There are a couple windows too if you want to shoot from outside, a big one that three of you could shoot through. They will get The Drop for the first round if they shoot before the door opens.

If someone goes through the door at the same time and makes a stealth check, I'll give them The Drop on their ambush, too.

"Got any words that might, hells I don’t know, sanctify our weapons, Padre? Kane here is a hell of a shot, but they only go down if you shoot them in the heart.

I was thinking you might be able to splash some holy water on our rifles, or something…"
Dirt asks, fumbling for something that might help them bring down the dead with something less than pinpoint accuracy!

"He's right. We need all the help we can get, Rev."

Kane hadn't believed in any of that mumbo jump before, but with what he had seen lately, his eyes had been opened wide. Sure, he had some unexplained experiences, but this was of a higher order. If the Rev gave them a prayer and a shot of holy water, he'd take it.

"Just let Jesus guide your aim!" Reverend Turner says and he takes up a position outside the big window, kissing his silver cross and preparing to also blast away. "Jesus loves! Jesus loves killing vampires!"

And with that, the man's longarm is up and tucked into his shoulder as his finger squeezes one of the weapon's two triggers...
OOC:
There's no 'blessing' the Rev can offer, but he does have a couple of important edges that should allow everyone in earshot to roll +1 to all recovery rolls when you're Shaken.

OOC:
I'll stay at the door if the others want to shoot through the window.

Rolls

Stealth* - (1d6, 1d6, RA)

1d6 : (4) = 4

1d6 : (4) = 4

Kane sets up through the window, squints his eyes, inhales a quiet breath, and aims for heart of the nearest vampire, squeezing the trigger of his Big 50.
OOC:
Finally! Does the awarded benny carry over from the last chapter to add to the three given in this scene?

OOC:
If you had more than three bennies, keep the higher total. However, because you had The Drop, +4 attack and damage, your first roll his and you don't need to spend the Bennies.
Kane uses the element of surprise and shoots one of the creatures through the heart. It explodes into dust.

Rolls

Vigor vs 10 or get dusted - (1d10, RA)

(7) = 7

As soon as Dirt registers Kane’s weapon firing, he unloads on two of the vampires with his own weapons! The two gun kid aims a deadly shot at each, hoping to bring them down before they get a chance to realize what’s happening.

"Thats it! Get em!"
OOC:
Called Shot counteracts the Drop!

As all the guns go off and light up the inside of the building, the Reverend's shotgun thunders as well, blowing in some windows as he aims for the center mass of one of the vile creatures!
OOC:
Calling the shot, heart. Which just negates The Drop...

I suspect that's a raise, so adding +1d6 on the damage.

Gunfire explodes in the sleepy town, and four vampires feasting on the bodies on the floor explode into dust.

The fifth Nosferatu hisses and leaps up into the rafters, hidden in the darkness.

Dirt's gun in his left hand jams, a, misspent cartridge clogging the barrel.
OOC:
Critical fail!
Those outside can't see the creature from where you are standing. Ruby from the door can make a Notice check if she wants to track it.

Rolls

Vigor rolls for targets of Dirt , Ruby, Rev - (1d10, 1d10, 1d10, RA)

"Damned thing!" Dirt curses, hammering the weapon against the wood of the window in frustration.

"Don’t let it jump you!" he calls out to Ruby, as he works to unjam his weapon and make his way around front, supposing that the others didn’t fancy climbing through a broken window!
Jun 26, 2024 3:45 am
"It jumped into the rafters!" she shouts as she peers into the darkness.
OOC:
No idea why it rolled twice. Ignore the second one.

OOC:
But the second roll was the better roll! Lol.
Kane follows Dirt around to the front door.

"I'm not keen on climbing after it. It has the advantage up there not to mention it's pitch black. Should we wait it out? It has to come out sometime, don't it?"

"Not if it’s dark enough. And not if there’s more here that it can gang up on us with." Dirt says, with a sigh. Nasty work…

"I’ll go on in there and act as bait." he announces, his next hare-brained scheme in the making.

"You must make sure and get it good before it gets me!" he says, with a stern look to each of them that expects a promising nod in return.
Jun 27, 2024 9:17 pm
Ruby can see it steady in the rafters, a slightly greyer spot in the dark. It's perfectly still, ready for her to give a sign she's seen it before leaping to attack!
Jun 29, 2024 4:16 am
Opening his shotgun, the Reverend pulls the empty shell out and tosses it to the street before shoving a new shell home and snapping the action shut. Standing near the now glassless window, he takes aim generally towards the ceiling, hoping the thing will make a move...
Jun 29, 2024 9:57 am
"Right there, in the center of the rafters!" She aims her revolver at it and fires.

Rolls

Starr Revolver - Attack Roll - (1d6, 1d6, RA)

Dirt winces as the gun goes off near his head!

"Well, God da…" he starts, and then clears his throat, thinking the preacher man might take offense.

He waits to see if the thing drops from its hiding spot.
