1d20+5 : (10) + 5 = 15

1d6 : (3) = 3

Ugost continues to nickel and dime the guard down, his graetclub misses, but the handaxe finds its mark.

Zaiashi is up next!

OOC:
Wasn't Ugost attacks on a blind rider? Would they be with advantage?

Zaiashi is getting disappointed in the repeated fails and decides to cast arcane muscles on himself.
OOC:
unfortunately I'm not sure how to put them into the dropdown so, I'll copy/paste from the homepage: Casting Time1 Action
Range
Self
Components:VS
Duration:1 minute
Your muscles swell with arcane power. They’re too clumsy to effectively wield weapons but certainly strong enough for a powerful punch. Until the spell ends, you can choose to use your spellcasting ability score for Athletics checks, and for the attack and damage rolls of unarmed strikes. In addition, your unarmed strikes deal 1d6 bludgeoning damage and count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Zaiashi pulls a Piccolo and uses the power of steroids magic to become far stronger than he used to be. All beware Orange Zaiashi!

Vuraz is up next!
Jul 17, 2024 8:41 pm
Vuraz will try to attack again with his warhammer.

Rolls

Warhammer attack - (1d20)

(18) = 18

damage (in case it hits) - (1d8)

(1) = 1

Jul 17, 2024 9:59 pm
Vuraz hits the rider with his warhammer for 2 points of bludgeoning damage, dropping it. Since you reduced an opponent to 0 HP in melee, you can choose wether you killed him or just knocked him unconscious.

Once you've made your choice, I'll move on to the scouts' initiative.
Jul 18, 2024 7:44 am
I knock him unconsious. I do not want to kill these guards.
Jul 18, 2024 4:06 pm
As the rider drops unconscious, another exclaims. "Shit! They got Rhogar!"

"Ain't much we can do for him in the state we're in. We better ride back to Northminster and report that we've found their dangerous criminals!"

With this, the riders will move away. One will move 80-ft. along the road, the other, having to take an action to put out the fire will do only 40-ft.

The battle is technically over, unless you want to take pot-shots at the fleeing riders?
Jul 19, 2024 3:43 am
Zariana twists the weave and mutters something under her breath as a ghostly pale green hand takes as swipe at the more injured of the two of the riders.

Before turning to the others, "We need to go, and straight away." She puts a hand on her leg which is still bleeding and winces.

"We best cover are tracks well to give us more time." as she goes back to Pinto and remounts.
Jul 19, 2024 5:46 am
"Do you think we have time for that?" asks Vuraz looking at the unconsious guard at his feet.
Jul 19, 2024 1:55 pm
I dislike speaking of this but the hardest part of hiding our tracks are the horses and cart. If we abandon them we can hide better but then they will likely capture Belton. With two horses we may be able to transfer all to cargo to them and abandon the cart. Or perhaps fins someone to sell it to.

Turning to the merchant he asks I thank you again for your help but by accompanying us you are putting yourself in danger. What do you wish to do?
Jul 19, 2024 9:49 pm
Zariana leaves a frostbite on the leg of the wounded rider as souvenir as she realizes none of her companions are interested in shooting at the fleeing riders...

"Mother did not raise no quitter! A liar and a cheater perhaps, but certainly no quitter! Besides, would you guys know where to go without me? Also, if I stick with you, you now have three horses, do not forget I have Rummynose to help carry even more supplies." Belton exclaims. "That's a shame, that was a nice wagon... I'm going to miss it."

As he watches the riders disappear in the distance, he exhales a long breath as if he had been holding it in. "Well, that confirms the worst I had in mind. So, how about a change of plans?" The smuggler points out into the North Riding grassland. "There's an old smuggler's route out there. It used to be a common way to dodge tariffs. Ever since that got lifted though, there's really no use for it left. I reckon it's probably an overgrown mess now, but it will let us stay away from any roadblocks that are bound to be set up along the roads. What do you all think?"
Jul 19, 2024 10:23 pm
With a flick of her red hair while rightly mounted on her sweet Pinto, "We can travel much faster without the cumbersome wagon. I guess leave the heavily wounded rider to be found. He is in no shape to follow us. He can watch over our wagon."

Her light green eyes are comparing her Pinto to the other new mount. Although she is getting rather used to Pinto. She shows no visible fear of Pinto at all. She even pets him.

OOC:
Actually the wagon was pulled at Rummynose's speed of 40-ft. per round. I think you all walk at 30-ft. per round, so you'll be slightly slower on foot, but not as visible...

Ugost strips the guard of armor, weapons, and anything useful or if value before bandaging his wounds and binding his arms.

Ugost wants to get the guards talking, confirm his origins then explain the story to him. He will highlight their rescue by the paladin and everything he can remember about the cult robes, the creature the paladin slew, etc. He doesn't care if the guard believes him but will stick to the facts and add much detail about the cult as possible. While he will emphasis that they were under the cults control he will not mention the memory loss. Stressing their innocence but frankly admitting their unwillingness to surrender he suggests the guards relay the story to their leaders.

If none of the party object he will proceed with the plan

The scout has a padded leather armor, a shortsword, a longbow and a quiver with 20 arrows.

Grrr. Scarfs could use a nice helpful short bow (Not longbow) and she is already in padded leather armor and has a shortsword to fight with. Don't suppose he had his salary in a convenient pouch. Scarfs likes the sound of coins jingling.

Binding isn't necessary and better to leave him at least to defend his heavily injured self. Bandaged is cool.

I can't see a point of telling him a true story since he really will not care. Just kills time. They already decided that we are 'dead or alive'. And we have no proof. Whatever we are accused of it, it has to be horrible and cruel that really 'dead and not alive' was more the issue. And they could do a better portrait of Scarfs. (She holds a pose.)

Zariana binds her leg and apologizes to the unconcious guard. "I really am terribly sorry for all of this bother."

The Deva looks at Ugost, "We're best to get moving sooner rather than later, I don't imagine explaining ourselves to him will do much good."

Then she takes one of the new horses and follows Belton, "Best to get off the roads and disappear from sight as quickly as possible." She says once they're out of earshot of the guard before turning to Scarfs, "Next time when someone asks you if you've seen anyone suspicious the appropriate answer is simply no."
