2.1 Chapter 1: Into the Stolen Lands

You find Valerie and Harrim together. Valerie is try to convince Harrim to craft armour with his dwarvencrafting. Harrim is trying to convince Valerie that Torrag has forsaken him, and he couldn’t even craft a nail.

On politely asking Valerie politely accepts to join. Harrim seems neutral on the matter, though agrees to come as he doesn’t have anywhere else to be until the end times come.

On of the other adventures passes Ralf a note written in fancy cursive;

"You may join me, Tartuccio, the one true king of the stolen lands. Riches and glory await!

Of course, you must renounce your current band of misfits and do an act that shows your loyalty.

Choose you density. A loyal agent of a fabulous king or a meandering tour down the river of souls.

Tartuccio the magnificence"

Sparky manages to drop into and give Tartuccio a discrete message. Soon after the Gnome announces "the great magnificence, Tartuccio will be going for a bathroom break alone and unescorted as a true king of power does".

Alone, Tartuccio whispers "Ah, I see you have chosen wise. A king that is wise enough to see that you were merely assigned a room with that band of misfits who think they can dare to rival The Magnificence."

The pale gnome smiles wide. "Oh don't underestimate of grandiose, it's not every day WE fight side by side our benefactor Swordlord. Have no fear the story OUR bravery and magical might last night already been told far and wide."

The Gnome pauses and pulls a broach from his pocket "Of course I am benevolent king willing to share the wealth and glory. " He says as he hand the broach to Ralf "Rumor has it you could use extra protection"

Looking around he gleefully exclaims "Duties call, meet me in in the UnBalanced Blade inn tonight and we can discuss your application" before turning to leave

I will start working out the costs and things for the group and play the math is hard game as I work with the map, do cart/tent cost benefit analysis, etc.

OK! I am triumphant with my calculations. If we all chip in 12 gp, 8 sp and 5 cp we can ride in relative comfort, make a nice camp, cook our food, and make repairs. I also intend to get a spyglass and compass so we don't get lost. People can get their own rations, rope, climbing gear, and other things they might want for the trip. Or we can all chip in the silver to buy a couple of weeks of rations for everyone.

Combination of carts and riding horses to give us flexibility and let us pack a nice selection of camp gear. That way we can use horses to hunt and scout while on the way to our destination. It will likely take a day or two to get everything organized given the size of our group and the need to find all of our supplies even if we divide up the tasks. Everyone can help with the shopping. I will start with the horses since I'm good with animals. The horses definitely love me (22 on nature), but I love petting them so am a bad negotiator (3 on diplomacy).

This all sounds good to me. I'll help with the supply shopping.
