Track #1: Nightcall

For those who check the desk, the drawer indeed contains six copies of a multi-page police report from the Starlight City Police Department. It provides a detailed account of the robbery from the perspective of the guards in the armored truck.

According to Florida law, police reports are open to the public, but exceptions are made for active investigations. Normally, information related to an active investigation is withheld until an arrest is made or the case is closed. Nevertheless, La Voz has previously demonstrated a knack for getting his hands on restricted documents.

Switch scans through the report, lets out a whistle. "These guys are pros. So... Where do we start, to find them? The explosives? Maybe we can access what's left of the Loomis truck for clues.
Or we could follow the bikes trail? Who in this city can soup-up bikes and fine tune them to that level?..."
he thinks out loud.

"Fastest to split up and follow leads we are best suited to. I'll investigate the vehicles, obviously. No one in Starlight City knows cars and bikes like me."

Mathew skimmed through the documents and spoke to group, "Akuma is right; we will probably cover more ground if we split up and look for more information. We should also investigate the witnesses and try to look into this 'Family' to find out where they operate and what is generally known about them."

"I'm not much of a detective, but I can ask around the gun community. As of last year, automatics got a lot harder to buy legally, so that's an avenue to explore."

Bruce rubs his chin as he leafs through the folder. Certainly a lot of moving pieces, and of course time is of the essence. This group has been very active, and if their previous actions were any indication it wouldn't be long before they struck again.

Despite no visible microphones, La Voz listens and replies. "The perpetrators have demonstrated a proficiency with various types of vehicles, and a knowledge of firearms and explosives. Those skills, in that combination, are not common in the criminal underworld. The equipment to which they have access also seems, from a glance, fairly sophisticated. As Switch has stated, these are professionals. Not your standard gangbangers or mafiosos. Cartels are a possibility, though their operating procedures of generally much more bloody."

"Maybe I could take a run at Loomis, chat to their drivers, try to find out what didn't make it into the reports," Ace says. "The perps hadda get their info from somewhere; it's possible they got someone on the inside...

"Hey, La Voz, you said there'd been a couple other cases recently. How similar were they? More stick-ups on Loomis trucks? Maybe there's a pattern."

"I'm gonna join you, Dragon... if there are the remains of some tech toys on the truck, I want to take a closer look..." he says, standing up from the posh armchair.

Mathew looked around as everyone discussed their roles, "Well, it looks like one group will investigate the bikes and other will look into the Family. I am neither good with bikes nor proficient in tech devices. However, if you need a doctor then I am available." He waited for other's responses, wondering who will offer to take him.

"The Loomis suits may be unhappy if they catch us poking around. Think you're up to running some interference, Methane?" Ace asks.

Mathew raised his eyebrows but then sighed in acceptance, "I will see what I can do; is someone coming with me or am I alone in this? By interference, what do you mean? Do you want me to go and talk with them while you poke around or do you like want me to investigate them?"

"Let's play it by ear," Ace answers Mathew. "If there's anyone in the way of Switch doing his thing, make sure they don't see him. If there aren't any, maybe keep a lookout or see what you can find out. I'll try to catch some drivers for a chat, so I'll be close by. How's that sound?"

Mathew nods, "Sure. Let's proceed then. Maybe we can find out something related to why they were specifically targeted."

Akuma nods. He flips his worry beads a final time and stands. "Let's get started then. Anyone need a lift?"

"I'll ride into town proper with you if you don't mind. Not too many gun stores in gated communities," Bruce replies without looking up from the dossier before closing it and returning it to the drawer. Then he looks up and at Akuma and gives a nod.

"Time for action Wolves!" he high-fives the others and makes a cheesy wolf howl.

The Loomis group - Switch, Methane, Dragon - arrange transportation between them and get familiar with the pertinent parts of the Voice's dossier.

Once they have a fairly good idea of what facility the remains of the Loomis truck might have been carried to, they part ways with the others and get on the way.

Mathew finished his cognac and gently placed the glass on the table. He stood up and nodded at Switch and Dragon. "Come on, friends, let's move out. I am guessing we will have to find out where the truck is kept and in the meantime we can talk with the driver and guards of the truck."
