The ghost screams; a sound terrible enough to send your hands to cover your ears. The glass of the mirrors shatters, but hangs suspended in the air. The ghost cuts off her scream, and with a flick of her wrist, she commands the glass shards to shoot out towards the door! Several pieces implant themselves in the wood surrounding the door.

Others, however, are aimed precisely at Joe Glickmann’s back, and approach with speed…
OOC:
@witchdoctor, tank the damage this one time, and move to the next room. Or divert the ghost’s attention to a coworker, and the shards of glass shall head their way instead.

Other option is to simply take the damage this time, and hold your free tanking for later in the escape. Just in case.

Feel free to narrate!

OOC:
I'll tank my damage this time.
Joe's feet carry him as fast as they could across the rickety rotten floorboards of the attic hell-hole. Behind him, the malevolent spirit scowls at the broken mirror and directs her anger at the old man who broke it. What better instrument of revenge for a self-absorbed, vain little man than death by mirror?
Shards of the broken mirror flew through the darkened attic, each one reflecting an image of Joe Glickmann at his worst. Joe got about halfway between the specter and the rest of the crew before the shards found home in his back, spilling him over to sprawl on the floor. Landing flat on his face, his feet continuing almost over his head, Joe comically comes to a grinding halt at the crew's feet. Wickedly long sharp daggers of mirror jut from his back, holes piercing the multicolored jacket he preened over so meticulously. Sliding to a stop at the feet of the Professor, Joe must surely be dead...murdered by what could only be a real manifestation of the supernatural.
A heartbeat later, Joe's hand reached for the Professor's ankle, a startlingly fast move for the old man, to pull himself up from the dusty floor. Blades of shiny mirror still sticking out of his back, he jumps to his feet to clear the doorway alongside the others. MY AGENT IS DEFINITELY GOING TO HEAR ABOUT THIS, MISTER! he yelled into his lapel mic. EXPECT A VERY STRONGLY WORDED LETTER FROM SAG-AFTRA! Joe shed his multicolored jacket as they retreated back down towards the bathroom, unfastening his tie and shirt. Underneath, Joe wore a hard plastic back brace that he quickly removed and cast aside, mirror shards still imbedded deep in its back plate. Abandoning the ripped shirt, he slid the jacket back on in the rush down the hallway.

* Nothing to do with me! Take it up with Legal! If Leigh could hold the camera straight for five seconds, I might actually see what’s going on in there! *
You descend the rickety staircase; a dissonant chorus breaking out beneath your feet in your haste.

Down, down, down you go, far longer than you remember ever traveling up! You hear a screech from above, and a gust of air hits you from behind, only hastening your retreat as your desire to escape increases!

Down, down, down… until you enter into the… bathroom? Around and around you descend the spiral stairs, until you are clambering down the central feature of the bathroom below. You reach the bottom, and are confronted by the mannequins which had stood vigil at the mirrors before.

The branches rattle at the window. Another shriek, and then the spectral forms of Alice and poor Justin are approaching from two corners of the room.

"We should keep going!" Leigh exclaims. "I'll bet you those mannequins are no safer than those mirrors were."
But in response to Mike's words, she does raise her camera again and continues filming. Call it professional pride. Or a panic response.

"What that...! Did we just go around in circles on a set of stairs? How is that possible?" Fear is slowly replaced by anger at how unfair this was. Ricky rushes forward and grabs a mannequin and swings it at one of the mirrors.

Following the others at as quick a pace as his now shaking legs would carry him, Joe tries to slow down once on the water slick tiles of the bathroom. The slick leather soles of his wingtip shoes do little to provide any kind of traction so the veteran actor ends up taking a 'tokyo drift' style slide through the center of the room, his legs pinwheeling like a living cartoon in order to control his headlong plunge through the demonic elements of the dorm lavatory.

After bolting inside after all the others, Professor skids to a quick stop and takes a look around the bathroom, stoically ignoring the presence of his now-ghostly colleague, the impossible architecture and even the probably deadly mannequins. His eyes narrow as they stop on the window, and for a moment he looks as if he genuinely considers taking a jump through the glass - or at least throwing Justin's camera at it, in hopes that it breaks the window and allows them to escape. But his caution wins in the end, and Narcissus instead grabs Leigh's shoulder and pushes the camera to her.

"Hold this." He relinquishes the device and then hastily opens his own equipment case, rummages in it and finally produces a... pocket of white powder? "I've got this."

..He doesn't, but from what he somewhat remembers of their own show, ghosts don't like salt. And it might not be strictly salt - it's lithium chloride, for his pink fireworks, - but perhaps it's similar enough. If nothing else, it gives him enough confidence to run after Joe (with much more grace!) in a valiant rescue attempt and throw a full handful of the chemical at the ghosts in the process.
OOC:
Keeping KCC's now-deleted roll of 5 - it's the Schrödinger's result! I either roll a 5 again or I don't, so it's almost the same. (Yes, this is exactly how that experiment works, don't question it.) Unless you want me to roll again, of course.

Also, lithium chloride produces really pretty flames.

Leigh turns to the professor wide-eyed and pale-faced when he grabs her shoulder. She's clearly lost some of her cool after watching one of her colleagues get painfully murdered right in front of her. Less because of who he was, and more because of what his death might imply for her.
She has to suddenly shift her grip on her own camera when Narcissus drops the other camera into her arms. Standing somewhat awkwardly holding two cameras, she looks at the man as he produces some powder from his case. "Be careful, professor," she tells him, not very snarky for a change.

Words form in the mirror; desperate messages from beyond the veil. They shift constantly, barraging you with angry accusations and mournful pleas.

