Boseman High School Shenanigans: Episode 1

Fred finds his sister Sarah on the other end of the line.

"Fred! What do you think is going on with Belinda? She never came to get Debby, and then didn't even come into the house when she finally came home?"

After a paused, she adds, "Should we... track her down? Remember that dad installed that GPS thing in the Range Rover, right? Debby says she knows how to get into it."

Zach's phone is now silent, and Wendy just squeezes Lily's hand, stressed out by all the arguing and their inability to make and stick with a decision.

At the School, 730pm (Zach, Lily, and Wendy)

It's unclear in the moment if Fred and Emily think Zach's plan just isn't going to work (he's been outside the main entrance for a few minutes now, waiting), or if the popular but haunted boy just wants to make sure his stepmother is okay, but either way -- off they go.

Lily and Wendy are indeed in the van, with Emily's keys. They have moved the vehicle to the overflow bus lanes, out of sight of someone exiting the school's main doors, and sit with the engine idling, ready. At Zach's signal, they will swoop in!

On the Road, 730pm (Fred and Emily)

"Okay, we'll send her location when we get it!" Sarah had said before she hung up and the pair headed for Fred's car. They aren't on the road five minutes when a text from her comes in, displaying on the Tesla's gigantic touchpad. One touch turns that into a map location, and Emily and Fred see that Belinda appears to be down near the Banks. On the other side of the river, near where Fred swam across and checked out the Jeep. The Range Rover looks like it's halfway up the old dirt road that accesses that more exclusive make-out area, a trail that people normally don't tackle without a four-wheel drive.At the School, 735pm (Zach, Lily, and Wendy)

The sun has set by the time Zach is having the thought maybe this isn't going to work, but then the front doors open, and there she is: Rosie! The inside of the school is lit behind her, and she beckons to her brother from the door.

"Come on! Come on in for a minute -- I have something to show you," she says, waiting there.

Near the Woods on the Other Side of the Banks (Fred and Emily)

It's not a long drive to the back road that leads to the Range Rover, and after Fred drives across the bridge that crosses the river, he makes the turn into the woods. It's dark. The sun has just gone down, there are no streetlights, and the trees overhead are thick blotting out any lingering light in the sky. As they drive branches scrape and rattle against the side of the car, almost as though they are trying to get it -- or stop the vehicle from proceeding.
