Lily jumps up in the bed, sitting with her quilt pulled up to cover herself. Wendy would have heard the voice too, and so she hopes the girl keeps still for a moment. The bunched covers, pillows and the dark room might do something to hide the presence of the girl.
In a haze not brought on by sleepiness, Lily quickly shouts:
"What, mom? What is it? Stay there. I’m not decent!" she says, bracing for the worst, not knowing if she’d bought them some time!

In the Back of the Police SUV (Zach)
Zach realizes that maybe his attempt at friendly communication was a mistake and he should have done what he had been thinking right away. He only has a limited moment of time now, so he unlocks his phone and fiddles with it. As Akins pulls his gun and points it at Aaron, it makes his heart race with fear, but he tries to keep himself under control regardless. If he just does what they tell him to, they have no reason to not infect them as soon as they reach the school. This may well be the last chance he he'll get to save himself and Aaron from that fate.
Just as Aaron hands over his phone, Zach manages to get a live stream to his Instagram page started. When Akins turns his eyes to Zach, rather than hand his phone over, the boy announces, "My name is Zachary Tidwell. Me and Aaron Connery have been unlawfully detained by Sheriff Akins of Boseman, Michigan, and the principal of our school, Mr. Romero. We have been taken against our will and without explanation and are now being forced at gunpoint to hand over our phones." He turns his phone to show Akins pointing the gun at Aaron.
He really hopes that these aliens do not want the hassle that would come with being seen murdering two teenagers live on the internet.

"Honey?" Lily's mom says, opening the door a crack, just as she thought she might. Breathes are held. If the light is flicked on...
"I'm sorry to wake you! But there's someone at the door, dear." Peering into the gloom of the room at the indistinct shapes on the bed, Mrs. Palmer adds, "It's the police, Lily. They said something's happened to one of your friends and they want to ask you a few questions!"
Beside Lily, still half-tangled up with the girl, Wendy tries to hold in her drawn breath.

The gun in Akins’s hand twitches and he drops his voice. "You have TWO goddamned seconds to hand me your phone or you’ll regret it," the man says, taking his pistol off safe as he continues pointing it at Aaron.
"Zach!" Aaron yelps. "Jesus, give him your phone!"

There's no time to speak or anything so Zach just keeps pointing the camera at Akins and at the same time, he grabs Aaron by his clothes wherever he can grip them and then pulls him close, hopefully out of the way of Akins'shot if the man is actually crazy enough to shoot.

Red-faced and infuriated, Akins is barely able to keep himself from emptying his magazine into the defenseless boys before he pulls his gun away, holsters it and grabs something from a large cubby in the footwell. Kicking open his door, he loudly says, "it's just a joke, kid! Don't you know a joke when you see one, you're free to go!"
The next thing Zach -- who is all tangled up with Aaron -- knows, the back door of the SUV opens and the Sheriff is there, looming with his heavy metal flashlight. Blocking their exit, Akins prepares to lean into the car and grab for Zach's phone...

Reviewing the Benny rules, I'm still being a bit stingy.Emily - take +3 Bennies (you can have more than 3) for having some mob involvement, and for being both suspicious and cautious recently.
Fred - also take 3, as your secret has been on your mind a lot and has driven some behavior... and also for vengeful and loyal, both of which have been on display very recently.
Lily - I think Curious (with Wendy!), Driven, and Loyal (if you go after Zach) are all in the mix. Take +2 or +3 Bennies, depending on if you decide to go after Zach or not.
Zach - I don't think we Bennied you after that last time your Overprotective Parents were an issue, and you've definitely been attracting trouble. Take +2 Bennies.

All at once, Romero is getting out, and Aaron is shouting, telling the lawman to leave Zach alone as he tries to keep his friend from being pulled violently from the car...