Ricky smashes one, setting a mannequins head through the glass. Large shards fall to the ground, though the messages form across the broken glass even still.

The ghosts close in from corners of the room, until the Professor pulls some powder from his case.

Onward the ghosts come, hands reaching out as if to grasp you by the throat. Justin’s face is contorted in rage, his visage alternative between whole and wholly broken.

Just as the ghosts step into the ring of mannequins, the powder goes up in a cloud. It stings the eyes, and you taste it on the tongue.

A menacing shriek rings out, full of venom and the promise of things to come.

GRAAAAHHHHHH!!
The sound snarls about you, as the two ghosts are forced away to some realm unknown for a moment. The room falls quiet, save for the door creaking open.

Escape!
OOC:
A moment to RP, and then on to the bedroom! What horrors await?

"Ok, whatever the hell is going on, I am done here. Let's get out now. I'll never be able to look at another mirror again I think." Ricky tosses the mannequin as if afraid it will come to life an attack him. It cracks another chunk of mirror and he shivers.

For a moment Professor seems actually stunned at the effectivity of his improvised exorcism, but he quickly shakes off the surprise and hurriedly walks up to check on Glickmann. "For once I agree with you, we should leave the building as fast as possible," he offers a hand to Joe in case the man needs to rebalance himself. "However, I have a feeling that we won't be able to simply head for the exit. Considering that we weren't exactly going for the bathroom from the attic..." Narcissus shakes his head, still disbelieving of everything that's going on.

The Professors dreadful prediction in your minds, you set off running out of the bathroom. You run through the course in your head, though somehow sure it wouldn’t be the same on the way out as it was on the way in.

The hallway of doors, and Alice’s room. You had crossed this hallway from the recreational room. You start running down the hallway, frantic as you are to escape the clutches of the ghosts.

Doors upon doors upon doors; it feels as if you pass by a hundred or more. You watch the hallway extend before you a hundred more, with no signs of stopping.

You hear the slamming of a door behind you somewhere, and a low, wet growl. Another slam, and a gust of wind sends a shiver up your back. You race on. Fifty doors more, maybe a hundred, and you finally see the exit. You know it’s the way out; something inside you tells you as much.

It’s Alice’s door, with the vicious taunting scraped into the wood dancing about in your vision; the cruel words now aimed at you rather than her.

You barrel through the knife-marked door. The whispers you were sure you had heard before is now a chorus of mocking jeers. The stain in the wall seems to ooze, or set the air shimmering, as it was moving, hot, rippling.

The indent in the bed seems to widen; growing deeper as you enter, as if ravenous at the promise of a meal.

Professor... Joe panted, dry swallowing a nitro pill to steady his hammering heart, You wouldn't happen to have a can of gasoline or a flamethrower in your bag of tricks, would you? He panted, desperate to pull air into his lungs after the headlong dash from the bathroom. This place needs an arsonist STAT!

Despite being panicked, Ricky has to appreciate the joke. "My standards may be low, but they at least have to be alive! And not trying to murder me would be nice, but not a deal breaker. What I say is fuck these doors. Let's try a window. Ghosts want to play games? Just climb out a window!" Ricky goes to the bedroom window and tests it to see if it will open.

From the moment they enter the room Narcissus seems slightly distracted, sniffing the air suspiciously as his grip on his case tightens. He genuinely jumps at Joe's question, before turning to the man with a concerned frown. "Glickmann, you do realize that we are currently *in* the room you are proposing I set on fire? As in, if it goes boom, we too go boom?" His brows furrow even further as his gaze moves to the stain on the wall and he sniffs at the air again. "...But I am surprised that you actually smelled it as well. I think it's ethylene; don't breathe in too much of it."

Professor gives one last glare to the wall and then steps around Leigh to join Ricky in examining the window. He doesn't try to help, instead peering at the lock over the other man's shoulder - a great sacrifice in his opinion, getting this close, but it's for a worthwhile reason.

OOC:
Considering there are now two ghosts, the top two of you would each get one damage each! At least that’s how I understand it. Unless all the ghosts are supposed to attack one target.

So as it stands, Joe and Professor lose a damage, unless it’s Provoked to someone else, or tanked.

Justin has the ability to ignore a redirect once per game too!

So… Arson away! Let’s just hope you don’t fall the those wet floorboards right at the exit and end up on a burning basement!

Leigh points at the bed; and even as she does, you hear a wet murmuring coming from somewhere inside the hole. A spectral hand climbs out of the dark indent, grabs on to the bed frame, and then the ghostly figure of Alice hoists herself up.

She grabs the front of Joe Glickmann’s shirt, and begins to drag him towards the yawning portal…
OOC:
Joe Glickmann can pass the damage to someone else, pushing another into her clutches (-1 Provoke), or take the damage himself (-1 Survive).

Narrate the escape in either case! You’ve still got some juice!

Ricky works the window, finding it jammed fast! He wriggles it again, frustrated at being robbed of an easy escape. Something flashes outside, and then Justin is on the other side of the glass, looking in at you all.

You all, but one of you in particular: the Professor. Enraged at being sent elsewhere by the Professors powder, Justin passes through the glass, through Ricky and, suddenly corporeal, grabs the Professor by the back of the head.

He yanks the man about, and then forces his head towards the noxious, heady gas. It fills the Professors mouth and nose. It’s enough to make the mind swim after only a few seconds. You’ll pass out before long!
OOC:
The Professor can not pass this damage to someone else. Justin is out for his blood and will bypass a shift. (1 Freebie per game)

So you can tank it (1 Freebie per game) or take the damage (-1 Survive).

Narrate the escape in either case! You’ve still got some juice!
