Caleb Barker
"All clear! Open her up!" Caleb Barker calls above the wind. It was sure to bring walkers towards Athen, a voice like that. That was the benefit of living in a large community: A few walkers didn’t pose such a big threat.
That was little use to you, of course, as the you watch the gate shudder and scrape open. The wind whipped about, and the bolted on sheet-metal which had been used to reinforce the front gate warbled terribly. That too would bring more walkers, you were sure. So long as you were on your way when they got here, they were Caleb’s problem to deal with…
Finally, the gate and the noise ceases somewhat! Before you, are the streets of Athens. The Athens not currently colonized by the still living. The Athen still crawling with enough walkers that adding the Athenians to the horde would make a scarce bit of difference.
"Alright! Get to going! We need to close her up! Caleb calls again, and you set the old cruiser out into the city streets. Billie-Faye feels the wind whipping up terribly as she rolls out onto the unwalled streets. Enemy territory…
As the bird flies, it wasn’t far to Bethlehem. You’d need to pass through a dozen or so blocks westward and then you’d cruise right over to the satellite town quick as a flash. Maybe in the olden days it might have gone like that!
Even as you roll out into the city, you can already tell it’s going to be
a day… Cars wedged the road, and you suppose their must be walkers stuck within the metal river of abandoned vehicles…
God knows what else was out there, too…
