Could we go dianetics with the pontoons, I wonder? How fast/maneuverable are they?

The Haven are more likely to seek us in the woods/roads where the deadly encounter happened, not expecting a river base? That wouldn't solve the floaters issue, but maybe it would give us a little advantage?

Agreed. The going might be easier and less congested with zombies other than the floaters if we went the water route, and wouldn't the pontoons just push them out of the way? Pontoon boats, in RL anyway, are as fast as the motor that's on them (example: ours will go 30 mph), and they are as maneuverable as any v-hull boat.

Upriver by boat sounds like fun.

Sorry to have been out a pocket unexpectedly a couple of days there… should we debate this IC, or her OOC? I think going upriver is a terrible idea, and we now need to collect our entire crew…

What's your idea if you don't like the upriver plan @Harrigan? Maybe we will ditch you. 😁

Replied IC. I might have the directions wrong, though. I think down-river / away from New Haven is the ticket.

Upriver - New Haven direction and whatever is putting walkers into the water. Possible unrelated. I suppose you could ask the sisters.

Downriver - A whole new world. Away from dangers presented thus far!

Hexes, if we can call them that, are said to be big though. And there could be any number of things inside a single space. You could go upriver and be totally fine!!

This scene was brought to you by:

NPC Encounter: Eva and Selena Cabello.
Feature: A stranded monster truck. (Took Liberties!!)
Feature: Two fully functional mountain bikes leaning against a fence.

I know it can be a little lame to peek behind the screen, but I was really chuffed with how this game came together last time on a few small rolls such as the ones above!

This is one of my favorite parts of GMing games and why solo play is often so fun too.

Very cool, actually, and nicely done!

Holding a moment to give Owen that sweet, sweet stress relief, and then we’ll be bobbing along the river in storm weather!!

Owen is using Vinh as a mirror for his emotions. A little introspection moment for the shaken teenager!

Before we move on the boat, I’ll post another in-character post. While that’s happening, we should handle some things!

Let’s have someone roll Mobility to get the boat down-river in a storm with no real problems! The boat has an Issue, like everything else!

We could also have someone write a Dearly Departed monologue, as you move down the river. Seems like an appropriate point.

Finally, XP:

@Dr_B Technically, it would be one stress. But we are about to enter into a nebulous time in the game, as you set up to move downriver. You could say that you sit for a while and just reduce all your stress.

Thanks.
Let's go by the book and lose 1 stress only. Motivates him to destress in different ways!

Aren't we too many to go by car? With all the npcs, the 2 sisters, etc.

Logistics alone might mean we have to go with the pontoons?
Aug 15, 2024 4:19 pm
We could use the car to carry stuff, with most of the community walking behind.
Aug 15, 2024 5:47 pm
Like a pack mule. Why not follow the river and have the boat as an additional option?
Aug 15, 2024 6:06 pm
Tricky. The pontoons provide both transport and shelter. But the river is polluted.
With the car pack mule option, it would be looking for a different shelter every night.
