I'm just working my brain through the process and I wasn't here for that... I was trying to remember my name, it's a very delicate process when your brain's been wiped. Now if one of you were to say, "It's just across the street, if we hurry we can be out of here before the goblin's wake up."

A (where we exited the complex), B being the Thrifty Griffin (where we want to go), C being the Whistling Well (where we are), and D being Tinbellow's Medical Practice (where we have been).

I dug this out to help you figure out where we are and where we are going. We are moving from "C" to "B". As you can see, we will be still in the Redwall district, a place where the town guards rarely patrolled.

Mmmm, maps. Ember drools... Where did we come from? IE - Where's the evil temple that we're "devotees" of? I assume it's the Cathedral in the middle.

We appeared lost in a small maze area and exit by the "A" area.

kalajel says:
"Well first, I think all of you need to ditch those robes and close that door in order to avoid attracting too much attention." Belton Freedew point at those of you still wearing cultist robes (which at that point I believe is only Garbuffel) and the door to the crypts by which you exited. "As for the Weirwoods, they're not exactly close, which is good for you lot because you wanna put as much distance between you and Northminster. See, I have this wagon and horse, but we'll need supplies. First, I need some dried yewclaw bark form Dr. Tinbellows, who should also be able to give you a nice haircut if you need, then I need the 20 gold owed to me by the goblins Muggs and Runns, finally, as many supplies as you think you'll need for the journey, you can get those out of the back of the Thrifty Griffon. Once you get all those, you can come and get me, I'll be waiting for you behind the Thrifty Griffon.
kalajel says:
"Well, in that case, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Belton Freedew, at your service. I know a lot about Northminster, the city we are currently in." He continues, "I know that Tariq Crestveil, the captain of the guards, has been trying to stamp down your little cult for weeks now. Don't worry, you're in Redwall, a rather lawless area of town where the guards rarely patrol."
Belton then scratches his chin for a moment, "Hmm, memories wiped by magic... and bugs you say?" he then snaps his fingers saying, "Apple Pie! No... Appleseed! Yeah, that's it, Granny Appleseed, a weird old broad, lives out in the Weirwood. My cousin took a real nasty wallop and went all thick in the head, could barely talk. Granny Appleseed did some magical whatsits and he was all better and beating me at cards again. If there's anybody who can fix them memories, it'll be her. Way out of the city too, which is good for you lot because the longer you stay around here the better chance captain Tariq is gonna catch you and lop off yer heads. Now, I can't get you outta Norhtminster for free exactly—I may need your help with a few things before we can get out of here..."
Important info.

Ah. We do have "33 gp, 70 sp, 2 potions, a small container with some ointments, and a scroll." from the two. Of course, the late Belton Freedew is due 20 gp. (Loot is on Scarfs.)

kalajel says:
OOC:
Yes, Tinbellow's Medical Practice to be more exact.
As Zaiachi waits outside, he catches a fragment of conversation from two passerbys.

"...yeah, found him in that alley over there, wasn't much left o' him..."

"Waddya mean?'

"Just bones and torn clothes really, like something ate his flesh and left the rest behind...

And Scarfs spend 20 gold coins for the useless dried yewclaw bark now.

It's close by, but you are correct. We should not dawdle.
Zaiashi attempts to calm Zariana

Zariana nods looking about anxiously, "Yes, lets go then and hurry to put this place behind us."

You make your way towards the Thrifty Griffin, You see Belton Freedew waiting for you there. "Ah, good, come to purchase supplies before leaving? Have you gotten what I-" Belton stops as he then spots Ugost disguised as Muggs the goblin. "What is he doing here? Why you little swindle, you better give me my 20 golds you owe me!"
Apr 9, 2024 12:59 pm
Scarfs chuckles and produces a bag of 20 gp worth of Dried Yewclaw Bark. To distract Belton and cut him off, "How much of this did you need?" She also produces his 20 gp from her special supply as well to hand to him to further calm him down.

In his best goblin snarl Ugost replies I don't owe you nuttin. Just wanna get out of town with my friends here

Then I'm his regular voice Do you like the hat? I thought it looked neat and felt a bit of subterfuge might help avoid terrible as he smiles

Surprised by Ugost, Belton can't help but smile at Muggs' imitation. "Oh wow, that's actually pretty good... Of course, the real Muggs would have said 'I dun owes you nuttin' instead, but yeah, a pretty convincing first try, I'd say." He then turns to the rest of you. "Hey, you other guys can pull off something like that? It would help a lot in smuggling the whole lot of you guys outta here..." Finally, remembering Scarfs question, he turns to her, happily pocketing the dried yewclaw bark and the 20 gold pieces "Those? Oh, well I was expecting you guys to be able to purchase maybe 2 or 3 of those, but the more you can purchase, the better really. A few of the guards are really into this stuff, I'm expecting to use those as 'bribes' of sort to make getting outta here smoother, if you catch my drift..."

"We were heading to the Thrifty Griffin for some supplies. On that leaving matter, how soon we expecting to do that?"

"We also came upon some ointment, potions and a scroll. Any ideas where we can get this stuff looked over?"

"Why do people never label things?" Zariana asks looking over the scrolls, "I don't understand people who can organize things in a proper fashion."

She looks at Scarfs and Belton, "And yes the sooner we can be gone from this town the better."

"Let me see the scroll..." Vuraz says in his deep voice. He snatches the scroll and opens it. "You know, scrolls can be a powerful tool on the right hands."

Despite being a dwarf, Vuraz feels comfortable with magic and has seen some stuff in his time in the dwarven guard, deep in the belly of the Earth.

OOC:
Unless any of you can cast read magic or identify right now (or have a potential special ability which could do similar things), then you have no way of knowing what's written on this scroll at the moment (or what the potions or ointment is for that matter)...

Does Sorceress count?

Scarfs regathers the items and put them back in her sack where she was carrying them earlier, "We need to find a person that can check these out."

"Any suggestions Belton where to go after the Trifty Griffin assuming that place can't help us ID this stuff?"

I think it best to get out of town while we can.
Just get the essentials we need now and go. We can look into other options once we are safe.
. Ugost suggests not enjoying the idea of lingering with a reward on his head. No matter how rarely the guard comes here the group is pretty recognizable with all those wanted flyers and someone is bound to try to claim it eventually.

OOC:
Until I find the actual rule, I don't mind telling you what the scroll is. It's a scroll of Chill Touch.
"Yeah, but that would require stepping out of the Redwall district where guards are likely to find you. I'm sure you'll be able to figure things out eventually once we're out of town..." Belton says this last part looking at your spellcasters.
OOC:
Until I find the actual rule, a Detect Magic might help, of course an Identify would, but I doubt you have the material component for it, but there are rules for identifying magic items during short rests.
