Lily extends a hand out to Wendy, beckoning her to follow and stick together. She waits, until the girl has gone by the shaken teacher, watchful that she doesn’t need to serve up seconds.

Assuming she doesn’t have to, she races to the door of the classroom, and sets about yanking Emily’s brother out of there!

She glances at Zach’s face as he stands, intently dodging the grapple.
OOC:
Let me know how much I can do! Maybe the Wendy stuff is just narrative? Who knows. Maybe you!

OOC:
Steve will be trying to escape too -- if you want, your turn can be collecting Steve and Wendy, then rushing outside. Emily would be able to get outside and further from the school if she wanted. But all of that leaves Aaron and Zach inside.

OOC:
Great. And Aaron has run off. So I'll be left alone to take a beating again. Maybe if Aaron returns to find my mangled corpse, at least he'll shed a tear for me 😆

Freddie grabs a towel and mouths, "THROW MY CLOTHES OUT AFTER!"

He swears as he kisses her quickly before she can react, and climbs out, towel tossed out before he shimmies his wet, soapy, nude body out the window. He cringes momentarily, knowing this will likely cost him weeks of advances in physio if he falls and lands wrong.

He'll try and climb out onto the low roof, and then hide out of sight to the side of the window while he towels off.

Stopping short when she realizes Steve is not behind her, Emily realizes she has to go back to that shit show and what she sees is total mayhem. Only Steve knows what kind of temper she has, it's been a problem in the past and she's kept it mostly under wraps until today but the chaos in the hallway flips her switch.

Ignoring Romanov, Emily grits her teeth and charges Gromn roaring, "Get away from Zach you motherfucker!"
OOC:
Emily will attempt to shove Gromn against the wall or onto the floor using the momentum she gained from running down the hallway.

Rolls

OOC:
Also, some clarity here -- each round in combat you can move, and you can take a regular action. Movement is equal to your Pace x 2 in meters. If you run, that's -2 to your action and you get to add 1d6 to your pace.

Yet another super-specific corner case rule.

The Hallway Outside the Science Lab

Gromn, engaged with Zach, doesn't see Emily coming -- and she plows the man over, sending him sprawling! In that same moment, Lily is helping Wendy and Steve GTFO, and Aaron is nearing the principal's office...
OOC:
Grown is trying to avoid being put on the ground by Emily, and I'll call him Distracted by his current foe. He fails, and two raises means he ends up prone, DISTRACTED, VULNERABLE, and also SHAKEN. Nice work, Emily!

Everyone, with both foes now Shaken, you can all get away if you choose to do so. Though that would be leaving Aaron behind... though he's not nearby, but way up the hall near the main office.

Rolls

Agility Check vs. Emily's Knockdown Test - (1d6-2, 1d6-2, RA)

1d6-2 : (4) - 2 = 2

1d6-2 : (1) - 2 = -1

Aaron's Persuasion roll to get Romero on the case... (-2 for sprinting) - (1d6-2, RA)

(64) - 2 = 8

Principal Romero
With the teacher and the janitor both knocked senseless briefly, there's a moment when the whole cast of kids can escape outside. But they also hear, "What the hell is going on down here?!" from up the hall, where Aaron went.

It's Principal Romero, and he's on his way!
OOC:
So the question becomes, are you fleeing or sticking around? We're out of combat rounds now.

The Hallway Outside the Science Lab

Zach looks down at the teacher and janitor in shock at what just went down. He's pretty terrified that they're all going to get in trouble for this. It's going to be hard to prove what happened. "I'll talk to Romero!" he tells the others. He's not about to let Aaron deal with that by himself. "You all..." He stops, unsure what to even recommend to them. "I don't know," he finishes, then he turns and jogs in the direction of Aaron and Romero, still soaked in Sprite.

Kelly's House

Kelly nods and rapidly starts searching for any of Fred's clothes as the still slippery and soapy boy climbs out the window -- and immediately looses his footing, sliding off the roof's steep slope outside the window's dormer. There's considerable racket as Freddie claws at the shingles, trying to keep from falling -- only managing to catch himself on the aluminum gutter, which partially buckles under his weight. The boy's towel goes sailing as he hangs, naked as a jaybird, and a glance down below shows him it's still a long fall.

Inside the bathroom, wide-eyed and on the verge of true panic, Kelly can't find any of his clothes so she just closes the window and runs for the bathroom door, desperate to prove her innocence.
OOC:
You're hanging by one hand, Fred! You can try to climb back up by testing Athletics at -2, or drop down in a controlled way by rolling Straight Athletics. Failure in the first case will mean you're still hanging there (unless you crit fail), failure in the second case will result in 1d6+1 damage, double that if you crit fail.

Kelly's House
Freddie hangs there a second waiting to see if the eavestrough holds, or comes loose in a squeal of tortured metal. His old body could manage this easily, a swift pull-up, but the internal damage he took has rendered him much less athletic. Still, the prospect of falling reminds him too much like it would be crashing into an airbag/cliff at sixty miles an hour, and he's not emotionally ready for that, so he tries to pull himself up. His strained tendons and muscles scream in protest.

Rolls

Fred Solomon: Athletics* - (1d4-2, 1d6-2, RA)

1d4-2 : (3) - 2 = 1

1d6-2 : (1) - 2 = -1

Lily, content that she can leave Steve in Emily’s care, huddles with Wendy. Heads together and hands shaking, they quickly thumb through the ◀️ button on her camera to see what Wendy had managed to catch of the action. Her breathing is a little frantic, as the adrenaline starts to wean, but she’s looking for something incriminating.

