the unsuspecting thing’s side.

Rolls

(17) + 2 = 19

Short Sword - Damage - (1d6+2+2)

(2) + 4 = 6

Bryson lands a glancing blow, but Eggo finally shows his fighting prowess and chops the last lizard-like creature in half. Its blood seeps out across the wooden floorboards.

The last creature in the hold is dead! 2 pigs still up top.

Joseph
Joseph will spend the next four turns stoking the fire. He will take a kitchen rag, wipe up a some of the slime. He will notice what becomes of the cloth as he does so (careful not to get it on himself). Then, he will lay the slimy cloth in the fire, and notice what effect the fire has on the slime.

Brother Longfoot
Longfoot pockets the coins and the spyglass, and flips open the Captain's log, searching the later entries for information on what transpired on this vessel.

Baldwin
Baldwin congratulates the others in their battle against the dragons. He realizes this is no longer a play, if it ever was. No, he is not pretending to be a hero - he truly is one! Baldwin, the legendary dragon slayer! "My fellow warriors! Let us take the rest of this ship by storm!"

Mighty mallet in hand, he will ascend the ladder (or get in the queue) to the upper deck, looking for trouble.
Dec 8, 2022 4:00 am
GERDICH, THE DIGGER

Gerdich
"What, in the seven hells?" Gerdich complained, as he tried to get to his feet, "Normally I wouldn't complain about a half-naked girl being thrown at me, but this is not the right time for that."

He staggered to his feet and helped Cerdan to hers.

"Come on, demon." he cheered up Elix. "You can't die. You owe me a wish."

---

Christnar
CHRISTNAR, THE ANARCHIST

Christnar helped Elix to his feet.

"On your feet, comrade. Union make force. Together we will defeat oppression. We must get out of here."

---

Cerdan
CERDAN, THE DANCER

Cerdan just whimpers, clutching her broken ribs with one hand, she lets Gerdich carry her.

---

Elix
ELIX, THE HALF DEMON EXILE

Elix is helped by Christnar.

"Thank you woman. I owe you more than one, by now."

---
OOC:
They all try to go back up the ladder again.
Dec 8, 2022 2:48 pm
KCC, Gryff and Bryson attack the last creature with only a glancing blow to show for it. However, out of nowhere, Eggo the ekrask leaps from the shadows and cleaves the beasties in twain!

Len,
[ +- ] Joseph
[ +- ] Brother Longfoot
[ +- ] Baldwin
Harrigan, Eugene is luckily cushioned somewhat in the long fall into the cargo hold below. He is terribly sore and will have bruises if not some chipped bones to show for this fall. Determinedly he rises and begins his climb again. Up top, Belamina and Dengus fight off the pigs but fail to harm either of them.

ogion, Cerdan, Elix, and Gerdich all disentangle themselves from the heap they fell into with groans and winces. All are alive but badly battered. Bruised and aching, they dust themselves off and prepare to climb up once again. Christnar waits for the others before ascending herself.
OOC:
Joseph and Longfoot are in the galley and captain's room on the main deck, Belinda and Dengus are on the main deck by the stairs leading to the poop deck and engaged with two demon pigs. Eugene and Baldwin are on the ladder and will reach the main deck next round. Just to keep everyone's PCs together, all of ogion's PCs will climb the ladder next round, and KCCs will all climb the round after that.
Dec 8, 2022 2:51 pm
In through the window in the galley comes crawling a lizard-like creature that resembles something of the ones below deck but larger and with a strange tail! It crawls along the inner wall and ceiling and lunges at Joseph! It grabs on to his back and begins chomping! As the light begins to fade, Joseph feels the creatures mouth go for his the upper portion of his abdomen, ripping through the muscle, and tearing out his liver. The last thing Joseph sees is it stuff his large red liver into a cheek pouch and then climb back out the window.

On the main deck, each pig attacks Belamina and Dingus with their thick tusks. The pigs smell like rotten bacon and sulfur as they get close.

Miss on Dengus, 3 damage to Joseph, 2 damage to Belamina. RIP Joseph. Belamina is down but gets her Luck roll. Narrate the result after you roll.
OOC:
I forgot to mention, whenever you go to 0 hit points and make a Luck check, if you survive you have to lower one physical ability score by 1 point permanently. PCs are up!

Rolls

Attack vs Joseph - (1d20+3)

(17) + 3 = 20

Attack vs Belamina - (1d20)

(19) = 19

Attack vs Dengus - (1d20)

Ill be furnishing everyone with mg leftover characters at the end of this! Unkillable. And a round to breathe now too!

Brother Longfoot
Hearing the ensuing battle outside the door, Longfoot puts the book back and returns to the main deck, wielding his trusty drafting compass like a dagger. When he sees the pigman, he bares his teeth. "This boat is full of fiends!" Seeing an opening, he lashes out with his weapon, trying for a killing blow.

Baldwin
Baldwin rises from the lower deck by way of the ladder, and sees more monsters to slay. "Rally to me!" he cries, and drives his hammer at a pigman's ugly face.

Rolls

Longfoot Drafting Compass Attack - (1d20+3, 1d4+2)

1d20+3 : (19) + 3 = 22

1d4+2 : (1) + 2 = 3

Baldwin Hammer time - (1d20+1, 1d4+1)

1d20+1 : (13) + 1 = 14

1d4+1 : (4) + 1 = 5

Dec 11, 2022 12:01 am
Brother Longfoot rushes out, surprising the wounded pig. He stabs the pig in the eye with his drafting compass. It pierces through and into its brain, dropping it like a sack of bacon.

Baldwin, the mightiest hammer wielder in living memory, crushes the last demon pig's face in. The bones shatter and its brain turns to jelly. It falls down dead.

Both pigs dead! We are out of combat. Great job everyone!
