THE FINAL BATTLE!OOC:
We're using a combination of the Quick Resolution and Mass Battle rules to finish out the game, folks. Here we go!
FIRST! Rouse Your Allies
Someone make a Healing Check, at -1 for the sorry condition of your patients, who include
Emily,
Rose,
Aaron,
Marco,
Kelly Unger, and the
kid she's tied to. Two of you can Support if you want -- also a Healing check, which provides +1 to the task leader / roller if you succeed. (+2 from a Raise, -2 from a Crit Failure.)
On a Critical Failure, none of the four can be roused. On a regular Failure, choose one to rouse. Success means you can rouse two, and each Raise means you can rouse one more.
Note: to get Windy back in the game, she can also spend a Benny to rouse. (See my previous post,
each of you have +2 Bennies now.)
THEN! Saturday Night Slug Fight
As you finish rousing folks, the wall of slugs comes tumbling down and the fight is on! One of you lead the others in a Fighting-based Quick Encounter that will determine the fate of the space slugs! You would get a gang-up bonus here, you'd think, but you'll be badly outnumbered by the slugs. (They are rolling as well, this will be opposed -- and *they* will enjoy the gang-up bonus.) I'll allow support roles from PCs here, same effect as above.
On a Critical Failure, many slugs escape and someone gets slugged without anyone knowing about it! On a regular Failure, you win the battle but several slugs escape. Success means you win but a single slug goes missing, and a Raise means a complete success. All slugs die!
FINALLY! Battle Royale
The door comes crashing in after the slug fight, spilling into the room the huge brawl that's going on between the slugged adults and all the teens and townsfolk fighting them with bats, tools, shovels and hockey gloves. There's carnage!
It's another Fighting roll, made by one PC with others potentially supporting. You enjoy +3 from Ganging Up and badly outnumbering the slugs, and from your advanced weapons.
On a Critical Failure, we'll randomly determine 2d6 characters who don't survive the fight -- PCs and NPCs are in the crosshairs. The good guys win in the end, but it's a bloody mess, basically. On a regular Failure, you win but 1d6 friendly NPCs don't make it. On a Success, you win but 1d6 slugged adults won't be getting up... on a Raise, you win, everyone lives, and there's a big goddamned party!