With the coast sort of temporarily clear, Emily bursts into the lab, yanks Steve by the arm, and says through gritted teeth, "Come ON Steve! Let's go."

It seemed like Zach was going to take care of the principal and Aaron so she could leave with a clear conscience with whoever chose to follow her. Staying in school right now was not safe. Something creepy was happening but she didn't have time to dwell on it now.

The Hallway

Principal Romero
"Answer me!" Principal Romero says angrily as he closes the distance to where the fight has just broken up, to where several students have just slipped out the door, and where the two adults have now regained their senses. "Ms. Romanov! Mr. Gromn! Connery here says you physically assaulted several students?! Explain yourselves — what’s going on?!"

Then, seeing Zach approach, Romero asks, "Are you alright son? What happened?"

Mr. Gromn
"Nothing happened," Gromn says, interrupting. "Just some kids up to no good."
Ms. Romanov
"No good," Romanov says with that blank look she seems to have lately.

Aaron looks like he’s about to say something, but his eyes land on Zach first, as he waits for the other boy to speak up first.

Outside the School

Wendy Lin
Outside, in an alcove off to one side, hidden from view, Wendy and Lily go through the pictures. "I don’t know if I even turned it on, Lily!" Wendy is saying. "That was crazy! And you like pancaked Ms. Romanov!"
OOC:
Let’s see how Wendy did taking pics…

Across the parking lot, Emily and Steve, both breathless, are climbing into the family van.

"What the HECK was all that about?!" the girl’s ‘little’ brother exclaims. "And why did you call me in the first place? Are mom and dad okay? What’s going on?"

Kelly's House

Try as he might, Fred can’t get himself back up onto the roof. The metal gutter screeches and comes partially free as the naked boy struggles, and Freddie grimaces as he’s dropped another foot or two closer to the ground. Worse — worse? — probably worse is that he’s now hanging right in front of a window, one that he thinks looks in on the stairwell that he chased Kelly up and down. There’s a scream from inside the house, and it’s… a woman’s scream. A woman’s scream that Fred recognizes.

Belinda Solomon
Then their eyes meet, through that window, as Fred dangles, offering up a full frontal to… his step-mother.

And to say their eyes meet isn’t exactly accurate, at least for very long, as the shocked teen sees that Belinda’s gaze is in fact… a little lower than eye, or even waist, level.

And that’s when the gutter gives way completely and Freddie plunges down towards the ground.
OOC:
You’re a little closer to the ground now, at least, so roll straight Athletics to resist the fall damage of 1d6+1.

The Hallway

Zach suddenly isn't quite sure how to begin. "We heard screams from the hallway," he says. "Aaron and I." He decides not to mention Lily and Wendy right now. It's unlikely they'll come out of this story without their names being mentioned but at least he won't be the one to do it. "So we went out here and found those two assaulting Emily and Steve Richardsen. Mr. Gromn was trying to drag Emily into that science room over there. I told Aaron to get help and then helped Emily get free. As soon as she was out of Gromn's grip, she and Steve ran away. Can't blame them."

After finishing his brief and not quite complete summary of events, Zach turns his eyes from Romero to Aaron. "Are you okay?" he asks the boy in a soft tone.

"Now she knows not to mess with me!" Lily jokes with some bravado.

"I took Taekwondo in first grade! It really stuck with me! Oh… oh… look at this…" she says, putting a hand tenderly on the back of Wendy’s.

"You really got my good side in this one!" she says, showing her the photo of Lily slamming her shoulder into Romanov’s chest.

She thumbs further.

"This one! This is the one! Gromm looks crazy in this one. It’s perfect."

Lily didn’t know how to do a lot of things. But she did know how to tell a story with a single picture. Gromm yanking Emily hard, with a mad look on his face.

Perfect…

"Staying here?" she says, before marching back into the school building. Then she turns, and takes Wendy by the hand.

"Nope. Stay together. Just in case!"

They approach the principal and the two boys, waiting for an opportunity to break into the conversation.

Freddie blanches, as he makes eye contact with Belinda, with his step-mom. He can't see but he's sure that he's still flying full mast and when she looks (NO, SHE LOOKED!) he's confused - - turned on, embarrassed, terrified he's been caught - - but then the whole neighbourhood is likely alerted when the eavestroughing gives way in the loudest screech ever.

He plummets to the ground.

He drops and rolls elegantly, unscathed, runs to the side and grabs the towel. Now he's still fucked, but not in mortal peril.

Except, Kelly's dad probably has all the guns and Freddie is a daughter fucking intruder who also knows he's cheating on his wife. FUCK FUCK FUCK, run!

Freddie books it. Where? He doesn't know, a back alley maybe.

Emily smacks her hands hard against the steering wheel and looks at Steve. To say the girl was frazzled would be an understatement.

"What was that about? That's a fucking good question, Steve! Have the teachers lost their fucking minds?" Emily is rubbing her hands that she hurt bashing the steering wheel. Turning the key in the ignition she guns the accelerator and peels out of the parking lot leaving a loud screech and tire rubber behind.

"No. I don't think mom and dad are okay. They aren't answering their phone. The goons that manhandled Zach have a photo of us. Someone is onto us and neither mom nor dad is answering their phone."
