Boseman High School Shenanigans: Episode 1

"Alright, mom. I’ll be there in a second. Can you and dad come down too?"

Safety in numbers. There was also the fact that regular cops wouldn’t bat an eye at some parents being witness to a few questions.

Once her mother is gone, she regrettable pulls Wendy out from under the covers, and her mind wonders if she could just barricade the door for a while more. That wouldn’t be received well, and it would give the game away.

She pulls out her phone, writes a message and speaks to Wendy at the same time.

"I think you’d better sneak out the back while I talk to the cops. My parents won’t see you. Don’t worry. I think… I think you’ve been in enough danger for one night." she says; rubbing the girls arm tenderly.

To the others, she writes a message:

Lily: Cops at my place. They say something happened to one of you! Bullshit?

In the Police SUV (Zach)

"Aaron, don't worry about me!" Zach shouts to the cute boy trying to hold him against Akins. "Find an opening and run. I'll be fine." He lets Akins pull him out of the car, hoping that will leave space for Aaron to move.

In the Tesla of Bravely Running Away

Turning onto the main dirt road back to the street/highway, he hears her revelation and nearly gets stuck in a rut. "Holy shit!"

He breathes hard for a moment? "Really? Witsec? That's nuts. And you ... Oh God, have the mobsters found you?"

He had no idea if she's pranking him, but it seems real. "What do you want to do?"

"Probably go get my parents. As much as they are pains in my ass, they know how to handle this shit and my dad can wrap my arm properly."

Talking about her arm makes it throb badly. Rubbing it in any way that makes it feel better she can't help but smile at the boy's expected reaction. Apart from the fact that her parents would kill her for telling him, it seemed like home was the obvious next stop.

You can't tell anyone, Freddie. No one, you understand? I will let them know I told you so we can figure something out but not a word to anyone, OK?"

In the Tesla of Bravely Running Away

"Wow," he repeats. "That's a lot to put on me, Em. You must be so lonely will all of that on yourself, and just your weiner of a brother to share it with. I won't let you down. Thanks for trusting me." He rattles off things that he thinks he'd want to hear if anyone knew his secrets, but actually finds that the words feel right, too. He reaches over and pats her thigh, as she rubs her arm.

"Your place it is, but I'll take the back way down Hoeppner street to avoid the main intersections."

"It's a burden and now I've saddled you with information that could be dangerous to you. I'm sorry and yeah it's tough. Why do you think I curse all the time. It's bottled up anger."

Heaving a large sigh she places her hand over Freddie's. "Thanks for being a sport. I'll accept any confessions you might have."

In the Tesla of Bravely Running Away

"Thanks, that means a lot," he says, adding, "I'll take you up on that later."

He winces, sounding too glib in his own ears for the topic. "Sorry, I do mean that, it's just the secrets I carry aren't my own to tell. I guess yours aren't either. I'll need time to figure out what that means."

"Urgent?" Lily says, trying not to give away more than she had to. "What kind of trouble? My parents can come too, right? I’m not under arrest or anything?"

She fires off a few questions at once, thinking the slugs have little patience for back and forth. If Bentley was a slug, she’d give it away quick.

Near the Police SUV (Zach)

Hearing that Romero seemingly caught Aaron, Zach wastes no time and scrambles after them. He's somewhat resigned himself to being taken by the slugs, but he will fight tooth and nail to try and help Aaron escape. "Leave him alone!" he shouts. "He doesn't know what's going on. Let him go and I'll come with you willingly!"

Near the Police SUV (Zach)

Zach tries to avoid Akin's grapple as he attempts to get closer to Aaron to maybe help him escape.

A fluid situation…

Lily pulls on a coat, and exits the house with her parents, and Officer Bentley. Something about what Bentley says has Lily looking at Emily’s van. The back seats would be covered in Rose’s stomach gloop.

"Officer Bentley…" the girl starts, her heart starting to beat a little faster. Was this the right move?…

"I want to show you something." she says, starting to wander closer to the van. If the Officer was a slug, it might show on her face when Lily reveals the goo. If she wasn’t, it might help piece together whatever it was the Officer was trying to piece together.

She pulls open the door, and steps to the side. She lets her parents and the Officer look inside.

"You said it’s a fluid situation. Is… this what you meant?" the girl asks, scanning the faces for any signs of… well, she didn’t know what yet!
