The elf blocks the fire bolt with his bracer in a shower of embers.

Severely injured, the cowardly elf three continues his retreat, crashing through the brush.

Elf four drops his bow and kneels with his good arm behind his head in surrender.

Kleber clicks his tongue as the elf cut through the vines. He advances three steps and with a huff casts the same spell again, comanding a new set of plants to snare the assassin.
OOC:
Move to H11. Cast Entangle (Str save, DC 12) at the Assassin.
Now I have only one spell slot remaining.

The assassin grunts in frustration as a fresh batch of vines erupt around him. This time however, he has his sword at the ready and easily slashes them away.

Meanwhile, the elf striker continues to try to distract the group. He sizes up the two men next to him and targets the recently resuscitated one. His sword finds the same hole his leader’s arrows created. The looks down in stunned silence as he slides off the sword to the ground.

The elf uses the opportunity to make a break for it. As the guard watches his companion fall for the second time, he strikes out, but the striker bats away the attack with his bracer and runs for the road.

Guard four immediately pursues in vengeance, but the skilled striker continues to confound his adversary.

Guards one and two take up flanking positions on the surrendered elf and fire their crossbows at the fleeing leader. Two bolts impact the assassin in this back and arm and he scrambles through the growing plants.

Gzizmix moves to the downed guard and breaks him while sending the spiritual weapon after the far elf though he doubts it will reach the fellow. He then moves to check on the downed elf to see if he can stabilize it

37’s missiles find their mark and the fleeing elf falls. Gzizmix’s weapon is unable to reach that far, but the elf is down nonetheless.

As the gnome approaches the twice fallen man, he tries once more to revive the guard. Unfortunately, this time the young man does not return to this plane.

The Assassin hacks and slashes his way through Kleber’s enchanted thorns and vines and dashes away into the forest beyond.
OOC:
Mlabor is up next and with the demise of elf 3 and the surrender of elf 4, Kleber is on deck.

Malbor notes that the strikers have finely constructed bracers under the sleeves of their garments. On the bracer of the dead attacker, you see the mark of house Thiranni.

As the leader weaves out of sight, Malbor finds that the elf is moving away to the east, rather than to the south where the group intends to go.

Malbor feels as though the group of elves hastily set up their ambush rather than lying in wait. Perhaps as though you were being followed and the elves may not know your final destination.

Kleber’s arrow slices through the striker’s shoulder cleanly. The elf looks around, weighing his options. Now outnumbered eight to one, he drops his sword, but defiantly stares down the half orc, saying something in elvish.

Malbor walks to one of the dead elves, crouches down by the body, and pulls back his sleeve to fully reveal the bracer he is wearing.

"House Thiranni. It doesn't look like they were waiting for us. I'd bet they were following. If we move fast, maybe they won't know where we are headed."

Two of your remaining three guards are looking very haggard. Guard two volunteers to continue the journey. He is wary of revealing your destination in front of the striker.

Guard one, being the least injured, offers to return to town with the other guard and the two elves. "The town guard will know what to do with these two.", he says.
