Oh lord give me strength, strength to flee like a jackrabbit or keep going, your choice big guy.
OOC:
Given that roll, Baz is going to open the inverted Anhk jar if he can (Recalling the symbols in the Sasha's resting room, at least hoist it and listen to whether the sound is coming from within. His back up would be the wolf headed one...

The crack of RJL's gun echoes around the chambers, the bullet hits the Abomination in the chest, the force knocking it back a few feet, but not killing it. If nothing else, you've bought some time.

What is Dardan doing?
Apr 24, 2023 9:07 pm
Dardan shouts in surprise at the sound of the Beast crashing thru the wall. He decides to throw caution to the wind and races as fast as he can towards the entrance, shouting again when RJH's lets loose at the Beast. All he cares about is putting as much distance between himself and the Beast.
OOC:
Dardan has a Move 8, and a DEX 50
Apr 24, 2023 10:35 pm
Dardan gets past his employer, following the others to the exit. Richard strikes a heroic pose, deciding his next move as the Abomination starts to lurch forward, unsteady on its feet, occaisionally shouldering the walls to each side, sending plaster flying and dust and pebbles fall from the ceiling.

OOC:
Dardan, Arthur and Christopher are out. That leaves Richard in the corridor, Alistair in the Antechamber and Baz in the treasury.

What's Alistair doing this round?
Apr 25, 2023 6:25 pm
(If the people who helped us to climb outside the tunnel have shovels or pickaxes, Arthur will unceremoniously snatch one...)
OOC:
assuming we don't recognise any of the traitors who trapped us underground, in this group?
Apr 25, 2023 8:26 pm
The three men are all that remains of the several men that worked here but they appear happy to have you back. There are still tools here, not all were taken away.
Apr 25, 2023 8:40 pm
Once out Dardan orders the three workmen to take up tools and stand ready. He stands behind the line he has them form, holding tight to the battleaxe, ready for action.
Apr 26, 2023 2:31 am
Lord Lyttelton hesitated briefly as the beast stumbled backward from his bullet's impact, however, when it became clear that the wound had not stopped the thing, the nobleman decided that his best course of action was to continue to withdraw. Richard hastily exited the entrance passageway a few steps behind Dardan and Arthur, glad to see daylight once more. Once clear, the expedition leader turned back once more and readied his firearm.

Baz, you're up. (and waiting on Alistair, if he's doing anything this round)

I can't think of anything

@koldiksteelskin: Would Alistair want to follow Baz? He know’s it is the only other way out, and he’s not heard Baz screaming in terror, unlike the others?

"And have I not told you that what you mistake for madness is but over-acuteness of the sense? --now, I say, there came to my ears a low, dull, quick sound, such as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton. I knew that sound well, too. It was the beating of the old man's heart. It increased my fury, as the beating of a drum stimulates the soldier into courage." Baz shakes his head, the old Poe poem ringing his senses clear and calling him to action!

Keep yer wits man

Baz raises the knife in his hand to the heart, ready to cut into it like an apple but his mouth twists and sours and he grits his teeth and holds the blade up high to strike at it. His vision flashes back to the wall carvings in the rooms just beyond where he now sits, the scenes of the dark pharaoh commanding his priests and the heart being weighed on scales.

It would seem that Twain was right when he said "The heart is the real fountain of youth." Well buddy I aim to piss in yer fountain.

Baz plunges his hunting knife into the beating heart and winces as he strains to hear any reactions.

Honesty I'm a bit lost from the map but if there's a way he thinks would get him out yeah he'd head that way.
