Unger raises the metal baton high as he tries to come up behind Lily unnoticed, but she hears him coming and tries to duck away as he swings the weapon brutally!

OOC:

Alright, take two. I forgot Unger has an extra -1 on his attack (and Stealth) roll from his Wound.

So -- Lily gets a raise on her Notice... let's give her a Benny for that.

The attack roll, vs. her Parry of 2, is 5 rather than 6 -- so no raise, no extra d6 of damage.

Which means the damage roll is... 2. And you better believe Imma GM Benny that shit.

Edit: there, that's better! Lily has Toughness 4, so 15 damage is two raises. Unless Lily tries to Soak the damage and is successful, she'll come out of this being Shaken and with two Wounds.

Gonna spend a Benny to try and Soak the damage, Lily? If so, make a Vigor check.

The heavy rod contacts Lily on and shoulder before she can duck away, knocking her sideways and nearly down. The bruise from the hit will be spectacular, but it could have been worse...

After saving Emily from the slug and evading Belinda's furious but clumsy attack, Zach turns his attention back to his original target. "Hold still, Aaron," he warns the other boy as he closes the distance to him, then puts the raygun right up against the red creature and pulls the trigger, focusing only on the shot and neglecting that the move puts him in danger in return.

The same yellow beam that Lily his Mrs. Carlisle with lances out of Zach's space gun, and the effects are almost as dramatic. Aaron power pukes all over himself and the floor, ending up curled in a fetal ball, convulsing and dry-heaving... but the strange net-like entity that covers him peels off and shrivels, congealing into a tangled mass that rolls across the floor towards the cases of waiting alien slugs. It no longer glows or moves; the ray-gun appears to have disabled it!

Despite being enraged about the death of Gxrrxl -- like the others -- Mr. Unger has his wits enough about him to knock aside Lily's ray pistol as she fires a shining golden blast harmlessly into the corner.

"No you don't!" he growls, brandishing what looks like a baton with blinking and winking lights along one side of it...

Like the others, he is Distracted and Vulnerable, so Lily's attack was at +2. Alas, still a failure.

Unger turns when Fred shouts his battle cry, lifting a beefy arm and catching the hammer blow thrown by the teen, but he can't avoid the sharp edge of the chisel, which draws a deep gash across his chest, splitting open his shirt and his skin. Blood spurts and flows as he falls back, injured.

Ah, I forgot, Emily can just sort of lie there and gurgle. I mean... she can react mentally to what she's seeing, and while he haven't played it up much, she and Lily are still psionically connected!

Emily lies there and gurgles. Her eyes are as wide as saucers, anxious and terrified as her friends are attacked and their very lives are threatened. She knows that there is a connection between her mind and Lilly's but what is there to say? A teardrop runs down the frustrated girl's cheek as the mayhem unfolds around her.

Bloodied but not out of the fight, Myers staggers after Fred again when the boy turns his attention towards Unger, but by now the floor is slippery with blood, with vomit, with whatever slime or mucus seems to accompany the worms when they are ejected from their hosts so forcibly. Myers slips in that mess and his grasping hands go wide, missing Freddie...

Emily, splattered and covered in the vile upchuck that Carlisle vomited all over her before Lily forced the alien parasite out of her, remains paralyzed on the ground -- aware of the action around her, but unable to move a muscle. But then there's Palmer's voice in her mind, and the incapacitated teen is able to twitch a finger...

Lily's shot with the blazing yellow ray lights up the room, but it goes well wide of her target. Unger and Myers were both going after Fred, while Belinda tries to disarm Zach -- but now all three seem very aware that Lily is blasting away freely with the raygun.

Mr. Unger

"I've got Fred, get that bitch there with the weapon! Now!" Unger shouts to Myers.

The Warden

Then, in each of their heads, the kids once more hear the telepathic voice of the Warden hanging above them all. It sounds weaker than it did -- like the effort of this communication is taxing, perhaps even painful.

Fight to your last... do not relent. Your whole world... its fate... lies in the... balance...

Then the voice ceases, and the strange blue figure slumps, hanging limply.

Freddie wonders about all of this on some level as he faces off against Unger. An alien invasion, a secret mentor unable to directly intervene, and children forced to fight for everything. God Almighty I swear if get out of this I will watch more anime and be better prepared!

He ducks and rolls his shoulders, his sportsball background giving him a sense of movement even if he's never been a good fighter.
