Boseman High School Shenanigans: Episode 1

Zach continues to step away backwards and he holds on tight to the phone, curling up a bit as he tries to protect himself against the guy. "Leave me alone," he tells the men, trying to sound more angry than scared and not sure if he's succeeding at that.

"Rose has got some pot for you," he says, hoping to forestall Marco marching over there.

After Marco rattles off the sticker specs on his Z28 Freddie doesn't really listen. Gasoline is dead, who cares, moron, he thinks.

However, when he starts to go on about the girls, his hackles rise. The creep that Zach mentioned suddenly makes sense. Marco is a big guy, with a beef against him, and dangerous. But the vengeful streak kicks in, along with the lack of self-preservation that comes from smoking weed infrequently and being stoned.

"You and Rose? I asked her to go with me to Homecoming. That's going to be awkward."

"It is good shit as you say. I grow it, or grew it and I'm growing it again. You have last year's plant. But this year's a clone so it should be the same ... mostly."

Emily offers a hand for the pipe but realizes she has to chill a bit or they will have to carry her home and that would be downright embarrassing.

"Yeah I kinda was interested in him and thought he might be into me but he seems like a bit of a prick, ya know? He was really nice to me when I got here. Showed me around town and stuff but now ... he wants to play the field it seems. Typical guy. All they want is the one thing. He's no exception I guess," Emily says biting her lower lip. "Not that I don't enjoy that," she adds quickly. "Who doesn't love sex?"

Maybe Emily was warming up to Rose. She wasn't so bad and talking with her was nice as she really didn't have any close female friends yet, but maybe her buzz was making her a little more accepting than she would normally be.

"We could ditch him. That might be fun and only what he deserves. He'd see us leave though. But maybe that's even better." As Rose gets closer, a little too much closer, Emily takes a small step back and almost loses her balance. But then it becomes obvious that Rose might be hunting for a kiss.

"Eww no! I'm not like that. I like guys." Regretting her outburst she backpedals. "But I'm up to trying. I've never kissed a girl. Just be gentle." Bursting into laughter she doubles over, her giggles becoming uncontrollable, tears rolling down her cheeks. "It would be funny to watch his eyes pop out of his head. Don't guys love that girl-on-girl stuff?"

Zach pushes himself to his feet. He flinches when his palms push against the ground. They're hurting, pretty bad, and when he looks at them, they're bleeding. He must have tried to catch himself with them when he was going down and scraped them on the pavement.

He bites his tongue, trying not to break into tears from the pain, surprise and fear of the moment. With a noticeable bit of delay, he looks up at Bentley and nods.
He then scrambles to find his phone again after he must have let it go in his fall. When he has it, he puts it up to his ear.
"Abby?" Even his voice sounds weak and close to tears and... girly. "Abby, they're gone now. I have to hang up."

And then he does without waiting for her answer. And instead, he calls Emily's phone.

"Um ... nooo. I mean I've kissed my mom on the cheek but no. No girls."

Emily almost felt like she'd missed some expected rite of passage and suddenly felt excluded.

"And uh yeah, of course, I've had sex. Hasn't everyone my age?"

But the giggles attacked her again. It was one of the nice side effects of this pot, or not nice depending on what you were into. The idea of Freddie getting a boner as the two of them unexpectedly kissed suddenly felt like the perfect revenge and absolutely hilarious at the same time. The titillating image turned her on so she had no problem returning Rose's kiss in kind as her tongue tried to chase Rose's around the inside of her mouth.

The more Zach tries to move, the more he feels pain all over his body. His elbows scream at him when he tries to straighten his arms, there's wetness by his knee that can only be blood and when he tries to stand up, his legs don't support him, whether from shock or actual injury he can't tell yet, so he stays on the ground. He has no idea how he could have fallen so badly but he feels more like he was hit by car than shoved to the ground. Not that he's ever been hit by a car to compare, but still. He blinks up at the officer. "I don't know," he whines and he hates how his voice sounds. Suddenly, a thought comes to him and makes him panic. He still hasn't really determined where all the blood came from, so he reaches up and touches his head, hoping not to find a bleeding wound there of all places. "There... there were these guys and they tried to attack me and these other guys saw it and at first they acted nice and all but then they got really pushy and wanted me to get in their car so I pretended to call my dad and then one of them tried to take my phone and he pushed me," Zach recalls, rattling off the whole story as he still fights with tears. "This hurts," he then admits.

The phone is mostly forgotten in his hand for the moment, so if Emily picks up, she might be able to make out parts of the conversation.

Lily rubs her tongue against her palm. Phantom hairs sit on her tongue, tingling.

"Blegh! Blegh! Blegh!"

Her stomach feels a little woozy.

"It was… it was like looking into a black hole. I think I’m gonna be sick!" she says, slumping down into Wendy’s side.

"Hold my hair back, alright!" and then she’s smiling again.

"That was… a lot. This place…" and then she laughs a little. Which is quickly silenced by the sound of footsteps!

Emily was relieved when her phone buzzed. The kiss was nice and all but the roaming hands she wasn't sure about. Still, she found herself wondering what the boys were doing in response to their shenanigans.

Yanking out her phone she only smiles at Rose's comment and looks to see who it is. Using the opportunity to casually throw a glance the boy's way, she looks to see if their tongues are hanging out.

"Hmm, I better take this. Uh ... hi Zach, what's up?"

Freddie watches the girls flirt with each other. His first instinct is to leave them to their privacy, but his protective nature won't leave Emily with the possible narc. His second instinct is to make small talk with Marco, but again it's Marco. He instead just reaches down and gets his food. The Vietnamese sub won't eat itself.

When Emily picks up, it sounds more like a pocket dial than an intentional call. Quietly, from farther away, she hears a voice that she only after a moment identifies as Zach's. He sounds scared and maybe even close to tears. "...so I pretended to call my dad and then one of them tried to take my phone and he pushed me. This hurts."

"Zach? That is you, right? Are you ok? You don't sound ok? What hurts? Where are you? Who is them?"

Anxious now that something feels wrong she immediately starts heading toward the van. "I think Zach might be in trouble. Freddie! We might need your help," she shouts over to him, ignoring Marco.
