Dardan sees there is no mechanism, the slab is simply that so whatever went wrong, it happened with your equipment, accidental or otherwise.

Lord Lyttelton frowned when Dardan' reported on the impossibility of exiting by way of the entrance, then commenting, "With some good fortune, the previous crew which excavated this tomb may have left some of their tools behind. Keep an eye out for anything that may aid you, Mr. Kela. With that, he approached the wall of hieroglyphs where Alistair stood, gave the inscriptions a cursory look, then asked, "Have you made any progress with this text yet?"

"It's a story about a Pharaoh, were you not listening, it's also not a particularly Interesting story, don't know what the Egyptians thought of the afterlife but I thought these tombs were it so it's weird that if he rejects that he's buried in a Tomb.

Lord Lyttelton's idly rubbed his chin and narrowed his eyes slightly, then replied, "Yes, I got all that, but have you been able to make any conclusions about this pharaoh's identity? The nobleman scanned the wall for the unmistakable presence of a cartouche while he awaited the linguist's response. "Thus far I have only seen evidence of protection magicks upon the entrance, perhaps there will be more as we explore further." he added.

As instructed Dardan explores the entrance way, and as far up the passage as he can go in the limited light.

Richard searches for the cartouche but has no luck. A lot of the hieroglpyhs have faded or parts of the walls have crumbled so it might have been lost to time.
Dardan takes the lead with Baz holding the lantern and the two start to move slowly down the corridor. There are more cracks in the walls on both sides and about 25 feet in, at the far end of the passageway, is a sealed archway, etched with symbols similar to those on the door slab at the tomb's entrance. Several sections of plaster, a small ornate table, and a golden chest sit in front of the archway. The items seem to have been dragged through a large hole that has been chiseled out from the bottom left-hand corner of the plaster wall. A crouching adult could easily squeeze through the gap and into whatever room lies beyond. The table is considerably rotted. The golden chest is ornately decorated and doesn't appear to have a lock.

"Aha! If tomb raiders have been here we may have a chance!" Dardan says to Baz, then turning back the way they’ve come he shouts to RJH. "Boss! Come quickly and see!"

Lord Lyttelton advanced into the passageway a few paces behind the two explorers leading the way. He examined the objects for a few moments, but his focus was drawn to the occultist markings upon the sealed archway.
