Is this long rest or short rest? based on timing seems like short rest time time. If so could I use my Second Wind beforehand?

Since I wanted ya'll to level to level 2, this would have to be a long rest.

One of my house rules (I think I put it in the game thread, but maybe not; so I'll update it if not) is that you can roll and if it's less than average, take average.

I like it when my PCs are a little hardier.
