Scene 3: Kris vs Lucian

OOC:

Please roll Initiative. Combatants have 1 rd. to prepare and then the match begins.

The combatants find themselves transported into a spherical-shaped chamber surrounded by ancient columns. Beyond is only darkness. It is illuminated by a series of lines and sigils in the stonework floor and ceiling. The six standing columns rise to ten feet and appear to hold up the ceiling. The ceiling is slightly dome-shaped, rising from ten feet at the columns to twelve feet in the center of the chamber. Behind each combatant stands the base of column which is flat on top and rises four feet from the floor.

Kris blinks and rapidly adjusts to the new surroundings. "Blue. Vanish." She tells her little companion and he disappears from sight. She then vanishes as well.

Lucian readies his staff as he snaps his fingers on his free hand to summon his hound. "Hold tight, Useless." The little dragon crouches down on his shoulder, bracing itself until further instruction.

OOC:

Hound of Ill Omen, target Kris, spawns on G7

Not sure if I should roll initiative for Useless. Spell says to, but he can't attack so I'm not sure why he needs it, except for movement purposes. So rolled it just in case, can always ignore it.

Even as the demon hound turns to follow the movements of the invisible Kris, Blue appears between them. he is now the size of a large winged ape. He slashes his massive clawed hands into the Hound. At exactly the same moment, Lucian receives three slashing blade attacks himself; each one from an invisible Kris.

Damage: 48 to Lucian
Damage: 25 to the Hound

Radu and Killian fade from the Inner Council chamber and appear in the arena for the third match.

Radu draws his blade, Xolvoneth, from its dark scabbard and repositions himself. He throws his hand out and manifests an echo between him and Killian. "I would say I'm sorry, for you do not know what it is you face."

"Hahaha!" Killian laughs in his deep voice. "Apology accepted, Lord Hove."

The Fire Goliath warlord rushes forward, cleaving through the translucent twin as he does, and then delivering a solid blow to the Dhampir Lord with his greater demon greataxe.

Radu takes 42 points of damage (28 of that is radiant energy damage)

Radu attempts to catch the great axe in a parry but doesn't bring his sword up in time. The axe slices into his body, leaving a crimson trail in its wake. He breaths, smiles, then raises his hand and snaps his fingers. His echo reappears behind Killian as he returns the attack with a roar of might. The cuts come with lightning speed, from front and back.

I just realized the necrotic damage dice should be D8's not D6's - may you re-roll the ones that hit, if any? Sorry about that.

The Fire Goliath takes the beating and is still standing, but he is clearly weakened by the barrage of attacks. Immediately, Hellfire erupts from his wounds and threatens both Radu and his twin.

OOC:

Reaction- Hellish Rebuke: DEX save (DC 17) Damage 23 on a failed roll. Damage 11 on a successful roll.

And..yes, I know you get to re-roll their saves.

After the save rolls, the match is called due to the amount of damage that Killian has taken. He's not happy with the decision.

Radu narrows his gaze at Killian. He had apologized in advance. Surely that was sufficient in a circumstance as this. He stifles a short laugh, but the smirk does not go away so quickly. The other man had hurt him, though, and he felt both a need to rejuvenate and a desire for nourishment.

The Lady Cyborg, who is at least half machine by all appearances, speaks with a slightly metallic tinge to her voice. "Impressive combat prowess, Lord Hove. With so many attacks, you very well may get the nickname Tornado or Maelstrom attached to you."

Natrix and Keltos fade from the Inner Council chamber and appear in the arena for the fourth match.
