"Look at how they fear Sir Belvedere of Rookwood!" Belvedere boasts triumphantly, as the monsters seem more interested in the rest.

It couldn’t be that he was the least threatening of the lot, and so could be dispatched once the real foes were put in the dirt!

He shakes the doubt loose, and zaps his wand at the spectral woman!

"Unhand her, you miserable beast!" he curses!

As Xaka plunges her brightly glowing spear into the side of the distracted specter of the Countess arches her back, neck and head as she shudders and shrieks. Then she fades out...her cold presence gone!

Katie slugs down her last tree sap potion and slowly approaches the book, eyes wide.

Katie finds the a Necromancer's Grimoire on a podium. She finds it locked shut but sees that it doesn't require a key; it can be unlocked manually without one easily. Its purpose seems to be just to keep the book bound shut. With her knowledge of metals she can tell its made of sterling silver. The book is bound by a dark dyed leather. The Countess and one of the Guards have been vanquished; only two guards left. They seem to be determined to avenge the fallen Countess. One continues to fight Grimbly as the other chases Xaka down.

Grimbley and Katie lost a strike from the round before but Katie gained one back. Now Grimbly and Xaka must make an armor save to keep from taking a strike. After they take their armor save players take their turn. I hope everyone understands that the blue bar represents current Karma.

Xaka, perhaps related by the vanquishing of the countess, is unprepared for the stroke by the undead guards.

Not enough karma to boost that so she'll take the strike.
