Three Months Later…
The harshness of the winter cold was finally starting to taper off. Before long, you’d be able to go outside without seeing plumes of your own breath. You’d spent the most of the harder months behind the walls that surrounded Athens. Well… the part of Athens not full of walkers. The part that still flew the Red, White and Blue. Martin would have hated that. He wouldn’t counseled against it: marching off into a city full of walkers. But he hadn’t been there when you’d gotten back. He hadn’t been there when you dragged Richard from the brush limp and fading fast. He hadn’t been there when the horsemen had come through and extended a hand to help… in exchange for you joining the community here in the city.
Since your arrival, there had been talk of clearing out more buildings, streets and blocks. You’d quickly learned that this was empty talk from the Athenians. The group numbered just over a hundred, but barely half that number could be counted on in a fight. And so you’d been put to work just as soon as you were back on your feet. Selena… She hadn’t survived the road and Eva had become a shadow of herself, not that you knew the woman well to begin with. The others were here, too, bruised and battered and cold.
You hear a pounding at the door of the building you and the others now occupy within Athens. This early in the morning, with the morning’s cool fog still sitting on the ground, the sound makes your heart jump. More pounding, and then shouting through cupped hands from outside:
"He’s awake! He’s awake! Your man, Richard! He’s come to! Doc says to come quick!" comes the cry of Joshua, one of the people you’d met here at Athens.
"We don’t know how long he’ll be awake! Hurry up!" the young man’s voice calls, with genuine excitement in his voice. Anyone looking out the window will see Joshua stooping to find something to clatter against the window, in hopes of waking you!

OOC:
We are back for Season 2. What have you been doing to earn your (and Richard’s) keep in Athens? Guard duty? Runs? Something related to your previous life? Any new NPCs we should know about?
