Boseman High School Shenanigans: Episode 1

On the Side of the Road at a Police Checkpoint (Zach)

Zach does not like this one bit, but when Aaron gets into the car, there's no way Zach is going to leave him there alone, so he follows. Once Akins has closed the door behind Zach, he reaches over, trying to subtly take Aaron's hand to hold it for comfort and support, hopefully without Akins noticing.
He waits until Akins is driving, then gets out his phone and, hiding it by his legs so the sheriff hopefully won't see, types out a quick message to Emily.

Zach:

Akins arrested me. No idea why. Really fishy. Says he's driving me to station

When the two boys are in the back, Akins closes the door and climbs in himself. The back of the vehicle is intimidating… clearly meant to transport rough characters. The door do not open from the inside, and there’s a metal grate separating the back seat from the front. Another passenger — someone the kids didn’t see — climbs into the passenger seat seconds before Akins turns off his flashing lights and pulls onto the highway, accelerating hard, pushing the V8 in the way many dipshit men do.

OOC:

Breathlessly exploring, teasing, kissing, caressing — the two teen girls fumble their way through an exhilarating experience neither of them will ever forget. There’s a trail of clothes leading to Lily’s bed, and on that bed in that dark room things are starting to get serious. Neither of them knows what the hell they are doing, but it’s beginning to come naturally to them as their bodies yearn and ache for so much more. Wendy is kissing her friend’s… wait.

Wendy is kissing her girlfriend all over as a chime sounds somewhere — a faint sound that is lost beneath the rush of hormones raging in the room. The freckled girl’s hand is busy between Lily’s legs as she kisses her collarbones, her neck, her bare chest. For long minutes the black-haired girl does this, slow, sensual, intense. Lily writhes on the bed, clutching the sheets as her cheeks flush, and as—

"Lily?" the girl’s mother’s voice comes, just outside her door. Then there’s the two-rap knock. The one Lily knows means her mom is about to barge right into her room! "Lily, sweetie? Sorry to wake you hon…"

Emily charges the rest of the way to the car. Somehow she remembers Freddie telling her where the key is, fumbles for it, finds it, scratches the paint when her trembling hand misses the keyhole and finally makes it inside the Prius.

Once the message has sent, Zach puts his phone away again. He doesn't want Akins to take it, so best not to draw his attention to it. His other hand is still linked with Aaron's and Zach has no intention of letting that go. The other boy's hand feels so nice in his own. Soft and comforting. He leans over and whispers in Aaron's ear, "I'm really sorry I dragged you into whatever this is." Then he briefly rests his head against Aarons before leaning forward towards the metal grate dividing him and Aaron from Akins and this other mystery person. "Hey," he says, trying to sound friendly. His eyes are focused on the passenger side seat and he tries to make out who it is. He hopes it's Officer Bentley, but he's not very optimistic. "While we're just driving, how about you let us know what's going on?"

"You know," Mr. Unger says to the angry boy in front of him as he draws a meaty fist back, and as Emily lets herself into the Tesla that she somehow believes is a Prius, "I've wanted to do this since finding you at my house. This is going to feel good! Lights out, you little fucker!"

The blow is hard, fast -- too quick for Freddie to duck, and the bigger man's fist slams into the side of the teenager's head, practically whirling him around.

OOC:

That's a hit (Fred's Parry is 4) for 9 damage -- which is a Raise since Fred's Toughness is also 4. Fred is Shaken and suffers one Wound.

Fred is up. He can try Spirit to Shake it Off, or spend a Benny to do so. Otherwise, he'll still be shaken and can act so long as he doesn't take an actual action.

Fred feels the fist connect and his head rattles. Seeing that Emily has finally decided to run he does too. The slug infested adults are too strong and resilient for him to have a hope against. Maybe in his prime, but his body isn't nearly the athletic wonder it once was.

He runs for the car.

If Emily is getting behind the wheel, he'll go for the passenger side.

