Nice classic! Ugost was raised by deep gnomes

I noticed in languages that several list "read, write, speak, sign" XXX. Does that mean that sign language, with gestures, is a common mode of communication?

Adept is quite literally the monk, they just changed the name for a5e because now you're not limited to playing it like kung-fu boy, you can make it more like a pugilist if you want to. Like how the paladin is now the herald and the barbarian is now the berserker.

Edit: Yes, for each language that you know, you can also sign them now. It's a series of hand signals/shorthands. I guess a mix of regular sign language for deaf people and military hand signals. It's not really explored in depth, but that's how I picture it.

@psybermagi I'm kind of flexable as to what I play we have a serious deficit in the caster department. I just got home again after a weird day of work.

Updating my notes.

Class - Traveller Sorcerer
Heritage - Deva
Culture - Forsaken
Background - Haunted
Destiny - Prophesy or maybe Metamorphosis

How is this for a beginning?

I'm thinking the Deva resurrection being followed by the spirit of a lover or perhaps a mentor with whom they had a relationship.
Forsaken because their original culture or society is long gone. Imagine a Carthaginian reborn after the city was reduced to ashes or a person from the Old Kingdom reawakening during the Ptolemaic years.

15,14,13,12,10,8 point spread?

I've submitted up to picking spells and equipment and my destiny... My density has popped me to you.

Should I post here my stats or the DM can see the on my char page?

Once a character sheet is submitted the DM can see and edit a character sheet

Standard point buy, but if you want to use the standard array, go ahead, IIRC it totally can be reproduced via standard point buy anyways.

Yeah, I can already see your sheet.

Is there a new spell list I haven't seen or just the stock 5E.
Apr 4, 2024 2:40 pm
I assume these are all ok
https://a5e.tools/spells
other 5e spells may be options as well. Up to GM

Yeah, spells have been reworked in a5e. Some trouble spells have been re-written, other 5e spells no longer exist because they've been made class features (see paladin's special smites), New spells have been created to make a5e more unique, etc.

I see a list of spells in the "traveler" section of sorcerer but I'm back on my phone at work. I'll look for the spells in a bit.

Question - If you take Mystical Talent, do your cantrips and spells level up as your level or would you have to take levels in the other class? I'm wondering because I'm thinking about grabbing Cleric so I can cast Heal spells too.

I'm approaching done on my character ... I think, Still pondering Destiny.

I'm not super versed in multiclassing in 5e/a5e because I've never done it, so it might take time for me to find the answer. In the meantime, if anyone is more verse then me, feel free to answer...

Edit: Okay, this section here covers everything but the cantrips. I guess I need to search the magic section and cantrips to figure out how cantrips work on multiclassed characters...

Edit, edit: The Spellcasting section wasn't very helpful. The best thing I can surmise is that cantrips use your total character level to determine their potency, otherwise those feats which grants cantrips would be near-useless, especially at later levels... If I'm wrong, anyone better versed can feel free to correct me.

I would assume that unless specifically prohibited the cantrips would operate at higher levels as you level up and something like cure wounds would level according to the slot used to cast it.

MULTICLASSING says:
Whenever you gain a character level, you have the option of gaining a level in a different class instead of gaining the next level in your current class. Your character level is the total number of levels you have in any classes.
Cantrips says:
The spell’s damage increases by 1d? when you reach 5th level (2d?), 11th level (3d?), and 17th level (4d?).
So this seems the same as 5e. From what I have read I am assume any time a5e diverges form 5e is will explicitly say so.

I'm looking at Sacred Flame and Light for cantrips and Cure Wounds for my level 1.
