Boseman High School Shenanigans: Episode 1

"What? Then seeing his bruises her eyebrows shoot upward as she examines them. "Did you let Rose beat you up again? Jesus."

Smirking but then feeling like a bitch she backs off. "I'm sorry, Zach. I shouldn't make fun of you. I use bad humor and insults when I'm nervous. My parents tell me that's a bad habit like they can talk. Anyway, we can meet outside if you want? After we finish our lunch slop."

Fred sees the lipstick and smiles a bit to himself. Mr. Polensky scored himself a grocery store MILF!
Since it would be awkawrd AF to run into them, he goes back to the river and prepares himself for the hard swim back.

Following the exhausting swim, a closer call than he'd like to admit, he climbs onto the bank on the right side and stays on all fours for a bit. Retrieving his keys from under the bush, he gets dried off and redresses (commando), before checking his messages and driving home.

The girls have locked themselves in their rooms and he stands a moment outside Debby's room before deciding to just go to bed. He's fucked things up enough for one day.

Belinda is watching TV and he sits with her a moment, but their conversation, as always, is strained and meaningless. He does then head for bed and watches porn for awhile but his mind is adrift in a sea of self-pity so he goes to sleep.

Lunch hour...

Freddie comes in late. Physio has kicked his ass especially after that reckless swim and he grabs the Moscow macaroni almost without complaint. He barely has enough wherewithal to reminisce dreamily over as Ms. Maidstone's amazing choice of lycra tops -- some time, of course, he's not a monster.

Plopping down in his chair, he smiles grimly at the others, and waves at a few of the popular kids. Some kind of confrontation is brewing between the homecoming date partner types.

"Trouble in paradise?"

Lily is about to open her mouth to explain about Mr Levitt, but quickly shuts in when the other two start speaking in riddles. She sits forward, giving Wendy a ‘get a load of this’ eye, and then watching the two carefully.

"Wh… what is it? What happened?"

And then she feels a little deflated when they agree to meet later. She rolls her eyes internally.

Who does that?…

She thinks to herself, annoyed that something just slipped away from her!

Then, she perks up again. She opens her mouth a second time, as Freddie sits down:

"Mr Levitt is probably talking to the police this morning, or something." is all she says, leaving the morsel hanging for the others.

Zach nods at Emily. "Let's do that," he agrees to her suggestion to talk after lunch. Then he turns to Lily with a curious expression. "Police? Why?"

"Well…" and without putting Wendy, or herself, off lunch, she recounts the event of yesterday afternoon.

"So… yeah. We were on the way to the paper, and all that happened! They were being so weird beforehand though. So, maybe they were on drugs or something.

Anyway… I guess Mr Levitt turned them in, or something. Don’t you think?"

Freddie laughs, his mouth nearly open. "I went down to the banks, last night, and swam across the river. Mr. Polensky's jeep was parked there, and inside, a lipstick stick. Two pairs of footsteps lead away into the woods. Strange, eh? Wherever they went, they left the Jeep there." He thinks and says, "If Lily saw Mr. Polensky and Ms. Romanov yesterday afternoon, then do you think they went out there into the woods for some bare ass nature? Anyone see them today?"

Emily's eyes widen as she looks at Freddie. "You swam across that river and alone? Jesus."

She had been wondering what Zach was going to tell her that had to be so private but then Freddie launched into his little investigation.

"Teachers fuckin around. What kind of school is this?"

Nevermind that Mr Edge was flirting with a student.

"Rose and I actually talked about those two yesterday," Zach says. He makes a face when he thinks of Rose. He wonders how long it's going to be until she will speak to him again. "I noticed they both came into school hungover and messy. I'm pretty sure they also did it the night before yesterday. Isn't Polensky married?"

"What time did you see their jeep?" Lily asks, sounding a little unsure of herself.

"They got caught by Mr Levitt and the first thing they do is go to the woods?"

"Maybe the van was already there from the night before yesterday," Zach suggests. "They could have driven out there to have sex and in the process gotten so wasted that they decided not to risk driving back and instead walked. They both looked really messed up yesterday."

Freddie says, "We were there when you called Emily. 5:30 maybe? And I was there at least a half hour after that. Your probably right, they must have left the Jeep there before Lily left the school, right?"

He looks at Emily, "Hey, you got home okay? What was up, everybody okay?"

Zach glances at his phone when he notices it vibrate with a message. He sends a quick reply to Rose.

Zach: I wish

"Oh Zach you should ..." she was about to say should get out more but that would have been mean so Emily resists the urge to say that and instead just rolls her eyes. Apparently, he has little experience with the world. Heck, that kind of thing was pretty common on TV shows. Not that she was any great shakes at being worldly herself, but wasn't the divorce rate something like fifty percent because of cheaters? She had read that somewhere recently.

"Yeah Freddie, I got home okay and everything was the usual boring normal."

Lily mutters with Wendy for a moment, while the others discuss Emily’s home life. They go back and forth, clearly figuring something out.

Wendy gestures a hand at the group, and Lily rolls her eyes then and says:

"Fine." before clearing her throat and turning to the group.

"We’ve been trying to decide since yesterday. Do you think we can include this in the paper? I mean… the students have a right to know, right? About all the weird shit that teachers do here?

Right now, the top story is ‘School is Hot!’

Not exactly breaking news!" she says, beginning to fan herself down.

"I don't know about that," Zach replies to Lily, putting his phone down again. "Most students at least suspect this already anyway but it still feels like a big invasion of privacy." He thinks for a moment, then makes a face. "If you do want a more engaging story, how about 'Older ex-student creeping on young girls'?" He turns to Emily and Freddie. "Did Marco do or say anything weird yesterday? I hate how familiar Rose is with him."

"That depends!" Lily chimes.

"Are you going on the record?"

She makes exaggerated headline hand motions then.

"‘Boseman Beware!’ says new student, Zachary Tidwell."

"Right," Zach mutters. "Because I want the guy with the gun to be pissed at me."