Mr. Unger

As the kids finally flee, Unger walks out onto the road, pointing an accusing finger at the pair, and especially at the boy. "I'll find you, Fred Solomon! I'll find you!" he shouts, and visible behind him is Belinda, starting to collect the scattered slugs, frantically returning them to the case they flew out of.

Starting and reversing the car, Fred does something resembling a bootlegger turn to reverse direction, then he accelerates down the road, leaving his stepmom and Kelly Unger's father behind.

OOC:

Soak successful, Fred, and when you do that you shrug off Shaken as well.

Combat is over. Presume you two and tearing out of there?

+1 Benny for Fred and Emily surviving this. +1 to Lily for getting Wendy between the sheets, and +1 to Zach for going along with Akins when he really didn't want to...

Despite holding Zach's hand, Aaron is pale and looks like he might get physically sick. An hour ago he was at home, getting ready for bed. Now...

"It's okay," he says quietly when their heads are together. "We'll be okay."

"Hey," Zach says, trying to sound friendly. "While we're just driving, how about you let us know what's going on?"

Principal Romero

The passenger in the front seat turns around, looks through the cage at Zach, and smiles. "Hi there, Zach," Principal Romero says. "Just be patient. You'll see soon enough."

The SUV roars past the turn that leads to the police station, and Zach suddenly knows: they are heading for the school.

Sheriff Akins

"Take their phones," Akins says from behind the wheel.

There's a slot that allows people to pass things between the front and rear seats, and Romero motions with his fingers for the boys to comply.

Romero's presence here confirms Zach's worst fears, and he feels worse than ever about involving Aaron. His grip on the other boy's hand tightens but he does not comply with the man's demand. "I have a deal with the one of you inside Rose' body," he says, trying to keep his voice firm and confident. He knows they have no reason to keep to the deal. Not even Not-Rose does. Zach certainly wasn't intending to. But they're aliens, so who knows what will matter to them. For all Zach knows, they might be bound by honor. Not that Not-Rose' behavior was much of an indication towards that. "So you should leave me alone." He throws a glance at Aaron. "And he has nothing to do with this, so please don't hurt him."

Sheriff Akins

The SUV lurches to a sudden stop on the side of the road, then Akins puts the vehicle in park, draws his sidearm and unbuckles his seat beat so he can turn around. The muzzle of his gun appears at the side of that slot, and it's aimed at Aaron.

"Hand over your phones. NOW," the man says through gritted teeth.

Aaron, wide-eyed and terrified, complies immediately -- passing his phone forward to Romero, who takes it and pockets it.

"What the fucking fuck was THAT back there?!" Her arms wrapped tightly around herself, Emily stares ahead replaying the unreal events over and over and over in her head, grimacing at the memory of the disgusting creatures while trying to put it all together.

"Your stepmother is whacked. The whole thing is whacked." As the shaken girl unfolds her arms she lets out a squeal. "My arm is killing me. Do you know what's going on? 'Cause I sure don't other than all this shit we've gone through is connected somehow."

"Want me to take you to emerg for the arm? It sounded really bad, are you okay?"

After waiting for a reply, he asks, ["Did they seem slugged? Likes Gromm, or something else?"

He scratches his head bandage. "I think alien slugs are turning people into their play things. But what I don't know is if the result is a good thing or not? On the one hand, we have Priya, held captive and starved, and the dead body in the other cell. But on the other, Belinda and Unger were strong, and seemed determined, like themselves, just more energetic."

He gulps, overwhelmed by the enormity of what's happened. "And then those two guys who have been harassing Zach add then us at the hospital. Are they involved? Maybe they're slug hunters, maybe they're even the good guys, but total dicks obvs."

"Sounds as good as anything I could imagine. But how is any of this possible? Aliens? Are there really aliens?" Emily is in denial. It's all too fantastic to be true. She suddenly grabs Freddie's arm with her good one, her eyes wide and pleading.

"You gave me magic mushrooms, didn't you? It was a bad batch. This is all just a really long bad trip. Right, Freddie? RIGHT?"
