2.1 Chapter 1: Into the Stolen Lands

The guard at the door are reluctant to open the door. "An Ogre now? You took the giant you can take the ogre. We lost too many to risk another surprise attack"

Tassle pokes the relectant guard with her 'are you dead yet' poking stick

'are you union? Why do you think that not fighting is a good choice here? If this gets out no one will ever hire you guys as guards again. Starving is a terrible career choice

The guards (at least the ones that are conscious) remain safely on the other side of a secure door. Tassle does poke the lone survivor from Jurgrindors frosty fury, who give out a loud moan.

Muffled voice shout through the door. "We have a feudal oath to the Aldori. Who are you talking too? Did people survive the attack?"

"You guards are useless. Of course some of us aren't dead, we don't suck like you do. We are good people who actually save and protect those under this roof, unlike those of you sworn to protect the guests of Aldori." I'll shout this at the door and then move to the back of the group and get ready with a ray of frost for the ogre. Filbert can scavenge some valuable small bits for us sneaky like (he has a tiny pouch its in his picture).

Dalia takes a moment to load both her and Octavious's crossbows.

"This could get ugly, everyone not up to fighting strength should stay behind us. We are about to have one confused ogre on our hands.

After a moment and much muttering the house guards lift the barricade and open the door to the great hall.

Six guards stand at the door armed with bows and swords, ready to fight. They seem relieved to see potential allies. The taller one, a lieutenant by his markings, shouts "Alright, lets secure this ..."

He is interrupted as the filthy ogre bursts through the door. Lucky as everyone is ready Gormag is filled with arrows, blades and deadly magic. Falling quickly with only a few wild swings.

The Great Hall looks much different than it did hours ago during the feast. Three of the long tables have been turned on their sides and pushed against the large entry doors to the south to form a makeshift barricade. Dishes, broken goblets, and bloody stains mar the floor, while at least a dozen bodies lie against the east wall. Lady Jamandi’s guards gather at the barricades and in front of the double doors leading into the west wing. These doors are sealed, and several tapestries have been torn from the walls and wedged into the gap between the floor and the door in a feeble attempt to keep smoke from flowing into the hall from an apparent fire in the manor’s west wing.

As the house guard secure the room, you are greet by lieutenant Ivenzi. He is keen to know how many enemies remain in the east wing.

Shouldn't we be putting out that fire? I mean fires are bad right?

"Look, I can make the fire better, but I can't put it out. Do you have any water or cold magic? Or buckets, is it too late to try buckets?"

I have a water cantrip that can splash water rather effectively.
