@Dr. B - Cuz! Muchas gracias for putting in a good word for me with the Street Wolves. I think Rocky and I can really make a difference cleaning up the street trash ... Speaking of good word, any fine ladies over there you can do the same with? The last chica didn't get along with Rocky, so she had to go ... well, that and I accidentally smashed her Apple IIe, ahem.
Hey everyone. I want to clarify that this game is using the fifth printing of the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition.
This is noteworthy because the fifth printing introduces some sizeable changes and errata to the system. In particular, some significant revisions were made to some of the powers, and there is now a new type of action: limited actions. Some Edges and Hindrances have also been tweaked.
The SWADE link at the top post of the thread is for a copy of the fifth printing PDF. If you are using an older printing, then I've also included a link for an update sheet that summarizes all of the v5.0 changes for you. I don't expect these rules tweaks will impact the game much, but I want to make sure that we are all on the same page.
By the way, in case anyone is interested, I highly recommend watching Moonbeam City. It's an adult animated series that aired on Comedy Central in 2015. The show is an excellent homage to synthwave aesthetics, and it parodies '80s cop dramas. The main characters are voiced by Rob Lowe, Elizabeth Banks, Kate Mara, and Will Forte. I find it quite entertaining. I believe you can watch episodes for free on the Comedy Central website.

No place like Starlight City for meeting Señoritas!
Okay, all characters are submitted. I'll be making the first post in the next day or two. In the meantime, I'm checking over the characters. If you don't get a message from me, then assume your character is fine and ready to go.
Hello, Street Wolves. I haven't forgotten about you. I got a little busy this week, but I will be posting later today for the game.
As far as character go, everything looks fine. If you haven't done so, make sure to note your Skill Specializations and Drive points on your character sheet. You get one specialization for each skill, unless it's a skill without any (such as Intimidation, for instance). There is a list of specializations on page 115 of Street Wolves. Drive points are equal to your Spirit die plus 2.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been busy as well so it's no problem. For specializations, are they optional? Is there any penalty to taking them?
They are offered as optional but suggested for grittier games, so I decided to try it for this game. The PDF doesn’t say how many specializations you start with. I’m assuming it’s one per skill. There is a -2 penalty when using a specialization that you don’t have. A few skills have no specializations, and those skills work as normal.
Apologies for taking so long. The first post of the game has been made. It ended up being longer than expected and took additional time to write. But it's finally up.
For the purposes of this game, I'm going to assume that you all have pagers. Just makes things easier, communication-wise. Add one to your equipment list if you don't already have one. It's a standard one-way pager; two-way pagers won't be invented for another few years.
For stylistic reasons, I plan to use a lot of fuchsia in some of my posts. I realized this may make the text a little more difficult to read. Upon playing around with the settings, I noticed that fuchsia stands out much better when Gamers Plane is set on dark theme. If the fuchsia coloration is still problematic for you, let me know and I can very easily tone it down or do without it.
Because it's an alternate timeline we don't have to strictly follow the tech of the real world. We could have two-way pagers or even those older plastic mobile phones. A little research shows a few phones were made in the 1980s. We have the Samsung SH-100 and the Motorola MicroTAC
