Thanks! I’ve actually been teaching for 20 years (starting as a volunteer in Hong Kong, May 2005). I love it, and don’t want to leave the classroom. The doctoral program is to step up my game. (And be addressed as "Dr.")

What does your wife teach? I teach English as a Second Language (which, in Hong Kong, was just "English.")
No, I’m at a hotel while my daughters rough it in a tent. That cabin is an Air B&B on the same property as the campground, owned by the aunt of one of the violinists*. It’s a 70-acre farm.



*Oh… if I didn’t mention it before, this isn’t a normal vacation. Two of my daughters are in an orchestra (cellist & violinist), so they’re on their summer tour. Tonight’s performance was at a barn that was converted into an opera house.

She teaches 3rd grade and has an MEd. She's a reading specialist and often gets the kids who can't read at all in her classroom because her masters thesis was on teaching reading and she's often able to get many of those kiddos from unable to read to almost 3rd grade proficiency by the end of the year.

That’s awesome. I love reading novels with my students, but I’m fortunate that most of the students are already strong readers in their first languages. We have a couple illiterate students in the high school, but not on my caseload.

Thanks, I forgot to look back at the rules.

No biggie. I just threw in pick-ups because it felt wrong not to have them when they’re a major part of Doom II (and I guess all the other Dooms and FPSs).

I think in a future game, I need to have items instead of powers. It’s fun to come up with this crap.

Anyway, that last hit should finish the job… I was hoping you’d use a move where missing inflicts damage.

These guys are the fastest demon in the game and the most difficult to stun-lock. They’re among the best in terms of health and damage. And they can revive most demons/zombies.

Oops—it does clearly say "instead of…"

Sorry about that, @Ysolde ! That’s what I get for posting at almost 2am. In my head, I pictured the fairy becoming to small to see, entering the heart, and growing inside it.

But on the bright side (assuming you don’t object to me not retconning), the heart grew so big it exploded and I’ll probably just have the defender defend everyone but yourself since the dark souls can’t do much to an oversized fairy.

My courses are already keeping me crazy busy, but my course load is light at the beginning. So BS3010 is on!

I’m going to try to throw in some lighter moments in this stage. It will be loosely based on the SF2010 plot (which, hopefully, none of you know), but mixing in bits from other games.

I’ll probably post a Headquarters scene later this weekend or Monday. After that, you’ll need to find a couple treasures before you face the villain behind the evil thing that hasn’t started happening yet.

Music might be more of a Late-80s-Capcom-Remix-Mix since—as much as I LOVE SF2010’s music, it’s too obscure a game to have a lot of good fan covers.

The cover I used for the opening post is from a fan who released their SF2010 tracks on January 2nd, 2010. I thought that was cool and the track I used is a nice remix of the prologue and the music that plays when you fight the robot ape featured on the box art.

Makoto is from a game called Mach Breakers: Numan Athletics 2.



I never played it, or even knew of it until running this game. Gameplay videos came up as a result of my searches for video game music. MB:NA2 has 7 playable characters and 12 competitive events, all of which involve silly Herculean feats. Some events give you 2 tries, and only the best score counts, meaning you can fail one try without consequence.

I’m out and about now, but will start the competitions later today or tomorrow. They can run at each player’s pace, though I’ll do my best to wrap them up close together.

@Dmbrainiac - you haven’t committed to your Custom Stunt or Custom Magic yet.

—and you don’t have to. You *could* come up with a Custom Stunt/Magic in the middle of a scene that fits that situation (during the competition or later during the SF3010 mission).

But my point is that I was checking everyone’s snippets (trying to anticipate how different moves could prove advantageous), and I noticed the custom moves have yet to be customized.

@Eltesla - you did not retain the effect from Stage 5. That roll will count as one of your two actions for the first turn, but it’s worth it. Doubling the damage of your attacks as your first action is (in my opinion) the best possible opener.

—Especially since you combo’d! I’ll tell you what the combo does for you when I post in game.

Oh! Um, I don't know what to do right now. So I'll just see if something comes up during play!

About my coin toss in competitions: a miss doesn’t do anything. If I roll a hit, I’ll come up with some kind of opportunity for your character.
