Volume I: The Lost Boys

Night Arrow remains at Zuri's side. Making sure she is safe from zombies and herself. Her bow drawn, focussed at the hall way.
OOC:
I am a bit confused at the state of the scene right now.

Mimic is helping to keep the zombies away from the door. Mostly tossing them Harmonia's way and trying not to think about how gross grabbing rotting bodies like that was. After the shield goes up she spins around and glares at Dr. Harris. "Well! What do you suggest we do instead? They'd still try to follow us out because of the smell. Do you want people to be in danger?" A few of them had already escaped before.. but the whole hoard would be a disaster. Or what was left of it. "They've already caused enough problems. And as much as you'd like to think, you can't actually save them."
Aug 2, 2024 2:11 pm
"You're KILLING them!!!"
The Doctor tried to pry himself loose from the Ogre's grasp, to no avail. All the people he 'saved' were being torn apart by the costume-wearing heroine, and there was nothing he could do to stop it "Please, make her stop!"

With the three Zombies in the room busy hunting Night Arrow, Miguel and Chayton decided to use the distraction to try to make their own escape. Smashing the window with their elbows, they looked outside and tried to gauge the distance to the ground. It was three stories up; and even with their feet dangling first they risked significant injury if they attempted to leave that way.

"Gimme your shirt. We can try making a rope or somethin' "

"Can't kill what is already dead, doc," Night Arrow says.

"Stay back," she then orders to Zuri.

Three zombies in the room. Night Arrow scoops up a hand of arrows from her quiver, draw them all and releases a hail of arrows at the zombies.
OOC:
She tries to takes away their ability to attack

Rolls

Night Arrow: DIRECTLY ENGAGE A THREAT - (2d6+(0)+(0))

(43) = 7

Each and every one of her arrows found its mark. The Zombies started to look like human porcupines, and even though it slowed their advance some, it didn't stop it. They could feel no pain - the only way to destroy them was to completely dismember them - or, as she found out when one of her arrows went right through one of the Undead's head - take out what was left of their brains.

One of them was down for the count, but it was too late to do anything about the other two. Grasping her with supernatural strength, the rotting corpses lurched forward to bite her with their rotting teeth, the stench of death on their breath.
OOC:

@nebula - we can assume Harmonia dealt with all the Zombies outside the room. No further rolls are required. You can add another +1 to the team pool, or take influence over someone.

@shorty - there is nothing to take away from the Zombies to prevent them from attacking you. They aren't armed. You can pick one of the other options for Engaging a Threat. At any case, trading blows is enough to take one of them down.

They are about to bite you, however, unless someone interferes and Defends you.

OOC:
Ok, then my arrow swarm will supress the zombies, slowing them down which creates an opportunity for my allies

"We can't..ugh!" He was starting to sound like a broken record. Has he ever seen a zombie movie? The person starting the apocalypse is never the good guy! It looked like things were handled out here - although she wasn't contributing much anyway. There were a few zombies left in the room. She froze for a second and glanced between the boys at the window and the zombies trying to get to Night Arrow and Zuri. The boys can wait until after the main threat is dealt with. Mimic rushes over and tries to tackle the zombies to the ground.

Rolls

Assumed I needed to make a defend roll - (1d6)

(1) = 1

OOC:
Didn't realize there was a typo

Rolls

Second dice for the previous roll. Adding the 1 I got before - (1d6+1)

(6) + 1 = 7

For a living cement-statue, Mimic moved pretty fast. Weighing in her new form well over a thousand pounds, she hit the Zombies like a truck - knocking them off their feet before they had the chance to bite Night Arrow.

Still very much 'alive', the Zombies struggled to get back on their feet; even they needed intact bones to stand up straight.
OOC:

The two remaining Zombies aren't much of a threat, to the three heroines in the room.
Feel free to describe how you handle/dispatch them.

Night Arrow walks to one of the zombies she had volleyed with her arrows. As it lays on the ground, she pulls an arrow out of his shoulder and just drives it through his brains. Doing so with her hand, not with her bow. Quite casually. Leaving the other to be finished off by one of her team mates.

Blacklight nearly panicked when the zombies in the room got past her tentacles of darkness to go after Night Arrow so Mimic's intervention was a huge relief. Taking a moment to look around she spotted the boy's who were responsible for much of the chaos getting ready to try and escape, and in a particularly stupid way. "You're not getting out that way." She warned pulling darkness across the window like a veil. Obscuring their escape path as she strode over to them. "You both are covered in that scent, so even if you didn't break your fool neck's in the fall you would have zombies breaking out after you in a heartbeat."
OOC:

Would I need a move to try and cow them into submission?

"It's not that long a fall" Chayton was sure he was going to make it, maybe with a sprained ankle or something. Then again, he also thought that spraying the heroes with Doctor Harris's invention was an excellent idea, too. At any rate, he was less eager to jump out of the window of a three-story building when but one of the 'Resurrected' was there to pose a threat.
OOC:
no need to roll anything, no.

A bit irritated by the unruly boys, Harmonia crushed the last zombie skull with a decisive blow. She then flew across the room with a swift, almost blinding speed, and try to grab Chayton by the hair, yanking just enough to make him regret his actions. "This is all you deserve, Chayton," she said, her voice firm and unyielding. Covered in gore, she had certainly seen better days.

"What I deserve?!?!" the young man raised his voice at her, and his fist "Everything would have been fine if you hadn't intervened. We didn't ASK for your help!!" he winched when she grabbed him by his long hair, and from another, deeper pain
Aug 7, 2024 5:31 pm
"Let go of him, please" the Doctor looked tired and broken. All his work was undone in the span of a few short minutes. The 'Resurrected', dead. He would never be able to help them now. They were gone, forever. That loss of life, or unlife, weighed heavily on his heart. "I...I think I better sit down"
Aug 7, 2024 7:16 pm
"Yeah doc. You better sit. In fact, you'll be sitting for the next 50 to 70 years I guess." Night Arrow says. Then she looks at Zuri. "Listen. I hope you're doing okay. But if you really wanted to be like that," Night Arrow points at the dead zombies. "Maybe we can help you find the help you need. You deserve better than that."

Unconvinced, Harmonia doesn't let go of the tail and look at the others trying to reason with the doctor, which seems hopeless at best.
Aug 8, 2024 2:01 pm
Blacklight lets out a sigh, and closes her physical eyes so she can better check throughout the building to make sure that she and more importantly Harmonia haven't missed any of the zombies. She was about to call the police and didn't want to risk their lives if they had missed one.
